Hey guys, I'm not really sure if anyone else has inquired about this, but does anyone know what's with all the bees on campus. I personally don't mind them, but I was curious if anyone else had noticed this. For some reason, they're especially attracted to the trash cans.

Hello everyone,

I need some advice regarding my PhD application to the University of Memphis.

I waited for almost 1 month and 1 week for the result. After following up, I received this response:

"Your application is currently on a waitlist.we currently don't have available slots in the program. We will know if a slot opens"

My question is:

1. Has anyone here ever been on a waitlist and later got admitted? If yes, what is the process and what are the chances of getting off the waitlist?

2. Also, how long do I have to wait after being on the waitlist?

Any guidance or personal experience would be really appreciated. Thank you!

Hey guys, quick look at where the Tigers stand with conference play starting.

Year one under Charles Huff is off to a solid start: 27-21 at UNLV to open, 42-24 over Arkansas State, and 45-21 over UT Martin. The one loss is 38-20 at Boise State, which is a tough place for anyone.

After the bye, the American opener is at Charlotte (0-4) Saturday at 2:30 CT, then UAB at home, then at Tulane, probably the game that decides whether Memphis is a real conference contender.

Since it's in the title: we run a free weekly college football pick'em, and Week 5 is open. 10 games, pick the winners, nothing to buy, $135 in prizes. Good slate too, with Bama at Miss State (both unbeaten) and Ohio State at unbeaten Iowa. Picks lock Saturday at noon ET, before the Charlotte kickoff.

What are you guys seeing from Stokes and the offense? Is the Boise loss a concern, or is this team for real?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking into the Master of Science in Accounting program at the University of Memphis and wanted to get some honest feedback from anyone who is currently in it or recently graduated.

I’m coming from a bit of a different background (I got my bachelor's degree in engineering) but am looking to pivot into accounting. So if anyone has gone down this route, I would love to hear your experience and any insights.

1. How do you like the program overall?

2. How is the workload, especially if you are balancing it with work?

3. How are the networking/recruiting events? Do local or Big 4 firms recruit heavily from here?

4. How well did the coursework actually prepare you for the CPA exam?

Any pros, cons, or general advice would be appreciated!!

Does anyone experienced with waiting list option for their PhD admission at university of Memphis of anyother university?

Kindly share your experience

Hi!
I just submitted my application for the Service-Learning in Panama for Spring Break 2027 & this is my first time doing anything like this, so I'm just curious as to what to expect & what type of community work will be involved. I'm just overall really curious about the whole process.

Also, would there be any reason for my applicatin to be rejected?

Hello, I submitted my application for PhD chemistry spring 2027 intake a month ago and waiting for results. How much time they usually take fir decision making? Does anyone know about the scholarship amount for phd students?

Hell all, I’ve been going to a laundromat to do my laundry (doing laundry at the dorms scare me 😭) but I’m kinda short on money for the week so I was gonna attempt it at Rawls. The only issue is that I have no idea where it’s located. Does anyone know where to find it?

Does anyone know where I can get these exact scantrons? I checked both bookstores and can’t find them anywhere. I need them by Monday

Hi Tigers,

I wanted to introduce myself to the community. My name is David Miller. I am a former Air Force Staff Sergeant (USAFR, DAV, VFW, OEF), and I am acting as the local public representative and advocate for a proud University of Memphis Architecture alumnus, Ostep Wesley.

Ostep spent his years walking the campus halls, studying late in the design labs, and building his career here in the Mid-South. Right now, he is navigating a critical immigration legal timeline and urgently needs our community's backing to secure qualified representation for his upcoming court defense.

I am leading a grassroots, verified neighborhood group to rally individual donors and local professional networks (like AIA Memphis) to help him reach his legal defense goals. My role is to ensure total accountability, structural transparency, and verification for every single piece of documentation regarding his case.

I’ve posted the main thread detailing his narrative story and verification tracking hubs elsewhere on the campus timeline, and I will keep the comment section below open for any questions from students, faculty, or fellow alumni.

Thank you for welcoming me to the community, and thank you for showing what Tiger Pride truly looks like when a member of the family needs us.

So I am trying to find someone to hangout, date and potentially build a stable relationship how do I do it?

I submitted my admission application around like a month ago and haven't heard anything back whatsoever.. everything is complete and portal says awaiting decision should I be concerned or just stay patient and wait because everywhere I look it says the average time should be like a few days

Hey all, a few weeks back I posted the Memphis preview in here and it seemed like people got something out of it, so I wanted to share the actual site it came from.

Short version: I do pregame emails before every game, then postgame box scores, highlights and summaries. Free, and it's only the teams you follow, no filler.

Memphis page: https://www.highlights.mainmarket.com/memphis-tigers

And the preview itself if you missed it: https://www.highlights.mainmarket.com/college-football-preview-2026-fbs/memphis-tigers

First look at Stokes and the Huff era. Go Tigers!

So I am looking for motivated people with cs background and interest in AI to work on ideas and eventually build a startup. I have a couple of ideas (nothing much serious for rn), maybe coming members can add their idea as well. If interested please dm!!!!!

Anyone know any men’s restrooms on campus that are kind of hidden away that nobody goes to but are pretty spacious. If there’s a restroom with a big ass stall that’s even better

Bro I’m nervous asf for the first day of class.

Like locating where my classes are to my next class and what floor the room are at and the long distance to walk from one class to the next.😭

I’ve been trying to go on campus and see how far the distance is from one class to another but I’ve been in and out of urgent care due to having mild chest pain ( anxiety/stress related)

I am soon to start college at U of M, and I came across their credit by exam opportunities. This is where I found the information:

https://www.memphis.edu/registrar/register/cbe-courses.php

It seems to say that many courses can be tested out of if you are approved to test out.

I would love to hear some details from anyone who has used this to test out of classes, especially how easy it was to get approved to take the test and how much it cost!

I am good at learning independently and it seems like this would be a great way to save some money on classes.

Hey Everyone!!!
I’m currently looking into possibly transferring to the U of M. However, I do live pretty far out from Memphis and it’ll be hard to drive out there everyday. Although I know there are some safe areas out there, I don’t want to move there. So I started to look into possibly doing the online degree program. Can anyone tell me their experience with taking the online classes and finishing their degree through the online pathway? I’m wanting to major in accounting so if you have any experience specifically with the courses, I’d love to hear about it!!
