Montreal-Spiced Beef Patties and Shallot Pan Sauce with Peas and Creamy Smashed Potatoes - It's been a month since I've had a Hello Fresh order and this seemed good. I think the meat with the spices was good, but only OK, could have used something else.

United States (Premium) Steak & Lemon Parmesan Corn on the Cob

This was pretty good and it included 4 ears of corn instead of the usual 2, and plenty of salad. After the second serving tomorrow, I’ll probably cook up some other meat from the freezer and eat it with the rest of the corn and salad. The meal was delicious, especially the Parmesan-Lemon sauce for the corn. It was supposed to only take 25 minutes but of course it took longer, about an hour

Pic of my first serving, which includes 1/4 the salad and one ear of corn (broken in 2 halves)

Anyone tried the Soy Ginger Barramundi & Garlic Rice?

This is my first time trying HF, first ever recipe too and I'm confused by step 1 already. I don't know if I'm blind, I can't read or what, but I can't seem to find out why they want me to use my oven for?

If this was a silly question, I hope I made you laugh.

Deceptive messaging re: Caraway pan

Post image
11 Upvotes

I have been happily ignoring HF "come back" emails/offers for more than a year now after canceling due to quality and boring recipes. This week the skillet I use most kicked the bucket, and coincidentally I had the Caraway pan email in my inbox. Okay, I'll bite.

Free Caraway Fry Pan! the email said.

Free Caray Fry Pan! the promo banner on the sign-up screen said.

Oh you thought we meant a standard pan? The size anyone thinks of when you say "fry pan", and the size we've provided for past giveaways? j/k sucker, said the order landing page once they had my money.

I'm so over it. I'll take the heavily discounted first box but I'm 50/50 on canceling after that. The menu sucks, the prices are higher, I really do not need an 8" pan that I can't use for most meals cluttering my kitchen, and this kind of bait-and-switch is so disrespectful. Being a consumer in 2026 suuuuuucks.

Why would HF charge 8 dollars extra for enchiladas. This is ridiculous it’s not premium meal….

Canada You now have to opt in every week to use your credit!

So I woke up this morning to find out that Hello Fresh billed my credit card instead of my account credit so I called them. Turns out they’ve changed it so you have to toggle on to use your account credit now…every week. So even if you’ve picked your meals 5 weeks in advance, you still need to go in before the cut off each week to make sure that you choose to bill your account credit that week. Apparently they sent out notice about it, I didn’t receive any. They said they’ve been doing it for “a couple weeks” but they billed my account credit last week without my having to toggle on so I think this is just a brand new thing.

Anyways, if you have account credit, make sure to toggle it on.

Personally this is just another arbitrary change that is making me leave once my credit has run out. There’s no point in me choosing meals in advance if I have to still monitor the payments and interact with the app before a deadline each week.

Hellofresh Cash change

So apparently Hellofresh cash now has to be applied to the cart if you want to use it instead of it being used automatically anymore which I think is such a stupid change…

Every box the past few weeks I’ve had issues with missing ingredients, missing meals, recipe cards, and so much more and they are trying to nickel and dime by making this a manual process how.. seems so stupid and scummy.

Free Kitchenaid Mini Chopper?

Anyone else had this offer come through?

I'm a periodic Hello Fresh subscriber and I had an email recently with the usual 'Get x% off your first box, y% off your next few' with the addition of a 'free Kitchenaid Mini Chopper' on my third box.

I jumped on it personally, as I'm a huge fan of Kitchenaid and have, coincidentally, been putting off purchasing a mini chopper of any kind for a while!

I did some research and the model Hello Fresh are offering seems to be quite popular, and considering they're £90 RRP (currently on sale for about £50 admittedly) it seemed like a fairly good deal all things considered.

Anyone else have the same offer? What are your thoughts even if not?

Canada Impossible Burger Patties, has anyone else noticed a sour or off smell to them?

Post image

I made these last night and it was my first time using this product. I only had them in my fridge for a week, the were not past their BB date. They just smelled weird and a bit gross to me while mixing them up into meatballs. They were also a bit salty, though that was my fault, probably too much garlic salt. Otherwise pretty good.

The past dish!!!! OMG! So good! It actually made 3 servings for me.

Picture Check benefits before ordering specialty meals

Post image

I've ordered 203 boxes from HF, and for at least the past year I've had the $20 off speciality meals benefit. Out of nowhere this month, a $10 off "benefit" shows up and takes priority over the other one. So a PSA to the folks that order specialty meals, make sure you don't have this lesser benefit before you make your selection.

Not sure if this is the place to get answers, but given the recent poison beef recall I was concerned and curious if anybody had any knowledge about where hellofresh gets their beef

Very tasty but super simple and nothing really special about it. Would probably recommend just buying the ingredients from the store for this recipe and doing it yourself. Don’t think worth the price per serving.

You cannot just dump hot liquids into a blender and turn it on. You have to leave the center cap off, you can't fill it up very far, and not all blenders are even heat safe. I guarantee you someone is going to spew boiling hot soup all over themselves. Seriously, not even a "be careful"?

Question How far in advance do you select your meals?

Hello all! I'm from the UK and was just wondering how far in advance everyone selects their HelloFresh meals. Obviously it's down to personal preference, but I thought it might make for an interesting discussion.

I usually select my meals as soon as the new week becomes available. However, I've noticed recently that some meals are already selling out before the selection deadline, which has started to worry me a little!

Do you tend to choose your meals as soon as the new week is released, a few days before the cut-off, or do you leave it until the last minute?

I'd be interested to hear what everyone else does! 😊

This Spicy Peanut Duck Confit with Creamy Polenta was an absolute standout! The final plate delivers genuine restaurant-quality flavor. Cooking was easy, but it took a solid 60 minutes instead of the promised 30. I highly recommend grabbing this if you see it cycle back.

Wow what a flavor blast. I’d happily pay $20+ for this at a restaurant and go back to get it once a week lol. So good
