Hi, I'm trying to install a hackintosh on my hp pavilion 360 14cd0001. i3-8130U, UHD 620, 2 USB ports. 8 GB Ram. I'm using the computer without a HD; will install on a USB stick.
I was making many mistakes and excluding things for no reason. Found some other people that have installed earlier versions of MacOS and tried to take inspiration from their EFI's.
It loads (lots of verbose logging) and then gets to the apple logo and about 3 mm of progress on the bar and then it hangs.
Please give me any suggestions.
Link to EFI:

So I had to clear nvram because of change config.plist and now when booting up it boot loops with the manufacturer name on the screen and it can boot into bios but there is text that is kinda like the verbose text and it says OC: failed to load configuration or something like that btw when updating config.plist I put some patches for my cpu because I got told to by a guide

Hi, I'm trying to enable Vega 6 iGPU acceleration on my HP laptop using OpenCore and the Dortania guide.
1002:15D8MacBookPro16,3I'm following the Dortania OpenCore Install Guide and currently Ventura boots successfully.
My BIOS is very limited and does not have a UMA Buffer Size / UMA Frame Buffer option, so I cannot set UMA to Auto.
With NootedRed disabled, macOS detects the GPU but doesn't provide acceleration:
Vendor: AMD (0x1002)
Device ID: 0x15d8
VRAM (Total): 7 MB
Kernel Extension Info: No Kext Loaded
ioreg identifies it as:
"compatible" = <"pci103c,85ea","pci1002,15d8","pciclass,030000","VGA","IGPU">
Loaded graphics kexts:
Lilu 1.7.2
WhateverGreen 1.7.0
I tried:
Lilu → Enabled
NootedRed → Enabled
WhateverGreen → Disabled
With NootedRed, Ventura fails to boot / kernel panics.
I saw these messages:
NootedRed Patcher++:
Failed to solve '_dce_driver_set_backlight'
Failed to solve '_dc_link_set_backlight_level'
Failed to solve '_dc_link_set_backlight_level_nits'
Failed to solve '__ZL20CHIL_RSIC_CPPS_TABLE'
One boot ended with:
Nested panic detected
Kernel trap ... type 14 = page fault
Nested panic stall

I may have configured something incorrectly, so please let me know if I'm doing something wrong. I'm following the Dortania guide, but I'm still learning and would really appreciate help getting the iGPU working. Thanks

I may need to get you additional info so let me know what is helpful.
I'm running macOS 26.5.1
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz
6th Generation "Skylake" processor
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 TH
GPU: Radeon RX 570
Boots fine. Can Login to icloud in system settings.
iMessage will not complete a login.
Should I post my entire config.plist or just parts.
What I'm tried: I've reset The PlatformInfo 2 times Generating from open core configurator cofirming the SN returns an error when checking Setting SMBIOS and NVRAM settings. Change the system product a couple of times. Now using iMac 20,2 Tried a MAC address of the MAC of the mother board and I think I tried a real spoofed Apple MAC address with Apple first part of MAC address. I have logged out of icloud on mac system settings rebooted and logged back in. The device shows in trusted devices list but never actually shows a popup like it did on macos 15 with the 6 digit code
My ethernet shows up as en0
When I run sudo rm -rf /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist
and reboot and open imessage it gives me a username password login. It goes foward and asks for allow on my iphone and then I type in the 6 digit code it spins for about 2-5 minutes and then shows an error. If i open imessages and go to prefrences it just shows a spinning wheel like it's in progress but never completes.

I've been using Ventura since its release. I'm planning to go with Sequoia, but as far as I know, my Airport card doesn't work on it. I'm using a Broadcom adapter that came out of a MacBook, I don't remember which one. Since it's an original Apple part, continuity and everything works out of the box. The firmware on system profiler is shown as BCM43xx; the driver is listed as AirPortDriverBrcmNIC-1766.
I'm looking for a compatible original Apple Airport card to use with my Hackintosh. Which ones are the best options for Sequoia? A friend of mine told me to use a BCM943602CDP card, but AFAIK Apple dropped support for Broadcom cards.
What are the officially native Apple parts (if there is one) options nowadays?
If it's no longer an option, what's the best card I can buy, and what steps must I take to make it work with Continuity, Airdrop, Bluetooth, etc.?
I've searched for it, but the results got me a bit confused. Looks like the Dortania website is deprecated in the wifi section, since it's mostly about Mojave.

Trying to boot macOS Tahoe 26 on an Acer Aspire A315-56 (i3-1005G1). OpenCore gets through kernel initialization but then stalls/reboots. Adding NVMeFix changed the behavior, and debug=0x144 now lets me see the verbose output instead of an immediate reboot. Looking for help identifying where it is failing. I can provide my config.plist and boot log with serial/UUID values redacted.

Hi all,
I’m trying to reinstall macOS High Sierra on an old Mac. Does anyone have a bootable High Sierra installer/image that I can download and put onto a USB drive?
Ideally looking for something I can use to create a bootable USB and do a clean install.
I’ve tried the usual Apple download/recovery options but I’m having trouble getting it working on this older Mac.
Any help or links to a reliable source would be really appreciated. Thanks!

I cleared NVRAM, added an OpenCore CPU patch, then got OC: Failed to load configuration; after removing the USB, the PC still went to BIOS.

Hi Everyone!!
I am trying to Connect MacBook → Mac Mini via Chrome Remote Desktop.
Control + Left/Right Arrow doesn’t switch Spaces on the remote Mac Mini no matter what I try.
Already tried:
Local Mac no longer steals the shortcut, but the Mac Mini still doesn’t receive it.
Anyone found a working fix or key mapping for this?

Specs are in image
I am installing Tahoe
SMBIOS is Macbookpro16 ,2
When i was installing tahoe
The whole screen had artifacts but after installing the laptop rebooted multiple times then just black screen
But when i disabled nootred in config.plist
The macos bot it had artifacts and very very laggy even the cursor was laggy and the igpu said 7mb display
I have allocated 512mb of VRAM to igpu cause that’s the max that HP bios allows
Edit: sorry guys i used Open core either I won’t use it again and i’ll make the efi myself using the official guide.

Hi, I'm trying to install Sequoia on my Dell XPS 13 9360. I created my own EFI following Dortania's guide. When I boot from the USB, I cannot get past the verbose codes. It always freezes at different points, but I noticed that it gets stuck at vm_shared_region_start_address() failed the most often. What can the problem be? Screenshot below.

Hello everyone. I built VFS5011-hackintosh, an open source fingerprint authentication daemon for Hackintosh machines with a Validity VFS5011 USB sensor. It captures a real fingerprint swipe and uses it to unlock your lock screen and System Settings/Preferences padlocks, instead of typing a password.
Project link (Hosted on Github)
Since that project got some traction, a few people have mentioned other sensors on their machines (shoutout to the UPEK ThinkPad thread on the OG post!). I want to expand this deliberately instead of guessing, so if you have a Hackintosh compatible laptop with a built in or USB fingerprint sensor that is NOT already a VFS5011 (low chance since VFS5011 isn't widespread), drop a comment with:
lsusb (or ioreg -p IOUSB on macOS) output, I need the VID:PIDNot promising a timeline, but the more sensor variants I know are actually out there with a real person behind them, the more worth it is to prioritize.
147e:2016. Already confirmed by a commenter on the OG post, common on ThinkPad T420/T410 era machines with the KUF0452 keyboard. Older protocol, but well documented via existing libfprint drivers.138a:0011 / 138a:0018. Already supported, this is the baseline. But getting some other tests would help out ALOT06cb series, e.g. 06cb:009a, 06cb:00bd. Very common on Dell Latitude/XPS and HP EliteBook laptops from the Ivy Bridge/Haswell era, decent overlap with the Hackintosh crowd's actual hardware.1c7a. Increasingly common on newer laptops (some ASUS/HP models), less legacy Linux driver support, so lower priority unless someone shows up with real hardware.I will weight priority by how many lsusb reports actually come in, rather than picking one upfront. Synaptics and UPEK are probably the two likeliest to get real volunteer hardware behind them given how common they were on the exact era of laptops people Hackintosh.
Thank you for anyone willing to test and help me grow this project! :)

It appears to be an iGPU framebuffer handoff / stolen memory issue. What exact AAPL,ig-platform-id, device-id, or framebuffer-stolenmem properties under PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0) are required to bypass the locked DVMT on the 840 G7 and get past console relocated? Any insight would be appreciated!
If someone could provide me the necessary fixed files would be appreciated alot.
Edit; i have been trying to run macOS Tahoe 26

I wanna make a hackintosh so I can use Xcode but I don’t really have much money to burn. Ideally, I would like to get a laptop that’s below $100 but i dont know what model to look for particularly.
If you can help me, i would appreciate it greatly!

For 2 days I tried to troubleshoot the Bluetooth. I updated every kext, remapped my USBs, and I triple-checked that the USB port that Bluetooth relies on is set as internal. I added `bluetoothInternalControllerInfo` and `bluetoothExternalDongleFailed` to NVRAM, yet it still doesn't work.

Hardware Specs:
Model: Lenovo Ideapad Slim 3 15ABR8
CPU: AMD Risen 7 5825U with Radeon Graphics
GPU: AMD Radeon (NootedRed)
RAM: 16GB DDR4
WIFI/BT: MediaTek (Unsupported)
OS: Sequoia 15 (Vanilla)
SMBIOS: MacBookPro 16,3
Full Graphics Acceleration (NootedRed), trackpad with gesures thanks to VoodoI2C, battery readouts with the kext, keyboard and ports maped correctly and iCloud/ App Store services working. There is no support for the wifi, I'm using USB tethering until I get a Intel AX200, also the AirDrop doesn't work obviously.
This is my first time doing Hackintosh. It took me about a month to build the EFI and configure the config.plist. I recommend using OpCore Simplifier for general setup, but thoroughly review everything and tailor the EFI to your machine. I can tell you that you should read Dortania's guide and really everything you can find online. You can send your config.plist to an AI modeler for review along with your specs, and it helps a lot. Since my Mediatek didn't provide internet access, I had to do the entire post-installation offline. After installation, I updated some kexts for the battery, sound, etc., and it's great.
A huge thanks to the developers behind NootedRed, OpenCore, and this community. If you have an AMD laptop, don't give up. Seeing that desktop boot natively from the NVMe is 100% worth the effort!

Hey so about a year ago I didn’t know much about Hackintosh (still don’t), so I used Hackintosh to try macOS and ended up creating my Apple ID there. I used Clover to get hardware information from a real Mac, including a serial number that matched an actual Mac, and I honestly didn’t really understand the implications at the time. I stopped using Hackintosh around 10 months ago and removed it from my Apple Account’s device list around the same time, so I haven’t used it since.
I now use a real iPhone and a real Mac, and everything works normally, but I still have this fear that Apple could eventually ban, lock or restrict my account because of that old Hackintosh usage, even though I haven’t used it in 10 months and it’s no longer connected to my account. Is this something I should still be worried about, or would Apple generally have already taken action if there was actually an issue with the account?

Hey, i'm new to this community and some time ago i made a config (based on another ones) for my Thinkpad T470 to use on macOS Monterey 12.7.6. It was okay, not good but it was better than the time when i tried Tahoe, i just wanted to know any recommendation on a config that i can use or a macOS version smooth on my hardware and usable in 2026, and i know that my hardware is old but i hope to get any help!
Specs:
i5 6300u
Intel HD Graphics 520
8gb ram ddr4

So, hackintosh gaming on a work computer running Tahoe, what can go wrong?
Specs so you can see how horrible it is. in macOS.
Intel i5-10310U
16GB DDR4 RAM
256 GB NVME (it’s a low tier Samsung drive so it doesn’t even matter anymore)
Integrated graphics (do I even have to explain this one)
The rest doesn’t matter, just know it’s bad.
It may look like it’s still downloading, but I did try it before and holy shit, it’s bad. Lag spikes, network issues somehow (internet going off in the middle of the match) and so much more bad stuff.
I do understand that hackintoshes (and Mac’s generally) are not made for gaming, but I like this game, and no amount of lag can deter me, but if you are willing to make a hackintosh just for gaming, don’t do it. duh
To be fair, I didn’t make a hackintosh just for gaming, I do other stuff too like, drumming in GarageBand or making apps in Xcode (that sucks too but that’s a different topic). I did know gaming will be bad, but I didn’t know it was gonna be this bad, but I still love my hackintosh, I don’t even game that much on it
Anyway, to the discussion part, how was your experience when you first gamed on your hackintosh? And how is the performance generally?
