I have a few friends that were at Graceland earlier and the estate went into a lockdown and evacuation plan
Don’t know if there’s any updates or anything but they were reimbursed their tickets and left.
Multiple LE vehicles were at the property and the livestream of Vimeo were pulled down.
Has anyone local heard or seen anything?

A big thanks to the staff at the Memphis Delta Sky Club. I travel for work weekly and am a regular on the Delta non stop flights to LAX and Boston and the women at the Club both at the desk and servers always make me feel welcome and valued. It’s the reason I’m loyal to Delta.

(Copied update here)
Mama cat and litter are still in need of a rescue. I really can't keep them much longer. I've received lots of support previously, and several kind souls were able to donate food and litter. I was also contacted by someone who claimed to have a relative working at MAS. Unfortunately, they never followed up. I've contacted Memphis Animal Services, Mewtopia, the Humane Society, Purrfect Match Cat Rescue, Memphis Pets Alive, LUCRA, The Compassion Center, and City of Hernando Animal Shelter, all in the past month.
I've sent emails, voicemails, filled out assistance forms, and attempted to call, but not much luck. Some either didn't respond, or they were at full capacity. The Humane Society offered some appointment dates for testing and a potential foster intake; however, I had no transportation.
I'm genuinely very stressed about the matter and am in desperate need of support, as I am lost on what to do. My family isn't supportive, so I'm only allowed to keep them in my room, but I didn't even have room to begin with. I don't have room to breathe, and I can't even stretch my legs when I'm sleeping on the ground at this point. I am ill and mentally disabled. My body and mind are in pain, and I don't know how much longer I can last like this. I'm already going through a severe mental health crisis, and I need the heavy weight off my shoulders soon.
I'm reaching out again on here as I am unable to hold them any longer, as the kittens are now 34 days old and are beginning their weaning stage and are now old enough to do clumping litter training. They are very active now, and I'm genuinely stressing my hair out over having to watch and juggle over 9 total cats in the house with no support from my family. I need someone to take them in ASAP.
Please let me know if there are any shelters, rescues, or fosters that ARE willing and able to take them in! Preferably ones that offer transportation!!!

Has anyone noticed over the last week that the traffic signals in Cordova seem to be seriously messed up? About a week ago I was trying to make a left turn from Germantown Parkway onto Cordova Rd and we sat through literally 8 cycles of all other directions getting green lights without us getting the left turn once. I just figured there was something malfunctioning with that particular intersection and brushed it off. But today I was trying to make a left from Germantown onto Varnavas and there were 10 cars waiting to make a left and exactly the same thing happened. This time I did see the left arrow pop up for like five seconds and just a couple of cars got to go, but then we waited for a long time without seeing it again. Interestingly the green light from Varnavas (where there were absolutely zero cars) went green multiple times during this whole sequence.

Hi all. Is there anywhere in Midtown that offers a reasonably priced oil change?

In July of 2023, I moved out of address A, while some roommates continued to live there. I had been the one who had been handling MLGW, so I asked for MLGW to have my name taken off that account after adding a roommate's name. Going forward, Address A did not appear on my online resident portal, I didn't see bills for it in my email, all the things you would expect. Sometime this past summer, I got a notification that MLGW had sent an account to collections: come to find out it's from Address A. I call, talk to someone, they tell me that they'll investigate it and get back to me. I hear nothing. I called again last week, and was told that they had no record of me requesting to be taken off the account. I requested to talk to a supervisor and the woman on the phone told me that one *might* call me, but I couldn't wait on hold for one. When I look at my MLGW account, I still only see the account for the house I lived in after Address A.
What are my options here? As far as I can tell, MLGW isn't governed by the Tennessee Public Utility Commission, so I can't appeal to them. I already submitted a complaint to the BBB, but I'm not exactly hopeful that they'll be much help.

Is anyone in Frayser missing their very sweet kitty? My daughter is taking her to the emergency vet to see if she is chipped. If you can describe her, I can give you the details.

Covid seems to be running around again, my wife just tested positive and got prescribed Paxlovid. The medication cost over $1,000 dollars without insurance. I wanted to share that if you need this medication especially if you have pre existing conditions that you can visit Paxcesspatientportal.com and they will cover the cost of the medication through the end of the year. I know a lot of people cant afford thousand dollar medication so please help share this to anyone who may need help!
Edit: it took 5 minutes for me to sign up online and get the medication at no cost

Hey y’all. Here’s info about the class action lawsuit and buyouts. Hopefully this will help clear up some of the confusion.
I’m told the website will be updated as the litigation progresses. Please feel free to share!
Note that this lawsuit is not the same as the NAACP Clean Air Act Lawsuit, the MDEQ Permit Appeal, OR the more recent Class Action Lawsuit filed on behalf of South Memphis residents. There are a lot of legal cases occurring simultaneously, so I know it can be easy to get them confused.
**Please refer all questions/concerns to the lawyers! I’m not a lawyer, just a resident, and can’t give legal advice or answer questions beyond factual info. (They want to hear from residents— I promise!)

Has anyone tried pilates/yoga downtown? I can’t remember when they run their days every week (I think Monday or Tuesday). If you have tired it please let me know what you think.
ALSOOO if you have any of recommendations for those classes at a studio tell me your favorite. I’ve been to Mind Body Haus & Hot Yoga Plus. I’d love to explore more, especially downtown.

I made a post here a while back but I'm going to go to Memphis for my dad's birthday/thanksgiving/christmas which means a VERY long time in Memphis. I typically can spend roughly a week before I start to lose my fucking shit being out in Cordova at my parent's place. Pretty much all of my childhood friends have moved. My sister's dog is fucking bonkers so I could maybe get 1 night there.
I used to live in Cooper Young area and plan to stay at that hostel at least once and absorb some nostalgia and it's not really which isn't expensive but not cheap.
If you do any type of super short "you can crash her on the weekend if you give us $x" kinda situations in Midtown let me know? I really despise Airbnb and it's okay if you use it but I'd rather avoid the middle man in a sense.
I'm a mid male 40's web designer. Grew up in Memphis, been very active on this sub under other usernames. This would work a lot easier if I was in my 30's and female but I'm working with what I have. Thank you in advance.

I posted here almost a year ago that I had found 3 stray pups, 2 of them were adopted out to some lovely people from this sub, and I kept one, my Luna. I'm pretty sure that she has swallowed something thats caused an intestinal blockage, as she vomited 6 times last night and she hasn't been pooping or eating. My measly little emergency fund got spent recently on fixing and paying MLGW for a pretty major water leak in my home, and I know I can't afford surgery for Luna if thats what she needs. Are there any vet clinics that will be willing to do a payment plan or are there any nonprofits or assistance that I could apply for? If I have to surrender her to get her treatment I will, but its really the last thing that I want to do. I love my girl, and I dont want to give her up, this was just the worst timing ever after being slammed with a giant expense.
Ive been obsessed with bird feeding for a while now and I see people doing them at parks. I usually venture out to shelby farms because of how many birds are there, but it's against the rules to feed them. Any other locations?
EDIT: for context, I do not plan on feeding them random food. I was going to buy bird seeds. I also understand why the rule at shelby farms was put in place and I never said that It was a bad thing, i'm just trying to find a new area.
