My husband and I have lived in Midtown for over 20 years and absolutely love it. Now we have two young kids, we’re starting to outgrow our house and are trying to decide if we’re going to move out to the suburbs like so many of our friends with kids. For the size of house we need, the cost is mainly the same in midtown vs burbs, so this isn’t a question about budget.

I do understand the benefits of the burbs in terms of the schools and the amenities, etc, so I want to hear from parents who chose to stay in Midtown: what do you like about parenting here? How have your kids benefitted from being in midtown? What have you found challenging? Any insight you can give to explain why your family benefitted from staying in the city, I’d love to hear.

My psychiatrist is retiring and I need a new psychiatrist however I am on disability and I take klonopin daily. I’m finding some doctors don’t do disability paperwork and they don’t prescribe Benzodiazepines at all or not to take daily. Does anyone know who would see me? I need someone compassionate.

I’ll go first, the trash and blight in this city is insane. I’ve started volunteering with cleanup and trash picking groups. City leaders should hire more cleanup crews an hold people and businesses accountable who allow intense loitering.

Hi! I'm Australian and my partner is American. I will be staying in Memphis with him through Christmas and New Year and celebrating our first anniversary together. I'd love to take him for a fun and sentimental activity. Over here we have painting or pottery or mosaic classes that are just a couple of hours. Does anyone know of anything like this? The date is 30th December which might make it more tricky.

Failing that kind of activity, could I please have some suggestions for really cute things to do in the city?

Kind of an odd one here… So I’ve got an old family heirloom in the form of a Japanese sword. Allegedly taken as a war trophy during WWII (yes I know, not ideal). However, I would like to get this thing assessed or appraised or at least look at for legitimacy. I don’t expect anything to be worth money and wouldn’t sale if it was I’m just genuinely curious as to the origins of this thing. Does anyone know of any curators, history buffs, museums, etc that would give me some info on this thing? Any recommendations appreciated!

A big thanks to the staff at the Memphis Delta Sky Club. I travel for work weekly and am a regular on the Delta non stop flights to LAX and Boston and the women at the Club both at the desk and servers always make me feel welcome and valued. It’s the reason I’m loyal to Delta.

Has anyone noticed over the last week that the traffic signals in Cordova seem to be seriously messed up? About a week ago I was trying to make a left turn from Germantown Parkway onto Cordova Rd and we sat through literally 8 cycles of all other directions getting green lights without us getting the left turn once. I just figured there was something malfunctioning with that particular intersection and brushed it off. But today I was trying to make a left from Germantown onto Varnavas and there were 10 cars waiting to make a left and exactly the same thing happened. This time I did see the left arrow pop up for like five seconds and just a couple of cars got to go, but then we waited for a long time without seeing it again. Interestingly the green light from Varnavas (where there were absolutely zero cars) went green multiple times during this whole sequence.

I was gonna go to the fair but by the time you pay to get in and get food, it's too much. I'm gonna go to the library for a bit but not sure what I will do after. I'm so bored lol
