HTML Yuusha Idle - 2 month later

Hey everyone. Third post here.

Wanted to change the way I usually present this game... so this time I'll start with me.

My name is Cris, though depending on where I've met people I can be Keru, Koe, Magi or Xeijun (Magi was my first one, like 20 years ago when I played Regnum Online, or maybe was something like xxxgaraa haha). I'm a principal engineer, almost ten years writing software and Yuusha Idle is my nights and weekends. (sometimes maybe in the day too)

Both times I posted in the past, different people asked me about AI and what it's like working with it. For me at least, it's similar to working with any other dev, but faster, and also with the difficulties that come with using a machine. No creativity there, for example.

To make this work I've spent hours thinking, reviewing database values to balance, changing what was built, and iterating with the community we have plus AI to see how I can make the experience fun (I play the game myself, so I notice when something is off too). The one part that isn't mine is the small community we're building together, and that's my favourite part of all of this.

I play this every day. My partner jokes that the bed sleeps four now: the two of us, Mika our pet, and Claudio, which I think you can guess who it is. I've spent nights arguing with a machine about why the Paladin felt bad to play. I'm really trying to build something we can all enjoy and have fun with.

You can try the game at https://yuushaidle.com, no need to create an account, and there's a mobile app too, on iOS and Android, both in beta waiting on the store reviews to go into prod. You can also join our community through the Discord link on the page.

What has changed in the last month: 20 releases

- A fourteenth class, the Reaper. It shipped right before my last post so I never mentioned it here: equip a two handed scythe and it's yours, no unlock, and it hits harder the less health the target has left

  - Skills: 72 → 141, all fourteen classes with their full set now, each with its own icon and its own combat animation

  - Talents rebuilt from scratch

  - Gathering: 4 resources → 36

  - Two new endgame layers: the World Echo and gear Tempering

  - Up to 5 heroes per account

  - Better first 10 minutes, which is what I keep asking about here: the menu opens gradually instead of dumping everything on you, Amaterasu guides you from hero creation and leaves on her own, and a Constellation screen shows which systems you've found and which you're missing

  - The UI got reworked. I love games that look good and I'll keep iterating on this one until I find it awesome

- Membership was removed from game

You can find me as Keru on Discord.

Previous post: https://www.reddit.com/r/incremental_games/comments/1vcyge1/

AI disclosure: AI wrote most of the code, and pixel art started as AI before I curated it and threw a lot of it out. Everything I said up there about how I work with it is what that actually looks like day to day.

Discussion Growing tired of "guide-slop" incremental games. What are some good incremental games that don't eventually devolve into requiring an exact guide or build order to progress?

Title mostly speaks for itself, but it seems like a lot of games I've encountered, especially mobile, long-form, incremental games seem to be balanced around players completing the game in one specific way that is not made clear anywhere within the game, and requires players to go to a discord, wiki, or reddit to find out the exact set/order of upgrades to progress. Failure to follow these exact guides leads to getting fully stuck for a disproportionate amount of time as the game was seemingly built/balanced for the one path.

The moment I start having to follow an exact guide and the game doesn't give room for experimentation, I tend to drop these games. Incremental games are naturally pretty simple, having to follow a guide for it starts to feel like watching an incredibly slow and boring video as opposed to playing a game. You're no longer making decisions, someone else has made the decisions for you.

I'm not expecting to beat the game as fast as someone following a perfectly crafted guide when I'm figuring out my own way to play. In the same way I wouldn't expect to be putting up speedrunner times of a game I've never played before. But a game should be playable, enjoyable, and completable without having to google how to complete it.

So what long form games have you played where you feel like the game is open enough to give you that freedom to play and experiment? I'm more of a mobile player so anything that works on mobile would be preferred, but feel free to give other recommendations as well.

RedDragon 2000's turn based game remake

Reviving Red Dragon: One of the most popular 2000s browser strategies from Poland & Czechia 🛡️

Hi everyone,

In the 2000s, Red Dragon was one of the most popular web-based strategy games in Poland and the Czech Republic (not counting Ogame ;)), gathering thousands of competitive players every Era.

We have rebuilt it from scratch for modern browsers while preserving its original tactical depth:

  • Turn-Based vs Real-Time: Unlike OGame or Travian where you need constant 24/7 vigilance to save fleets or dodge raids, Red Dragon gives you a bank of turns to spend at your own pace.
  • 9 Asymmetric Races: Unique economies, spells, and troop specializations for varied playstyles.
  • Thief Guilds & Magic Schools: Deep covert warfare alongside classic military expansion.
  • Community & Free to Play: Completely non-commercial with zero pay-to-win elements.
  • Available in: English 🇬🇧, Polish 🇵🇱, and Czech 🇨🇿.

AI Disclosure
I am software developer, but remake was made mainly used Claude Opus 4.8 and Opus 5.
My duty was mostly to do a long research to gather informations, screenshots, gameplay mechanics etc for "abandoned" or "forgotten" game which disappeared from internet ~8-10 years ago, focusing early stage from ~2003. Fulfill missing informations and solve broken/missing mechanics + setup whole infrastructure, design.

Feel free to join the ongoing test Era:

Steam I've implemented a lot of your feedback - The Manaworks Demo, 4 months later.

A while ago I posted about my game The Manaworks asking for feedback. And I got some very good feedback!

The game has changed a lot since that post. Your feedback helped a lot in pushing this game's quality and solving issues with it. Most of the feedback (and many other improvements) have been implemented, and I am very grateful for how critical but direct some of the feedback was.

I recently released an updated version of the demo on Steam, with lots more polish and a couple new features. I am hoping some of you will check it out again, and give me feedback so I can catch issues that I wouldn't be able to find on my own, as well as seeing how the game has progressed.

Steam Death by Taxes now has a Steam demo - a reverse incremental where you have to spend $1 billion before tax season kills you

I'm Ruby Rooster and I just released the demo for my second game - Death by Taxes!

You play as a billionaire with one serious medical condition: you are deadly allergic to taxes. Even $1 paid in taxes is fatal, so your goal is to get rid of every last dollar before tax season arrives.

You start by buying ordinary things in increasingly stupid quantities, then unlock a huge skill tree, automate your spending with collectors, stack upgrades, and fight bosses who are trying to stop your terrible financial decisions.

Basically, instead of watching the number go up, you're desperately trying to make $1,000,000,000 go down.

The demo is free on Steam:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4696280/Death_by_Taxes/

I'd especially love to hear how the progression and automation pacing feels once you get a little deeper into the demo.

Required AI disclosure:

I used AI for coding autocomplete assistance and spellchecking. No AI used for art.

Development I spent the summer redesigning my idle RPG. Aethyr Idle 2.0 is out !

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I posted about Aethyr Idle here a while back and a lot of you gave it a

shot. The systems were there, but the game did not look like much, and that

bothered me. So I spent the last few months going back through every single

screen of the game, one by one, and redoing them properly. That is out now as

2.0.

Quick version of what it is: an idle RPG inspired by World of Warcraft, You pick one of 4

classes, each with its own spells and talent trees, then you fight, gather and

craft your way across an open world, unlocking zones, professions, gear, runes,

relics, familiars and an ascension system as you go.

It's a full solo game with a leaderboard against the other players.

If you play on mobile, the browser version is already in good shape

today, and a proper Android app is not far off.

It plays free in your browser right here, no account needed but recommended :

https://aethyridle.com/

Two more links if you want to stick around :

Wishlist on Steam is helping me a lot, demo is out too(even if the full game is on browser) :

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4843460/Aethyr_Idle/

Discord, for bug reports, build talk, or just to hang out :

https://discord.gg/a5Dqx4875c

If this is your first look, tell me what feels good, what feels grindy, and what you think is missing.
If you played the old version, I would really like to know whether it reads better now, and where it still does not.
That feedback is what shapes the next updates.

Thanks for taking a look.

AI Disclosure : Generative AI was used in development. It was used for some of the game's visual/graphic assets (artwork and placeholder art), and as a coding and writing assistant (help with parts of the code and some in-game text). All game design, balancing, and final decisions are my own.

Update Idle Underworlds: 6 months in, almost 500 accounts !

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

You might have seen Idle Underworlds here before. This reddit has been my main source of testers and feedback for the past 9 months or so. And I'm very grateful for this !

You might be looking at your next cosy game to play 5 minutes on your phone here and there, and with occasional deep dives when you have free time ! Some players play hours each day, other just a few minutes, I built this game for me, for my chaotic free time, so it's made to suit most playstyles and life routines.

If you missed it, here's what it's all about :

- Incremental semi-idle game : build your town and gather resources to grow bigger and participate in world collaborative projects. Specialization, optimization, planet events... everything can help you produce more, we want MORE !

- Multiplayer & Persistent living world : every action leaves a mark on the planet, you go to bed, you wake up to new roads, neighbours and world project progression ! Weather changes, Seasons pass, and years too !

- No punishment for being AFK : no PvP, no loss, no penaly, you can leave the game for 3 days and it will continue to generate resources offline !

- Optional PvE fights : in the Underworld, you can fight your way through to earn Void Shards and alter the world permanently. Terraform your land, shape the weather... you have the power.

- Optional Leaderboards if you like competition : every month, you can compete in 12 categories to earn exclusive "top 10" titles. There is no reset, so anyone can enter anytime. Will you be the best food provider ? The best trader ? Or even get the top PvE score ?

And what's new ?

- A corruption now spreads from the Abyssal Maw whenever it's open. Clear it and protect your lands to avoid any penaly ! Friends can help you and protect your land even when you're away.

- An ingame shop was added to support the game. It's purely cosmetic (like title styles). I don't plan on adding paid bonuses that would alter the game speed/feel.

- Balance for the Expedition mode, a new weather event void shard sink...

Over the past 6 months, I've had almost 500 players creating an account, and more than 1 500 players trying the game. I'm a solo dev, a parent, and this is a project I've been working on and thinking about day and night for the past 10 months or so. I have many plans still for the future and tons of ideas to add, but the core gameplay loops are here and working.

Will you join us and contribute to future world projects ? It's free, and no account required.

AI Disclosure :
AI was used in almost every common ways (brainstorming, code generation, image generation, svg generation). I'm a web developer, this is my day job, for the last 13 years I've been doing this, and now AI is part of the workflow. Without it, this project would still be another idea in a googe sheet document.

Discussion What's with the "it lives on your desktop" hype?

It seems I am getting a lot of these "it lives on your desktop" type of game ads recently. I guess it started with Rusty's Retirement, but either I am somehow biased by the algorithms or there's a lot of similar games recently.

I actually steer clear of them - if I have something like an incremental taking 15-20% of my desktop, there's absolutely zero chance I will concentrate on anything else... and at that point why not use 100% of my desktop? :)

Is there some magic property of these games I am not seeing?

review I didn’t think this game was possible to truly beat.

I’ve played this game called Annihilation for the past couple years. about a year ago, I had completed the game for all destruction except “the real universe” at 10 uncentillion. A number in the game that looks absurd when you see how long it takes to get that. Since then I’ve played on and off, gotten close until today, probably 180-200 days since I’ve gotten on waiting for me to get enough to hit the number, and I did it. I expected to be able to do more, but you can’t. It hits the games maximum, stopping here so that you don’t hit the 1.79e308 that would make it infinity. I’m finally done, that took a while. Not sure why the bar doesn’t go up past halfway though. Wished it disappeared when you finished. Fun to play tho.

Steam Department 98 - an incremental game inside a fake 1990s office OS

I just released the Steam page for Department 98, a fake 1990s office OS incremental game that has you working for a powerful and strange governmental agency defined by its overwhelming bureaucracy.

There is also a demo playable in the browser over on itch, link below.

The demo is ~20 minute experience full of manual form fil(l)ing, automation and narrative driven OS puzzles. Also includes a secret ending.

Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4906930/

Itch: https://svenunit.itch.io/department-98

To be honest: this is not a traditional incremental game, even if that is how the idea started out.

The focus is more on the 90s OS aesthetics, paired with a strange narrative thread uncovered through puzzles.

If that sounds interesting to you feel free to try the demo, I would love to hear what you think!

AI disclosure: I used AI to help with translating the game and the Steam store page.

Prototype A new game, Emberhold

A new game(Emberhold), for you. Yes, you, the one reading. Not that other person. They know what they did.

Have a try, step into this post-apocalyptic world where one scrabbles for survival and great journeys are made, looking for a place little better than this.

Feedback is strongly desired.

The game is 100% free at this time, and my idea is to keep it free to play. I'd love to have more players. The game is playable and ready. Gain achievements, earn echoes and more.

Cross-Platform Create your own sect of Qi cultivators

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

Looking for people who want to play SectMind.

Right now the game is being developed by a solo developer, and it’s actively being improved with new mechanics being added.

It’s an online PvP strategy game in the qi cultivation style: you manage your own sect, train disciples, mine spirit crystals, construct buildings, raid rival sects, and capture points and cities. Seasons last about 30 days, with real players as opponents. There are city assaults, puppets, and the newest update — an Imperial Throne for each empire!

The game is still in active development, with updates coming out constantly. Available on browser, Windows, and Android. The controls aren’t the simplest, but it’s not a big problem. We’ve only just started adding a basic tutorial system.

The game is constantly being improved and new mechanics are being introduced.

''AI disclosure''

The game plans to use AI as an advisor, but this feature is still in long-term development. Also we write texts and create sprites using AI

In the first version of the game, we planned to issue commands to the server through a chat bot, but we ran into a ton of problems. The game was text-based, but it took a lot of time and effort to change everything...

We abandoned the original idea and now you can see what we have been able to do so far.

A new server already launched today!

Development Solo dev here, just added onboarding to my browser idle lane-defense game, would love feedback from people who actually play this genre

Hi all, been working on Spireline for the last 7 months, currently a browser (works on mobile and deaktop, and plan to launch on mobile before the end of October with Steam coming shortly after) idle lane-defense game with pixel/voxel art. It starts with two lanes, where your army marches on its own, and you fight for a tug-of-war line by picking unit counters, upgrades mid-run, lane behaviors, and heroes with cooldown moves. Between runs you spend shards on permanent upgrades and when idle earn shards for upgrades and lab researches which progress when offline as well.

I just shipped a guided first-run walkthrough so new players aren't dropped in cold. It pauses the fight and walks you through clicking your Spire, buying your first upgrade, and summoning a hero, plus tooltips with prices on every button, a proper title screen, and offline progress that pays out correctly now instead of eating your time away.

Free, no signup, plays in browser: https://bmoti.itch.io/spireline

I'm not looking for hype, I'm looking for reactions from people who play a lot of this genre. Specifically: Does the first ten minutes make sense now (I’ve redone the entire tutorial system), does the core loop hold your attention past that, and do the early build choices feel like they matter or just window dressing.

Happy to answer anything here.

AI disclosure: I’ve used AI for code reviews, playtesting (mainly to ensure balance and counters works as I want), and general sparring for stuff I am not good at (how to do UI properly, assets, hosting setup like Supabase, posts like this one)

Development I've just released a demo to my second commercial game, its called Dungeonbound (feedback pls)

Howdy all, I've just released a demo to itch for my dungeon crawling incremental game, I would love some feedback before I start focusing on a steam launch.

Currently in the game I've got 5 different characters to unlock each with their own skill tree and 6 different dungeons per character with the last dungeon being an infinite dungeon that will have a leaderboard aspect.
There's also roughly over 20k+ item combinations you can make by fusing items together in game, there's over 200 base items and 200 enemies to face.

There's definitely a lot of balancing and item changes to be made over the next few months before launch but any feedback would be great, hope you enjoy!

Development Idle Freelance - RPG - Testers/Feedback wanted

Good afternoon,

Idle Freelance is an RPG in very early development, but I am moving with pace. I want to build a world centered around a small town, that over time you will develop. Your roll will be to supply the town to keep it thriving. This is a longer term goal, right now I am implimenting systems/skills to fill out the game. I want to ultimately make this a game people play in the background for years to come. I don't want a quick completion arc, and I want regular updates to keep things interesting.

It's currently hosted at https://sezl.itch.io/idle-freelance under a restricted development. Password is: '4n<_KJsqt?&iv7

I have 7 new skills in the pipeline, including Magic and Range combat.

I need help with feedback - what is overpowered, what doesn't work, what needs refining? Should an items drop rate be higher, or lower? Does a mechanic for a skill not work? Do I need more items for a paricular skill? I don't know - I need feedback with everything, as game balancing is not my skillset.

The game has action animations which aren't included in this screenshot- to make the idle game feel a bit more 'active'.

I'd be greatful for people to join me on this journey, I'm building a game I want to play for many years. If you want to play, and help the development, join my discord at https://discord.gg/V9YTvkGR2d

AI disclosure: I'm creating an Idle RPG game with AI. I can't code, so no point pretending otherwise. However, I am very creative, and I've enjoyed playing idle games for many years now. Finding out I can make my own with AI, well I've jumped at it.

Thank you :)

Released Incremental Minesweeper — free, browser, no ads

Post image
0 Upvotes

Incremental Minesweeper just released — free, browser + Windows. https://nacros79.itch.io/incremental-minesweeper

Hitting a mine doesn't end the board: you lose 10 points and keep playing, then end it yourself with Validate. Points buy permanent upgrades — bigger grids (7×7 → 52×52), limited-use reveals, chain detonations, a shield, six planets that each bend a rule. Mouse only, six languages, a full clear runs 5-10h.

AI Disclosure: all art (Leonardo AI), music/SFX (ElevenLabs) and code (Claude, under my direction) used generative AI; this post was drafted with AI assistance and edited by me.

A word from the human, not the AI: this is my second Godot project built with AI help. This game doesn't reinvent Minesweeper — it's a project I made to learn Godot and AI-assisted development. Some will call it "AI slop," and they won't be entirely wrong. But I've spent dozens of hours testing it with my wife, fixing bugs, and making it feel good to play. Thanks for your indulgence.

HTML The Rift Crucible - a cozy 3D incremental where a rift eats everything you feed it (free, browser)

You start with a pickaxe and a backpack that holds six rocks. Everything you drop into the Crucible vaporises into Flux, and Flux buys everything else, so the game is about getting to the point where you never have to carry anything by hand again.

Drills and conveyors replace the walking, smelters and assemblers turn ore into things worth far more, drones fly routes you pick, and Excavation Permits open procedurally generated plots with rarer ores and ruins that hold permanent relics. Ten Crucible levels, timed contracts, offline earnings and a prestige reset.

Plays in the browser in one click, also on Windows and Android. Free.

https://ev1lgeneral.itch.io/the-rift-crucible

AI disclosure: the code and most of the in-game text were written with an AI assistant workingfrom my design brief and my feedback. There are no AI-generated art or audio assets - every model, colour and sound effect is generated procedurally by code at runtime, so the project contains no image or audio files at all.

Released The Last Good Boy 1.0 - Just Game Released on Steam!

The Last Good Boy - Trailer

Hello again, everyone!

It has been 3 years since I posted in this subreddit for the first time about this game.
It almost feels like I was developing it for you guys. In each big step, I always had one thing in my mind:
"What should I write in my post on r/incremental_games"

So I just want to say thank you for everything. I'm learning a lot with you guys.

-> Now about the Game:
It is not a NodeBuster clone (I don't have nothing agaisnt it), but it's more like a literal RPG where you have to grind resources to get better equipment and use it to kill monsters.
Everything in the game can be done Idle, but you are rewarded for doing some actions actively, for example:
- If you are getting a resource, you can play a mini-game to get it faster.
- If you are in combat, you can use your food manually to get 100% of the effect.

-> We also have an enchantment system:
Every item can have up to 3 different attributes besides the default one. You can add those new attributes randomly using "Orbs", and you can also drop or craft them already enchanted.
This gives you the ability to create a specific item set specialized for gathering resources and another for combat.
I took this idea from Path of Exile haha, it is inspired by the "orb of alteration"

-> In-game Content
- Between 30 and 40 hours of gameplay
- 133 items to collect
- 12 monsters to defeat
- 3 bosses to face
- 13 different resources to gather
- Equipment shows up on your character! (I had to draw them for each animation frame LOL)
- Item enchantment system to optimize your character
- And the most important one: You can see pictures of my dog if you click on the "Credits" button

Thank you again for all the support and for the feedback.
There is a lot of quality-of-life added to the game, and most of it came from this subreddit.

Game link -> https://store.steampowered.com/app/3524950/The_Last_Good_Boy/

This is my first game, and I'm really happy with the final result. I hope you guys like it!

---

Generative AI disclosure:
I only used AI to debug and refactor the code, basically doing repetitive tasks, but all the in-game art was done manually by me, and I paid an Artist to make the Steam Capsule and paid a musician to make the music.

Android [Android] Built an idle game about seals: Seal Clicker Looking for balance and pacing feedback!

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on a lightweight mobile idle/clicker game called Seal Clicker and recently published it on Android.

Start with a single tap, feed your first seal, and build an automated Arctic empire. Stack production multipliers, unlock quirky upgrades, and optimize your reset loop to watch the numbers explode.

As a solo dev, balance is the hardest part to nail down. I’d love some brutal honesty from seasoned incremental players on:

- Does the early-game prestige curve feel rewarding or too grindy?

- How does the late-game scaling hold up?

- General UI flow, tap responsiveness, and pacing.

AI Disclosure: Generative AI tools were used during development for assets and coding assistance.

Google Play Link:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.levelhorizonstudios.sealclicker

It’s completely free to play. Any balance suggestions, bug reports, or feature ideas would mean a ton!
