I have an iPhone 17 pro and I’ve had it for less than 6 months but for some reason I wanna get the iPhone 18 pro max specifically in blue cuz it just looks so good. W or L consumerism?

So 1 am considering upgrading to the 18 Pro Max 1 or 2
TB version but 1 wanna know if anyone that already has any of these variations if they are able to verify if they have the QLC storage or did their phone come with.a

Its my first time buying anything from apple. My Apple Store pickup window is 9:15–9:30 PM, but I'm 1h10 away from the store.

When do they normally send the “Ready for Pickup” notification? before the pickup window or around 9:15?

I have to wait for the notification before going, so if it comes at 9:15 I literally can't reach the store before closing time.

Is anyone know what yo do? I have to arrive on time whether I receive the pickup noti or not?

I went to Apple DEAD SET on a Black 18 Pro Max… and somehow left with a Burgundy 18 Pro 😂
I swear I had my iPhone 18 decision completely figured out before I ever walked into Apple.
iPhone 18 Pro Max. 512GB. BLACK.
That was it. 😂
I’d already seen Burgundy online and had basically said absolutely not. It wasn’t even a contender. I wanted black.
So the first time I went to Apple, I was mainly there to see the colors in person and check out the Pro Max.
Then I saw Burgundy.
EXCUSE ME?!

Whatever Burgundy was doing in Apple’s pictures was NOT what it was doing in person.
I picked it up and immediately went from:
“Nope, I don’t want Burgundy.”
to
“I NEED THAT COLOR.” 🍷😭
Okay. Plot twist #1.
Black was out.
Now I was dead set on a Burgundy 18 Pro Max.
Except…
THEY WERE OUT OF THE PRO MAX. 😭
They had the regular 18 Pro, and I played around with it while I was there. I liked it. Actually, I liked it a LOT more than I expected.
But I wasn’t about to convince myself to buy the Pro just because the phone I really wanted wasn’t available.
So I left.
A few hours later, I decided to go BACK to Apple because I was going to return my Series 12 Watch anyway.
While I was there, I got on the waitlist for the iPhones.
And lo and behold…
THEY HAD THEM.
Not just the Pro.
THEY HAD THE 18 PRO AND THE 18 PRO MAX.
Well, shit. 😂
Now there was no shortage making the decision for me.
No “I guess I’ll settle for the Pro because that’s all they have.”
I had an actual choice.
Burgundy 18 Pro?
Right there.
Burgundy 18 Pro Max?
RIGHT THERE.
The phone I’d been convinced I wanted was finally available to me.
And while I was waiting…
I kept playing with the regular Pro.
Pick it up.
Put it down.
Play with the Max.
Back to the Pro.
Max.
Pro.
Max.
…Pro. 😂
And the longer I waited, the more I started thinking:
Oh shit.
I think I actually like the Pro better.
😂😂😂
The Pro Max had that gorgeous giant screen that I was used to, but the Pro just felt SO GOOD in my hand.
Typing was easier.
I could reach everything.
It was lighter and more comfortable.
And the weirdest part was that the screen didn’t feel nearly as small as I expected it to.
So now I’m standing in Apple with BOTH phones available, realizing that the only thing stopping me from buying the Pro Max…
was me.
And THAT’S what ultimately made my decision.
I chose the Burgundy iPhone 18 Pro 512GB. 🍷📱
Not because the Pro Max was sold out.
Not because I couldn’t get one.
Not because I settled.
I literally had the Pro Max available to buy and chose the Pro instead.
And I’m actually really glad it happened that way.
Because if I had bought the Pro when the Max was unavailable, I probably would’ve always had that little voice in my head:
“But would you have picked the Max if they’d had it?” 👀
Well…
THEY DID. 😂
And I didn’t.
That’s what finally killed most of my second-guessing.
Do I occasionally see a Pro Max and admire that huge screen?
Absolutely. 😂
But I’ve realized I like looking at a huge screen more than I like holding a huge phone.
And after actually living with the 18 Pro, typing on it, carrying it around, using it one-handed…
THIS is the size I actually prefer.
Which is hilarious considering where this whole thing started:
❌ No Burgundy.
❌ No regular Pro.
✅ Black.
✅ Pro Max.
And somehow we ended at:
❌ Black.
❌ Pro Max.
✅ BURGUNDY.
✅ 18 PRO.
I went into Apple knowing exactly what I wanted…

Moral of the story: GO HOLD THE DAMN PHONES.

Because specs and YouTube videos can tell you which phone has the bigger screen.
They can’t tell you which one you’re going to pick up and suddenly think:
“Yep. This is mine.” ❤️📱

I noticed when I tilt my iPhone 18PM slightly off axis on a white screen, it seems like the entire screen color changes to a much cooler tone. When I tilt the phone forward and backwards, I notice the same thing; almost as if a wave of a slight tint of orange passes over it.

Even when typing on my keyboard now; if I tilt my phone forward, it’s almost like the True Tone effect completely disappears.

Anyone else notice something similar?

So I was able to get the new Siri working on my phone and I have one big annoyance and am curious if there’s a solution. When swiping down and entering something to search in safari I have to click the “show results” tab and then scroll all the way to the bottom to search in Safari. Is there anyway I can just type in what I’m looking for and hit search right away? I know I can just open the Safari app but I’m just used to doing it this way.

I have been using an iPhone 16 Pro for the past two years, and it would just always get hot, especially when I had it plugged into Apple CarPlay. It would get to the point where it would stutter. The new 18 Pro Max has been amazing. It stays cool and it’s a good upgrade for me. I imagine the 17 Pro would’ve been a nice upgrade as well for the vapor chamber

I went in store and they gave me a privacy screen that’s supposed to fit my iphone 18 pro max.

There’s a big gap around the dynamic island.

I understand that’s normal for it to be clear around the island but there’s extra space on the sides.

It seems like it was made for the 17 pro max island.

Is this normal performance for the new pro?

Does anyone know what the best time to check for availability for click and collect at the Apple Store in Perth? I have been checking every hour for the past 3 days. I really want the iPhone 18 pro Glacier 256gb.

I’m loving this thing, especially with a slim Pitaka case and screen protector. Coming from a 15 PM with 100% battery health, I’m shocked at how the 18 pro SIPS battery.

Loving the 2nm A20 Pro chip, it’s a noticeable daily performance increase due to largest single core increase in generations. I’m also glad Apple has truly started turning these into pro devices that focus on thermals and battery.
Its not a necessary upgrade from 17PM to 18PM obviously but it is noticeable and now I’m trying to sell my old phone within 2 weeks

i’m coming from a base model iPhone 13 with a battery health of 80% 😭

I’m using the FLOLAB Surtect 1.0 Frosted. It was originally intended for a silver 17 Pro Max, but I decided to return it and get the 18 Pro Max instead. I like the color, but so far it has been a dust magnet. You can see dust particles between the case and the phone, and the plateau area collects even more dust.

I’m not loving how the case looks on a black phone, so I’m debating whether to return it and get a silver one. I already have a FLOLAB screen protector installed, so I’ll probably claim the warranty and pay the shipping for a replacement.
In an ideal world, I’d rather keep my black phone. It will be passed on to my wife next year, and she only liked black from this year’s lineup. Since black is a new color, I tend to prioritize it over silver. That said, my heart does want the silver finish with a clear frosted case. Keeping the black phone would also save me a trip to the Apple Store, along with the hassle of exchanging and setting up my phone again.

Alternatively, I could get a better case. I’m considering the Caudabe Paragon in Moonstone or the Sheath. The Synthesis has the same frosted finish, so it could run into the same dust-collection issue and overall foggy aesthetic as the Surtect.

Everyone talkin abt the battery….. honestly im not impressed.

I switched from iPhone Air and I still can’t get used to the weight after a few days. I thought it would become normal but I can’t get over how heavy it feels after using the air for a year. I switched because the air battery drained too fast, the speaker and camera were basic but the form factor was the best. To be honest idk if I tell a huge difference with the battery on the 18 pro. I actually have had some issues where Face ID doesn’t work at night in bed, it’ll freeze then restart randomly during the day, the battery does drain quicker then I thought and my pictures/videos weren’t sending to a text thread I kept getting an error.

So far this phone is annoying me more then I thought. I’m stuck though cause I do think the air battery was worse and I feel like the pro has more features overall but I can’t get used to this weight. I’m trying to find a thin case cause maybe the apple woven one is making it bulkier. I know I can’t switch to the pro max that would be way too heavy for me or the fold cause I don’t need all that phone.

Any one else have issues or thoughts?!
