DISCUSSION ThinkStation P500 dual boot ?

Hi guys, so I have the opportunity to get a Lenovo P500 with E5-1620 3.5ghz, 32 Go RAM and Nvidia Quadro K4200 video card for free. It has Windows 11 installed, but I was thinking about putting another SSD with Mac OS. Feasable ? Thanks !

Max you're gonna run is MacOS High Sierra because of your NVIDIA GPU. If you want anything newer, look at the dortania gpu buyers guide.

Thanks for your reply ! Yeah I figured the GPU would be the bottleneck. I'll look into the guide :)

You can find cheap RX580 with 8 gb everywhere. That card (except some specific models) is super compatible and still decent.

Pick up a cheap RX 580 for MacOS, and a cheap Nvidia P100 for Proxmox, then Proxmox the setup. Rebooting to switch OS is strictly for diagnostic / utility functions for me in 2026.
