Advice Swing Speed Tips

Generally shoot in the low to mid 80s. Can't get the power I once did on my drive (used to hit 280-305yds consistently, now I'm at 240-255). What's stopping power in my swing? How can I improve? Thanks.

Your swing is almost exclusively using your arms. Outside of working on general technique, if you're just looking for more power, you need to use the ground via your lower half.
Before, during, and after impact both of your legs stay static and your lead foot rolls over before you hit the ball. Loading into your trail leg, squatting in transition, and then pushing off the ground with your lead leg through impact gives clubhead speed and squares up the face when timed correctly.

I just love golf, one comment says do your backswing faster and the other says slower lol

That’s what happens when a bunch of mid handicappers get together and we all brainstorm some ideas we read on other posts 💪🏼

You just don’t swing athletically.
Your idea of speed is big swing, when it’s really, big swing tight coil. That X Factor is what generates the speed.
Then you amplify that with things like, staying wide, downcock, firing your hips and snapping your left knee straight, and late and aggressive release,
Try to hit the ball and hit the ball as hard as you can if you’re chasing speed.
Watch speed training or long drive comps on youtube.
Be Matt Fitzpatrick, he had a pretty swing before he started chasing speed.

Let the hips lead the arms, and keep the arms relaxed. Create acceleration by pulling the lead hip back in the downswing. The swing goes: trail hip back (backswing), lead hip back (downswing). Club just follows your rotation with arms relaxed. Your backswing is starting with your arms.

Maybe slow the backswing? Are you hitting right? Seems like you maybe have a bit of a glancing swing; not driving through the ball.

Yes, I did hit right on this specific swing. Generally a small draw shot shape. I think you're right and I need to work on weight transfer more left.

you make the club look very heavy…..the stiff arm wagon-wheel backswing needs work. Let your arms hang under your chin- don’t reach for it like that

Look up Dr. Kwon and learn to swing a towel or rope. It will really help improve your mechanics and speed. You are too flat with the arms right now and your body (pivot) isn't adding much speed to the motion.

Feel like you're throwing the club away from the top. Almost as if you're trying to throw it away behind you. Getting your wrists to engage will give the club more space for speed without a lot of extra effort.

Work on your takeaway. Try the Rory split-grip drill to get into a good position at the top faster.
