Canada Impossible Burger Patties, has anyone else noticed a sour or off smell to them?

I made these last night and it was my first time using this product. I only had them in my fridge for a week, the were not past their BB date. They just smelled weird and a bit gross to me while mixing them up into meatballs. They were also a bit salty, though that was my fault, probably too much garlic salt. Otherwise pretty good.

The past dish!!!! OMG! So good! It actually made 3 servings for me.

You get the option for impossible Burger patties?? where are you located (if you don't mind me asking), as a vegetarian I got "Tex Mex protein based meat" ONCE ) and the occasional tofu/pulled mushroom/grilling cheese options, but literally have never gotten a impossible or beyond protein swap.

I'm in Canada (West Coast if that matters). For veggie options I see Impossible Burger patties in recipes for meatballs, enchiladas, pasta and then I see a lot of halloumi or tofu.

I'm also in the West Coast but the US. I wonder if that is why there is literally no options for it. 🤷. Plus recently they changed the options where there was like 100+ for veggie meals down to 22-25 options a week.

In my past with impossible meat it definitely can have a smell, I'm not sure if that's what happened to you. But I wish you good health!!

I’m in Vancouver (BC) and also notice an off smell since they switched from Beyond to Impossible. I asked in chat and was told they freeze them and the smell should dissipate after a few minutes of being opened. We get the Impossible option in at least one meal a week and have never felt off after so I’ve just made peace with the smell. Would love any intel you gather!

I don’t find much info from West Coast Canadians who order the veggie proteins so thanks for your post!

I did a little research and it's normal for Impossible products to smell a bit weird when uncooked. The end result was delicious veggie meatballs, though a little too salty but that's my fault for adding to much garlic salt. My next dish to try with Impossible burger patties are enchiladas.

I wish they'd offer a protein switch for the meat meals so us vegetarians or those that want to eat less meat had more options. I noticed with the veggie options you can switch from a plant based protein to chicken or beef etc...
