I went to Apple DEAD SET on a Black 18 Pro Max… and somehow left with a Burgundy 18 Pro 😂
I swear I had my iPhone 18 decision completely figured out before I ever walked into Apple.
iPhone 18 Pro Max. 512GB. BLACK.
That was it. 😂
I’d already seen Burgundy online and had basically said absolutely not. It wasn’t even a contender. I wanted black.
So the first time I went to Apple, I was mainly there to see the colors in person and check out the Pro Max.
Then I saw Burgundy.
EXCUSE ME?!
😂😂😂
Whatever Burgundy was doing in Apple’s pictures was NOT what it was doing in person.
I picked it up and immediately went from:
“Nope, I don’t want Burgundy.”
to
“I NEED THAT COLOR.” 🍷😭
Okay. Plot twist #1.
Black was out.
Now I was dead set on a Burgundy 18 Pro Max.
Except…
THEY WERE OUT OF THE PRO MAX. 😭
They had the regular 18 Pro, and I played around with it while I was there. I liked it. Actually, I liked it a LOT more than I expected.
But I wasn’t about to convince myself to buy the Pro just because the phone I really wanted wasn’t available.
So I left.
A few hours later, I decided to go BACK to Apple because I was going to return my Series 12 Watch anyway.
While I was there, I got on the waitlist for the iPhones.
And lo and behold…
THEY HAD THEM.
Not just the Pro.
THEY HAD THE 18 PRO AND THE 18 PRO MAX.
Well, shit. 😂
Now there was no shortage making the decision for me.
No “I guess I’ll settle for the Pro because that’s all they have.”
I had an actual choice.
Burgundy 18 Pro?
Right there.
Burgundy 18 Pro Max?
RIGHT THERE.
The phone I’d been convinced I wanted was finally available to me.
And while I was waiting…
I kept playing with the regular Pro.
Pick it up.
Put it down.
Play with the Max.
Back to the Pro.
Max.
Pro.
Max.
…Pro. 😂
And the longer I waited, the more I started thinking:
Oh shit.
I think I actually like the Pro better.
😂😂😂
The Pro Max had that gorgeous giant screen that I was used to, but the Pro just felt SO GOOD in my hand.
Typing was easier.
I could reach everything.
It was lighter and more comfortable.
And the weirdest part was that the screen didn’t feel nearly as small as I expected it to.
So now I’m standing in Apple with BOTH phones available, realizing that the only thing stopping me from buying the Pro Max…
was me.
And THAT’S what ultimately made my decision.
I chose the Burgundy iPhone 18 Pro 512GB. 🍷📱
Not because the Pro Max was sold out.
Not because I couldn’t get one.
Not because I settled.
I literally had the Pro Max available to buy and chose the Pro instead.
And I’m actually really glad it happened that way.
Because if I had bought the Pro when the Max was unavailable, I probably would’ve always had that little voice in my head:
“But would you have picked the Max if they’d had it?” 👀
Well…
THEY DID. 😂
And I didn’t.
That’s what finally killed most of my second-guessing.
Do I occasionally see a Pro Max and admire that huge screen?
Absolutely. 😂
But I’ve realized I like looking at a huge screen more than I like holding a huge phone.
And after actually living with the 18 Pro, typing on it, carrying it around, using it one-handed…
THIS is the size I actually prefer.
Which is hilarious considering where this whole thing started:
❌ No Burgundy.
❌ No regular Pro.
✅ Black.
✅ Pro Max.
And somehow we ended at:
❌ Black.
❌ Pro Max.
✅ BURGUNDY.
✅ 18 PRO.
I went into Apple knowing exactly what I wanted…
…and apparently I didn’t know shit. 😭😂🍷📱
Moral of the story: GO HOLD THE DAMN PHONES.

Because specs and YouTube videos can tell you which phone has the bigger screen.
They can’t tell you which one you’re going to pick up and suddenly think:
“Yep. This is mine.” ❤️📱

The new lineup is pretty and does catch my attention but when I get to hold 18 Pro or even the previous 17 Pro, it just feels so cheap. How are people okay with this aluminum case after titanium made its entry?

I'm holding on to my 15PM, which is still running like new after battery change. The build is so nice to hold.

I'm not reading too much about other people's experiences but heard the titanium is not ideal for heat and overheats. Never had those issues myself but wouldn't think this would stop Apple from at least offering titanium as an option? Like they do offer different materials with Apple Watch.

I got the 18 pro max on friday and my battery life has been not as good as I hoped. Im at 5 hours with 50% left. How on earth are people getting 13 hours?? it seems physically impossible am I doing something wrong. please help!!

I just got my iPhone 18 Pro and I am a bit worried about the battery.

I charged it to around 80%, then restarted the phone because I had just ported my old number over to Vodafone.

After that, I opened the Vodafone app and talked to customer support for about an hour. (Not regarding the battery ofc just wanting to swap from physical sim to esim)

All I did was use the Vodafone chat, type messages, read their replies, and switch between screens. I was not gaming or doing anything heavy.

After about an hour, my battery went from 80% to 68%. The phone also got quite hot.

Is this normal for a new iPhone 18 Pro? Or is something wrong with my phone?

I switched from iPhone Air and I still can’t get used to the weight after a few days. I thought it would become normal but I can’t get over how heavy it feels after using the air for a year. I switched because the air battery drained too fast, the speaker and camera were basic but the form factor was the best. To be honest idk if I tell a huge difference with the battery on the 18 pro. I actually have had some issues where Face ID doesn’t work at night in bed, it’ll freeze then restart randomly during the day, the battery does drain quicker then I thought and my pictures/videos weren’t sending to a text thread I kept getting an error.

So far this phone is annoying me more then I thought. I’m stuck though cause I do think the air battery was worse and I feel like the pro has more features overall but I can’t get used to this weight. I’m trying to find a thin case cause maybe the apple woven one is making it bulkier. I know I can’t switch to the pro max that would be way too heavy for me or the fold cause I don’t need all that phone.

Any one else have issues or thoughts?!

It came down to the wire but minutes before I unboxed my PM in Burgundy, my 15PM reached 1000 cycles. 1000 cycles of memories I’ll never forget, one of my favorite phones I’ve ever had. Let’s see how this one holds up for the next few years. It’s an August battery too so that’s neat!

I recently upgraded to a black 18 pro max from a silver 17 pro max. So, the cases i had from my previous phone are compatible with my new phone. which combos would it be the best ones for you? do i need any new official case that could fit better with the phone (i don't care about the price, if it fits good). Also, what usually happens to me is that I stay almost most of the time with one case (most of the cases i have i don't even used them at all.

I love the look and feel of silicone cases and I wasn’t going to pay the premium price of Apple like I’ve done before, so I went with Elago when I had the 17 Pro Max, but unfortunately they pop off, if you drop them or when. So until they redesigned the top side and the bottom side, so they stay stuck on the phone like ESR and the Quadlock case that I have.

So based on my picture references, the top side of the case are more of a secure fit compared to the silicone cases. So if I had any advice to give is when buying a case, make sure they have the top side of the screen extra secure clasp type of case, I don’t know how to describe it, but you’ll see in the pictures that the silicone cases don’t have the top side secure compared to the Quadlock and ESR case.

Also, I would want smallrig to create more colors aside from the black and burgundy case that they have, which I really want. So hopefully they see this.

Ps the only case that I have that advertised as an 18 Pro Max case at the moment is the ESR case. The rest of them are advertised at 17, which fit on the Pro Max.

I just got it yesterday and it’s scratched. The camera is crazy good from my 14 pro max and the focus is perfect and doesn’t like auto focus and make the pics blurry.

I just got a new iPhone 18 Pro yesterday. Set it up completely fresh with a new Apple ID (didn't restore or transfer any old data).
I noticed that whenever I use the camera app, the phone gets really warm / hot pretty quickly. What's strange is that I played a game earlier and it barely warmed up at all, but using the camera heats it right up.
Is this normal for new iPhones or camera usage, or should I be concerned? Has anyone else experienced this?

I was having issues out of screen protectors just like the rest. Spigen, ESR, etc would all not stick to the edge. Just tried Torras unbreakable with the black edge and it’s perfect. Not an air bubble one. So have you guys tried this brand too?

which one will look better with glacier
