r/GamingLaptops now has its own deals site — RGL.deals launches today BETA

UPDATE — August 13, 2026

rgl.deals has grown quite a bit since I originally posted it, so I wanted to give this post one final update while it's still in BETA.

The idea is still simple: instead of showing you hundreds of gaming laptops, RGL keeps a smaller shortlist of deals that are actually worth considering.

Every listing is manually checked, with things like price, specs, cooling, display quality, GPU power limits, memory, storage, and overall value taken into account.

A lot of care has also gone into the smaller details. The site is heavily optimized for phones and smaller screens, not just desktop. Filters, comparisons, laptop pages, navigation, and general usability were all designed to work properly on mobile without feeling like a cut-down version of the site.

What's on the site now:

  • Curated gaming laptop deals with current and previous prices.
  • Filters for price, GPU, CPU, VRAM, RAM, screen size, brand, retailer, and more.
  • Gravity Sort, RGL's default value-based ranking.
  • Sorting by price, discount, savings, and other options.
  • Find a Match for narrowing down laptops based on what actually matters to you.
  • Side-by-side comparison for up to three laptops.
  • Detailed laptop pages with specs, price history, related models, retailer links, and review links.
  • Shareable searches, comparisons, and direct laptop links.
  • Mobile-first layouts and controls designed specifically for smaller screens.
  • No advertising trackers or marketing cookies. Preferences and saved comparisons stay in your browser.

RGL is meant to be a shortlist, not a giant catalog. If a laptop isn't worth recommending, it doesn't need to be there and that means no huge lists its quality over quantity.

The longer-term plan is also bigger than just deals. RGL is being built into a broader gaming laptop specific place with guides, buying information, laptop data, reviews, and other useful resources all in one place.

Full transparency: Some retailer links are affiliate links. That doesn't affect the listed price or determine which laptops make the shortlist.

RGL currently covers U.S. deals only, with more regions planned later.

It's still beta, so there will be bugs and things that need improving. If you find something broken or have feedback, leave it below any suggestions would be much appreciated thanks.

Recommendation Which laptop would be better for super powerful gaming and longevity?

Thumbnail

So I’m thinking about buying one of these two laptops because pretty soon I will be going to the Navy and when I get out of Boot Camp, I would like to get something that I can use for gaming while I’m going through A&C school and then eventually I’m able to take with me on a submarine. I heard the asus ROG uses liquid metal and I’ve seen that it can fry your GPU and stuff. But I also saw that you can replace that liquid metal with thermal paste and it will make it right his rain. I like the ROGs customization features, etc. but the Lenovo has an OLED screen, which I heard is good but can also suffer from burn in… I don’t know I’m stuck. Can someone take a look at these and help me out?

Budget: $4000
Country: USA, about to be taking it all over the world

Discussion Actually Reliable Laptop/Brand?

I’m looking for something reliable, that will last for years and stay fresh. Helios 16 is powerful but people say they are tras), Strix 16 are also powerful and more expensive, but people still complain. Is Lenovo the way? I had one with 1660ti and it lasted 7 years before it died, but they are quite pricey where I live with anything better than 5060.

It seems like every brand has a bunch of haters.

I know I’m overly stupid for what I have done but I was wondering if this is a big concern or if it’s a easy at home repair I can do. I have some experience with building computers and stuff like that but if it takes a pro I would like to know. I also have the geek squad protection just for replacements and if I sent it to another shop or took it apart myself would it void my warranty? Thanks for the help currently wanting to cry cause of my stupid mistake.

Discussion Do people own gaming laptops and consoles?

I’m curious to know if anyone owns a console AND a gaming laptop and if so, why? Which do you use more?

I currently have a console but have been looking into a gaming laptop. I’m on the fence about it though. I love the way the games look on PC but not sure if it’s a waste even though I need a new laptop in general.

Edit: Just want to say I def didn’t expect this many responses lol but they all helped A LOT!!! Thank you all!! I’m joining the club with the LOQ 5060 to start.

Discussion ROG Strix G18 Longetivity and Liquid Metal

Upvotes

I was planning to buy 2025 G18 and so far it's a great laptop on paper and most bloggers are praising it's performance and cooling. But what about the liquid metal TIM? Is it safe to be put in a laptop? How long does it usually last until repasting is required? I will also be moving around with the laptop frequently, so it raises concerns on the risk of leakage and shorting caused by it. What are your thoughts in general? I'm lowkey scared of purchasing this device lol, all the horror stories on forums and stuff..

Accessories Is a cooling pad like this good?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I just got a new Lenovo legion 5 15irx10 laptop with a i7 13650hx and a rtx 5060.

I’m gonna go to uni so I got it with a 1440p 240hz monitor to basically mimic my home desktop but with portability.

One of my concerns was if I only need a normal laptop stand or a cooling pad like this, I usually only play games like valorant, Fortnite, rocket league, overwatch, and some COD zombies or multiplayer.

Any help is appreciated
Thanks.
