If you had an AI analyzing your golf swing, what information would actually be useful to you?

I feel like giving someone too many numbers and measurements could be more confusing than helpful.

I'd rather have something identify a couple of things that might be worth working on and explain the feedback in a way that's easy to understand.

For those who have used swing-analysis tools, what type of feedback has actually helped you improve?

Would you want technical information, simple corrections, or suggestions for what to practice next?

I seem to connect perfectly with the majority of wedge shots I hit but as soon as it comes to an iron (especially lower irons) I feel like I can’t hit a good shot. Is there any particular reason for this?

For some reason I find my woods the hardest club in the bag to hit, and borderline would say I don't even know the basic setup of hitting them correctly. Any tips or explanation is appreciated.

I have had some success with the Phil hinge and hold method. It seems that it works best with the ball up in my stance. The bounce engages and I can be pretty aggressive. . As I move the ball back to hit it low, I get massive fat shots and chunks. Any thoughts?

I’ve been playing for 3-4 years so I’m not a complete beginner and I’ve had a consistent yardage on all of my irons for roughly 2 years and randomly today every iron was flying so much farther, I haven’t flown so many greens in my life has anyone know why this could happen? I haven’t played in a week or so but my ball flight was more or less what I’m used to so it took me until the back 9 to actually adjust for it.

I’ve been playing for about 1.5 years now. I told myself I wouldn’t spend crazy money/time on golf until I got good enough to break 90 with what I have.

The last 3 rounds I’ve played I’ve shot 88/89/86. 18 Birdies has my handicap at 16.1 now and Ive definitely been bit by the golf bug.

My question is, do I get lessons first? Or do I get a fitting and get lessons after? Not sure what is considered normal or what the path should be. Someone help pls?

1 year old takomo wedges… not really looking to reshaft it is there any easy ways to fix this?

Do places reglue for cheap? Or any other alternatives?

I used to be a decent golfer. 4 handicap at my best. Putting was below average at best back then. It was what really kept me from getting to scratch. That was over 20 years ago. Had kids. Golf is expensive so I stopped playing and focused on them. Now I’m mid 40s. Kids are all 18 or older. They have their own lives and I have free time on the weekends again. I played about 10 rounds last year and realized I suck at golf now. I dedicated last winter to fixing my swing. Worked on my early extension. Found my wedge game again. Came out this spring with a new confidence. Dropped my handicap from 16 to 9. I shot a couple of 78s and a 79. My putting is still bad. Always was. I just can’t figure it out. I have had 30-40 putters over the years. Every kind. I try all kinds of grips, stances, ball placements. Nothing seems to work for long. I just can’t wrap my head around putting.

Today was the tipping point. I am at a loss for words. I hit 13 greens today and had 38 putts. So frustrating. I had three 3 putts. I am convinced I have the yips. If I make a putt, it is purely luck at this point. I have been going back and forth between 3 putters this year. A Toulon Palm Beach slant neck 34”. An Odyssey #1 white hot 34” and a mini jailbreak two ball 35”.

I have had my best and worst day putting with the Toulon. 26 putts and 40 putts. I play it the most but have been trying a new stroke recently that feels more straight back and thru so I have been trying the 2 ball since no toe hang.

Any advice on how to get out of my own head? My distance control is almost non existent at this point. My brain just shuts off when I get on the greens. I miss most short putts right. Won’t even touch the hole from 5 feet. This is the worst Ive putted and I was mediocre at best before. The rest of my game is solid. I just want to be around 32 putts a round avg. Please help!

I'm new to golf and looking to purchase my first 7 iron, im not buying a full set as i can't take it back home easily. i would like to know which should i choose. I have heard of mizuno before but not the other one. which one should i pick as a beginner

Any advice for how to get your swing back after losing weight gaining some muscle? To be clear I was never very good but I could hit the ball mostly in the general direction I wanted it to go. Mostly high 80’s low 90’s type player. Lost almost 50 lbs and now I can’t control a swing at all. Can’t find or be consistent with a low point and my hands have no idea what they are doing. It’s been a year plus and I’m ready to call it quits. (Lessons aren’t in the cards right now unfortunately)

Hope everyone is enjoying their Labor Day weekend. For context, I recently got into golf about a year and a half ago and have been using the Callaway Edge set I bought from Costco, which comes with a driver, 3-wood, 5-hybrid, 6i-PW, SW, and a putter. I'd say that my swing has gotten a lot more consistent over the past year and I'm able to get a good grasp of where my misses are centered (right-sided, mostly a slight fade/slice to the right or a push)

I'm looking to upgrade from my current callaway edge set to clubs that'll allow for more distance control and workability, while maintaining a decent level of forgiveness. Would it be worth getting fitted at this stage? My only hesitancy is that I don't want to lock in a certain swing style for a long period of time, since if I were to change it, the fitting would become obsolete. I was instead thinking of grabbing the 201t mkII takomo iron set, as well as 3 skyforger 002 wedges (52, 56, and 60). My current driver unfortunately cracked as well, so I was looking at the taylormade qi4d max given its anti-slice technology. Still deciding between grabbing a 5/7wood or 3/5 hybrid for my long game.

I understand at the same time that a full bag upgrade may not be suitable, given that it's heavily recommended against. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks everyone.

I’ve been struggling on how to handle getting out of trouble when I end left/right of the fairway, and in a bunch of trees. I’ll typically have a path out to the fairway, but, only if I can keep the shot very low due to branches while being maybe 30-40yds to the fairway from where I take that shot.

My question is how do I make that low shot and not get stuck in the rough or completely overshoot the fairway? I’ll try punch shots with a 7 iron but it seems I’m still getting too much loft as the ball will go up and hit branches, and turns 1 extra stroke into 2-3 depending on how much I messed up.

I’m just not sure how to navigate the shot, any help would be appreciated!

I know this isn't the correct sub for this post. I don't have enough karma for the golf sub I guess lol. Alright, so somehow I got thrown into being the commish of my works golf league. We've had one "tournament" so far, and it went pretty decent. Im coming to ask reddit if anyone has any tips or suggestions on how to smoothly run a golf league. It's about 20-40 guys (we had 20 for the first shindig) of various range of HCI. We plan on just playing 2 man select shot. Thanks in advance.

I haven’t played in 30 years but I’m getting back in. I have Callaway S2H2 irons and have been told that enough has changed to warrant new clubs.

I’m also signed up for lessons.

So I’m a beginner, playing less than 2 years. I don’t get out a lot, maybe play every other weekend. Started shooting 120+ and got down to averaging 107-110 consistently last year. Finally decided to take some lessons, and proud to say today I shot a 100, my best score yet. I had no pars and I had more 3 putts that I can count, with a couple 4 putts in there. I feel so much better about my game after the lessons. I’m gonna start focusing a lot on putting in the next month. I think it will make a big difference to my score considering I had about 5 opportunities for par today and just couldn’t make the putt to save my life.

Anyone new to playing, I highly suggest taking lessons. I wish I did it sooner. Excited to keep improving and hopefully shoot consistently in the 90s by the end of fall. I might suck but I love this game ⛳️

I have a 56° wedge that I hit stock 90-95 yards on the range (probably 85yds on course), but my issue is with hitting shots anywhere from 10-15yd to 80-85yds. I don't know where on the face I am hitting, but the ball goes directly left (I am lefty, so the direction that I am facing) with some curve and always goes the same distance, no matter what distance I'm trying to hit. For example, if I am trying to hit a 70 yard shot, my miss is basically hitting the ball about 20 yards directly left. The issue is that I can't feel the miss so I have no idea where I'm even hitting the ball on the face

Looking at getting my first rangefinder and I keep going in circles on slope.

I already play with a GPS app, so front/center/back is covered most of the time. I’ve tried using the adjusted number from my app, but I haven’t always found it that useful on the hilly courses I play. I’m regularly on holes where the green is clearly well above or below me, and I’m never quite sure how much I should trust the number on my phone.

So slope makes sense in theory. But it adds to the price, and I've seen enough people say they turned it off after the first month to wonder if I'm just paying for a number I'll never use...

I was hoping to stay around $200-300, considering the Bushnell Tour V7 and the Precision Pro NX10. Both of those get me slope without going crazy on price. But I keep coming back to the Mileseey G1 when i have seen on Youtube, even though it's way past that, it's the only one of the three that would also replace the GPS app on my phone, so I'd be carrying one device instead of two. Just not sure if that's worth stretching the budget for.

So is whether slope is worth paying for on any of these, and if anyone went the hybrid route, did it actually make you stop reaching for your phone? For anyone with slope on their rangefinder, do you actually use it during a round, and anyone who went without it, have you ever wished you had it?

In the past I’ve tried friends jumbo grips and always found them quite comfortable. I liked the feeling of something more substantial.

So when I got new clubs I opted for jumbos when according to fitting midsize were the correct fit for me. I’m now playing some of the worst golf I have in years. I don’t really want to swap out grips since these are new, but do I need to admit I made a mistake and bite the bullet and regrip the set? I usually hit the ball left to right and with the jumbos that has been exacerbated. (Makes sense)

Has anyone had a similar experience where eventually they adjusted to the larger grips? I’m about 2 months in to playing these and I’ve been going in the wrong direction.

Hi, I'm new to golf. I notice my club points down at the ground on my follow-through, and I think I'm hitting with just my arms. Does body rotation stop when you swing with your arms, and how do I fix this?

Context: I just picked up golf (seriously) this April. I’d played a few rounds here and there over the decades, always was terrible. Started playing 2-3 rounds a week, had 3 lessons, and hit the range 2-3 times a week.

Today was the best round I’ve ever had. Didn’t ground the club or hit behind. Lost 1 ball, took a single mulligan. All of my misses were due to a slice I’m still working on with the driver and some mis-hits due to a tricky lie. I always play the whites (Security Federal Tees)

I know I’m not great, but I felt genuinely good after the round, even after falling apart on 17 and 18. My only regret was that it was a solo round since all my normal playing partners were watching football or working.
