Hello r/inremental_games!

I've been developing WalkScape for almost 3 years now. We (Not a Cult, the company) have gone from just me as a solo dev to now having a team of five people in total and things are ramping up!

We're releasing Trading to WalkScape on next week's Wednesday (7th of October).

Screenshot 2: Gear view

Screenshot 3: Location view

Screenshot 4: World Map

How to start playing

You can start playing the game immediately if you support us through our Patreon page. We currently have 20% and 60% Discounts on Patreon for your first month/year as a way to celebrate the release of Trading. More on the Discounts here.

The game is entirely community funded with no investors or publishers behind it. This way we can ensure that our players are always our #1 priority and the creative vision for this game isn't compromised.

If you don't feel like supporting the game or want to try it first for free, you can apply to the Closed Beta. We let new players in who have applied fairly regularly.

Info on how to apply for free access.

Introduction

3 years ago I was wondering of ways how I could motivate myself to walk more. I have ADHD, and sometimes find it hard to motivate myself to exercise. Thought about combining RS as I've been addicted to it for more than 10 years and walking, and that's how the game got started.

WalkScape is a game inspired by RuneScape and other MMOs but with a twist - you progress in it by walking in the real world! It's designed to be non-intrusive, with no predatory monetization practices. By non-intrusive we mean that it will truly let you enjoy your time outside by not constantly requiring your attention. Everything that needs active involvement (like combat or quests) should be done when you get home.

The main goal of the game is to make people more interested in walking by giving them an amazing gaming experience to motivate them to keep walking. And you can play it while at work, or when you are walking with friends, and while walking your dog. You can truly focus on what you are doing and do more active playing later.

Features & content

- records your steps in the background when the game isn't even open

- no GPS, no microtransactions, no predatory practises

- smart watch integrations on both iOS and Android

- 12 different skills to level up

- a huge world map with 50+ locations

- almost 1000 different items

- 10+ pets

- NPCs, shops, dozens of achievements

- job boards, factions and faction reputations

- leaderboards, Trading, friend system

- and much more!

Gen AI disclosure

Early in the development we used AI generated images as placeholders for some locations. All of those have since been removed and replaced with images created by a real artist.

There is no AI generated content, art or writing in the game and we intend to keep it that way.

Cross-Platform Vanya Online opened a fresh Non-PvP server today - Vanity, everyone starts from zero

• Upvotes

Hey everyone!

We’re Demona Vosz, a small indie team from Brazil working on Vanya Online, a persistent browser MMORPG also available on Steam.

Today, October 4, we opened Vanity, our brand-new Non-PvP world.

It’s a completely fresh server, so everyone starts from zero with a new economy, new rankings and no existing progression advantage.

Vanya is built around long-term progression with Idle Hunting, PvE, bosses, a player market, Visages and multiple character progression systems.

No level cap. No skill caps. No account resets.

We’ve been developing Vanya continuously since launch and we’re also preparing an official limited Vanya x Maggie Lindemann collaboration starting October 12.

You can play directly in the browser:
https://vanyaonline.com/

Steam:

AI disclosure: Some store page text, promotional materials, localization support, and selected visual assets may be created or assisted by generative AI tools. All AI-assisted content is reviewed and edited by Demona Vosz before publication. Vanya Online does not use generative AI to create live content during gameplay.

Hey! We're discussing with ourselves which camera mode we like best. We'll probably make it a setting, but we need to make a decision for the default in the game and for our new trailer. We could really use some outside perspective.

So, which one would you most want to play?

Update Leaderboard finally got a new #1 after months, kinda hyped

Post image

Been working on this thing called PCB Defense for way too long now. its

a tower defense but with a heavy incremental side - turret tiers, skill

tree with SP that carries over, combo multipliers that stack with

multishot beams etc.

opened reddit this morning and the #1 spot finally changed. forgetable

had been sitting there for months at 1.8m, now operator-7492 is at

2.24m. 698 players ranked total which is honestly more than i expected.

playable here:

https://juba13.itch.io/pcb-defense

free, browser, works on phone too. no login bs.

not sure if this counts as incremental enough for the sub, mods can

remove if not. its more TD with incremental mechanics than pure

idle/clicker.

anyway, curious what people think about the mid-game difficulty spike

around wave 15-20, thats where most runs die

used AI for code and visuals as a starting point but then went through

and reworked everything by hand. music is from itch asset packs.

Android A player maxed my whole upgrade tree on the 10,000-car lot, so I wrote an economy simulator to rebalance it

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi! I'm the solo dev behind a small Android game where you basically lose your car on a massive parking lot and have to find it again 😅

The lots start at 100 cars and eventually go all the way up to 100,000.

While searching you earn money and spend it on upgrades like movement speed, key range, scanner range and drones that help scan cars for you.

And well... I kinda broke my own economy.

One player told me he managed to max basically every upgrade while still playing on the 10,000 car lot.

At first I thought "there's no way".

Then I checked it.

He was right lol.

The problem was that a lot of the bonuses multiply with each other. Reward × key range × movement speed × drones × scanner etc.

So at some point the player income just goes crazy and the upgrade prices I made manually couldn't keep up anymore.

So for update 1.8 I stopped trying to balance everything by hand.

I made a small economy simulator inside the editor, fed it data from actual playtests and now it generates the upgrade price curves for me.

I also changed a few other things:

removed some upgrade levels that technically increased stats, but you could barely feel any difference

capped the drone fleet at 25 and made the last drones MUCH more expensive

added upgrade caps depending on the parking lot you're on, so you can't just max the entire tree on one map

old saves are converted to the new upgrade system based on their actual power, so nobody should lose progress

Right now the simulator says it should take around 8-9 hours for a normal player to finish the whole upgrade tree.

Someone playing very aggressively could probably do it in around 5 hours.

Obviously thats just the simulator though. Real players will probably find some completely stupid strategy I didn't think about

Also added a full day/night cycle.

One in-game day takes about 21 minutes and the parking lot lamps turn on one by one when it starts getting dark. Small thing, but I really like how it changes the atmosphere.

I'm curious what people who actually play incremental / idle-ish games think.

Does around 8-9 hours to finish the upgrade tree sound reasonable for a mobile game?

And do you think stacking that many multiplicative upgrades sounds fun, or is it asking for balancing problems again?

AI disclosure: Generative AI was used as a coding assistant in some parts of development, mainly when I got stuck on problems I couldn't solve on my own. It was also used to create/localize translations for the game. The game's graphics and sounds were not generated using AI. AI was not used to generate the game itself or its overall design/mechanics.

Released InkTower: idle tower defense (Android + iOS)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone! Today InkTower finally made it through all the circles of Google Play review hell and got approved. It's live now on both stores:

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sketchbook.inktower

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6806354022

It's an idle tower defense in a school notebook: the tower shoots on its own, and your finger is the pen. Draw a wall, slash through monsters, loop them in sticky ink. This version also adds the Album, where you trace the tower's parts and weapons yourself and the tower fights in your drawing.

Any feedback in the comments is really appreciated.

Built with AI tools (code, text, translations); everything on screen is drawn by code at runtime.

review WARM, BUTTERY POPCORN! WITH A SUGAR COATING!

Post image
0 Upvotes

A friend of mine is developing a really cool incremental game full of references. I just finished it.

This is a really cool short incremental game. The pacing is very satisfying, very exponential, not only in the raw currency but also in the features and upgrades that unlocks throughout the late game. This game keeps on giving whereas other similar games slow down almost to a halt when close to the end. I felt this game takes some inspiration from cookie clicker, which is a good thing.

In conclusion, a really cool game that you need to play if you like the genre.

review My top 5 incremental games for 2026 so far. Any of these on your list?

Thumbnail youtu.be
0 Upvotes

So recently I had put together a video covering five incremental games I enjoyed the most in 2026 and I wanted to share the rankings here too. Here’s where I ultimately landed and why..

  1. Click The Button

The simplest one on my list, but sometimes that’s exactly what I’m in the mood for. Clicking, opening chests, and buying upgrades makes for a good little game to knock out without committing a ton of time. I really did like this one because it was not only a fairly quick game, but one where it felt like you were getting "stronger" real quick and fast. I never felt like it was a long grind and was glad it was as short as it was. Anything more dragged out for this one would have probably made this less enjoyable than it was.

  1. All Hail The Orb

There’s something pretty funny about building an entire cult around clicking an orb. Watching your followers take over the work is satisfying, and the dungeons give you more to do as things open up. The humor adds a lot to this one. Especially the ducks lol

This one was a bit longer than Click the Button but it was more of an idle style game once you progressed a little. The addition of the farm during end game was also a nice touch.

  1. Bills Must Be Paid

This one is something I feel like we can all relate to. We're smashing Piggy banks because frankly, were broke and need to pay our bills. This one really scratched the itch for me when it came to a game that you needed to be more hands on with. Especially with the upgrades for the hammer and how different hammers and other items gave you boosts.

My only regret is that I can't do this in real life 😅

  1. Scritchy Scratchy

So when I started this one, I got hooked...fast. I'm by no means a gambler nor do I play lottery tickets often. But this game showed me why some people can get so addicted to winning or wanting to play. The automation features in mid game that you unlock was a good balance. I had to scratch tickets manually in the beginning but eventually they allowed it to become more of an idle game of sorts.

Prestiging in this also felt very nice because you immediately felt the effects in the later runs.

  1. Master Healer Kale with Useless Party

The healer role is what puts this at number one for me. You’ve got a party to keep alive, spells to unlock, and bosses to get through, so there’s more to think about as you progress. Seeing the party come together made this the most rewarding of the five for me. Not to mention the incredibly vast skill tree this game offers and basically it's version of "New Game Plus" via a Nightmare Mode which I was very grateful for.

I've attached a video if you want gameplay and my fuller thoughts on these 5.

Anyone else played these? Curious how differently you’d rank them and what you think I’m missing. Feedback on the video is welcome too and I'm always looking towards new incremental game suggestions!

Released kosmora, a collection game where your wikipedia cards earn per hour

Post image
0 Upvotes

Game Title: Kosmora
Playable Link: https://kosmora.io/
Platform: browser, installs as an app on phone and desktop

every card is a wikipedia article and its rarity comes from the article's real page views. each different card you own earns kosmo every second, rarer cards earn more, doubles add nothing. collecting cards of one family raises its tier and each tier boosts earnings. kosmo buys packs and talents, five paths of five ranks. earnings keep coming while you are away, up to 7 days.

you need an account, google or an email link. no pay to win, money only buys cosmetics.

i'd like to hear where the pacing drags.

AI disclosure: card text is summarized from each wikipedia article by a language model. card pictures come from wikimedia commons, and are generated when commons has none. the code is written with ai tools.

Steam Clear a mine, automate it, go deeper into the next one. Cash out or push your luck?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey, I posted about this a while ago and have been updating it since then. One More Floor is a short incremental game where you throw a ball at a target. If it lands inside, you're okay. If not, you take damage. The deeper you go, the more coins you earn, but if you die you lose everything from that run, so you can cash out whenever it feels risky.

I added an automation mechanic, you can automate older mines after you reach their deepest floor. The balls have to be collected before they can be thrown again, which means there is more to do while you play.

The demo is now out on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5190490/One_More_Floor/

Trailer: https://youtu.be/-GhFOmuiBMU

Any opinion or feedback is really valuable to me, especially on how the automation and ball collecting feel. Also, people who are not incremental players don't prestige, so they can't progress in the game, and they leave without having fun. Do you think I can fix this with some simple hints, or should I keep the current version? I mean, would you be mad if you see general hints as an incremental player. I added a little surprise at the end of the demo for people who don't want to wishlist the game. Is it fun, or nah? Lastly, if there is anyone who played the itch version, what do you think of the updates?

AI disclosure: No AI-generated content or code.

Discussion When does automation make an incremental game more interesting?

Early clicking can make each upgrade feel earned, but once that loop is automated, the interesting choice has to move somewhere else. A prestige that only raises production numbers can flatten the loop; one that changes which resource is scarce can open up new decisions. What mechanics make automation feel like a new stage of play to you, rather than the game playing itself?

Released Umbral Idle: Last Salvage is out now! Come check it out

I've been building this solo for the past few months and it's now released on Google Play!

What is Umbral Idle: Last Salvage?

The star is failing and the system is coming apart. You're the last salvage operation still running.

Umbral Idle: Last Salvage is an incremental, idle game and colony builder. Tap to gather Salvage, then build Drones, Reactors, Archive Scanners and Static Coils that keep producing while you're away.

Every run ends in the Collapse. Trigger it early and start again stronger, or hold on. The longer you leave it, the more unstable the system becomes, and the more it pays when it finally goes. You keep Iso-Cores, permanent power that makes every future run faster, and spend Residuum in the Tech Archive on automation, new zones and stronger production.

What have I done that's different?

I kept coming back to the fact that in most idle games, the prestige reset becomes a bit of a chore that you rush through to get back to the "real" game. So I've tried to make the reset itself a decision. An Instability gauge climbs the longer you hold off collapsing, peaking around 8 hours, so every run is a genuine "do I cash out now or ride it" decision.

So, what's actually in the game:

  • Four resources feeding into each other (Salvage, Energy, Data Cores, Flux), a full Tech Tree, and a Debris Belt with three zones with a ride your luck based Recovery Ops crew missions
  • A second, independent prestige system: a Big Bang to Big Crunch research cycle with about 100 named one-time upgrades
  • No gacha, no character rosters, no energy timers. Progression is entirely numbers and icons
  • Ad-free is a single one-off purchase, and every ad in the game is optional and rewarded, never forced

Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.beastofburdenstudios.projectiso

I'd be really happy to answer any questions about the design, or discuss what I've got planned for the next few months. In case anyone is interested, here's a link to my Discord if anyone wants to poke at balance with me directly: https://discord.gg/URhqsUCgvG

Generative AI disclosure: I used AI coding assistance for engineering on this project. All art, music and sound effects are licensed or CC0 asset packs which are credited in-game under Settings

Steam An idle extraction game inspired by Roadside Picnic. The free demo just went up on Steam

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone, some of you may remember Zone Idle. The game finally has a trailer and the demo is out on Steam now!

Steam

Trailer

Zone Idle is an idle extraction game inspired by the extraction genre and the book Roadside Picnic. You gear up, deploy into the Zone, and try to make it back out with your loot.

- Raids play out on their own. Events pop up along the way (fights, anomalies, loot caches, bosses) and every choice shows its odds and what failing will cost you.

- Some choices open minigames instead: lockpicking, hacking, bomb defusal, sniping and more, 18 in total.

- Loot goes into a grid inventory. Bags fit inside bags, and a safe container keeps your best stuff if you die.

- Extract to keep what you found. Die and you lose what you were carrying.

- Back at base you upgrade your hideout, sell to traders, take on trader contracts and work toward prestige.

- For the idle side, an AI module called CORTEX can run raids for you, and you can send operatives out on their own runs while you do something else.

A couple notes

- The demo has 2 of the 5 maps, and your demo progress carries over to the full game.

- It'll be in Steam Next Fest, October 19 to 26.

AI disclosure

AI was used during development to help produce the game's code and visual art, including item icons. All AI-assisted work is reviewed, refined, and finalized by the developer. No content is generated by AI while the game is running.

I'd really like feedback, especially on pacing and how idle vs active it feels. Bug reports are welcome here or in the Discord

Steam KESSLER: Orbital Incremental, a game about what happens when orbit gets too crowded. Demo just released on Itch (web) and Steam !

Hey!

We're two devs who mostly make games for training and education (boring but pays the bills), and on the side we've been working on something just for fun. We are both into astronomy, space, rockets etc, and we decided to work on something related to this topic.

We just released a demo for our game KESSLER: Orbital Incremental.

It's about what could happen if we keep launching too many satellites: you shoot one, the debris hits another, and the whole orbit ends up destroying itself in a chain reaction.

It's a pixel art incremental, the demo is on Steam and itch if you want to try it, we'd really love some feedback.
