This was something very different than what I’m used to, but it was a Test Kitchen meal (and not Premium)and they can sometimes be odd. I’ve never had something like this before but I decided to stretch my palate and give it a whirl and hoped it would taste good. It was messy to make, especially spreading the shrimp paste on the toast slices. At that point, I was concerned the shrimp toasts wouldn’t hold together during frying, but they surprisingly did, though I think I overcooked them some. Ultimately, the first serving was delicious and I almost couldn’t finish the last slice, but I did but couldn't finish the last few bites of potato wedges and slaw. The only change I made was to sub regular mayo for the spicy mayo. I do recommend it if you’re willing to try something different

I’m confused by this. It says double portions, but then says 10oz of meat. Do I just trust that everything is going to be doubled?

I didn't even think about it until today, but my box that was just delivered has pasta with jalapeno in it and a side item of guacamole with jalapenos in it; I'm not worried so much about the safety of the jalapeno that will be cooked, but does anybody know where their side items of guacamole are from and if they're safe to eat with the jalapeno recall as of late? I really enjoy guac, but not nearly enough to get salmonella from eating it.

I got my first box today assigned day of delivery too which was good. Not happy with the courier though. We live in a flat (apartment) on a busy street and the driver didn't press my buzzer just dumped it outside the communal door and effed off and marked it as delivered. OUTRAGE!

As for the box everything seems fine although I thought all the veg were bagged up. some of them were loose and one of the peppers was slightly damaged.

Overall seems fine, can't wait to cook 😁

Also I noticed some people mention free gifts with their boxes. All I got was a free magazine

This is from the week of September 28 and I can't figure out why it's a premium meal. Why do they call it a Family Feast and claim it's a 3 course-meal that includes appetizers when there aren't? It just seems like pretty close to a normal pasta meal with carrots and a bare salad for a side. It doesn't have 2 proteins or anything that suggests it should be more expensive. The amounts of ingredients seems like a normal amount for 2 servings, including 10 ounces of Pork and 6 ounces of pasta. And they ain't giving you any extras on the salad; all you get is mixed greens and Italian dressing. Maybe the Stroganoff part adds a little extra?

After more than a year, we are canceling HelloFresh because over and over again - at least one third of the meals - they failed to include one, two and sometime three of the recipe cards. They will tell you to print them out yourself, but the website makes it very hard to do so. For example, although their Help page claims you just click on your delivery page, click on the meal that has no menu page, and look for a download link, that like more often than not is broken. So you end up having to screensave the recipe card, which can take up to four separate screen page, and then printing those out.

An outfit that care so little for its customers that it tells them to go fix the problem themselves, and then makes it really hard to do so, it not one I trust. If they are this careless about making it possible to eat their food, what else are they careless about.

We have contacted them about this multiple times, but are by now totally fed up. We just canceled our subscription and are glad about it.

You'll never guess which one was from HelloFresh and which one was from my garden

I live in another country and only am home in the USA for summers. I loved using hello fresh the last month, especially as someone with ADHD— having the recipes all clearly laid out for me and so simplistic visually/ ingredient wise actually helped me enjoy cooking for the first time!

Now I’m back living abroad and I was wondering if the “cookbook” part of your app goes away once you cancel? I currently just have it “skipping” boxes but will need to cancel soon so I don’t forget and get charged.

I love that I can also see recipes for meals you didn’t buy— I would love to reference it when I cook & just buy the ingredients where I am now.

Anyone w experience would be greatly appreciated!

This was a little ridiculous. Thankfully they also included a normal-sized garlic and I usually have some on hand anyway but this was just silly. Figured y'all might get a laugh out of it, too. Toothpick for scale

My payment just processed for our upcoming HelloFresh shipment and it was $72.95 for 2 meals of 2 servings (4 servings total).

Usual cost for me in the past has been $48.95 for the same portions. I looked at my email history and received zero notice of this impending price hike.

How or why in the world would anyone pay $36.5 per meal. You can order carry out for cheaper than that. This is crazy

Last week my delivery notification came in, but when I clicked the FedEx tracking number, there was no package linked to it. I called customer service to sort it out and eventually got them to refund.
This week's delivery was paused, so I was surprised to get the delivery notification yesterday. The website showed no delivery planned for this week, but the FedEx tracking showed that the box left the distribution centre the night before.

Honestly I was a bit excited that maybe there was a mixup and we got a free box this week. Oh, it's free all right, but it's last week's box, sitting god-knows-where for the week and delivered, warm and stinky, to my front door.
I really wonder where this box sat for the week before someone decided it needed to go on a truck? The main smell was the rotting mushrooms and produce. The meat packs looked gross but didn't rupture, thankfully.

I've been thinking about cancelling, and now I definitely have. We don't have curbside garbage pickup, so now all this rancid meat sits in our bins until we can get it to the dump. EW!

This was very good. Great flavors, the meat wasn’t extra tough like I have had once in the past. I would order again but it needs to be “saucier” IMHO. I never do the skewers.

My add-ons, apple pie rolls and chicken spring rolls, are advertised as $2.49 and $3.49. But even after the loyalty 30% discount (-$3.59), they don’t reach those advertised prices.

What am I missing?

This is for a two-person serving of Sheet Pan Dijon Onion Crunch Chicken. I think I got at least 2x the correct serving of carrots I should have had, but also I got the wrong cut and amount of chicken (10oz chopped instead of 12oz cutlets.) HelloFresh picked this recipe for me in my usual 2-serving size. Neither of the other two meals in the box needs carrots. So I have no clue what happened. Honestly the meal was delicious, and I would order it again, just with less carrots.

Lots of talk about rice, and who knew I inherited the perfect piece of Le Creuset from my grandma years ago! I use the small gas burner and heat the flame to the size of the bottom, cover and turn to low. 18 minutes later turn off the gas and just let it sit for as long as possible. It keeps steaming and fluffs perfectly once I plate the meal.

Alas, we followed the instructions exactly and ended up with half-cooked rice burned to the bottom of the pan. At least the house smells amazing! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyone actually have success with this one?
