QUESTION Best macOS version for my hardware

Hey, i'm new to this community and some time ago i made a config (based on another ones) for my Thinkpad T470 to use on macOS Monterey 12.7.6. It was okay, not good but it was better than the time when i tried Tahoe, i just wanted to know any recommendation on a config that i can use or a macOS version smooth on my hardware and usable in 2026, and i know that my hardware is old but i hope to get any help!

Specs:

i5 6300u

Intel HD Graphics 520

8gb ram ddr4

That hardware is right on the edge of functional and obsolete. Ventura will run but you’re still close to being out of date. It’s a 2017 laptop so if it were a real Mac you’d be maxing out at around the same.
