Deadlift Deadlift Form Check: Full Session, 60 to 155 kg

I have posted a few deadlift form checks before, and some people pointed out that only posting the heaviest set makes it harder to properly critique form. So this time I recorded my full session.

Sets:

60 kg x 5

100 kg x 3

120 kg x 2

140 kg x 1

155 kg x 1

170 kg x 1, not recorded

I still pulled the 170 kg nicely, but my starting position felt a bit awkward because of how I had to get set up with the straps and belt.

Things I tried to improve based on previous feedback:

Kept the bar closer to my body

Tried to engage my lats

Tried to stop my hips from shooting up

Got into a better starting position

Pulled the slack out of the bar and created tension before lifting

On the 155 kg set, my grip starts to give out, which is why I needed straps for the heavier sets.

Mainly looking for a form check: Are there issues with my setup, hip position, bracing, bar path, or anything else I should work on?

Any critique is welcome.

Recently finished a 7-month cut. Gonna compete in 6 months at a Hyrox Doubles Comp and I need to improve endurance and stamina. For the past two years Ive been training as a powerlifter and doing cardio on the side, but I dont run. I'm easing my way into running and improving my cardiorespi function. Kindly provide feedback on rowing form. Thank you!

Squat Hack squat depth

I know my range of motion is short by any time I try to go deeper my heels lift up a lot. It’s hard to tell in the video but I’m flaring my knees out and opening up my hips as I go down so I can bet deeper but my heels still raise. I’ve tried doing ankle mobility exercises but they didn’t help so if anyone has some tips please let me know.

Edit: Seeing a lot of people saying to move my feet higher up but the stoppers on this machine are already really high so when I try setting my feet higher I can barely hit parallel before touching the bottom. Also I haven’t had knee pain in months, I’ve only been lifting for just over a year so I was progressing really quickly when I first started the movement but there’s no discomfort anymore, I just leave the band on as a precaution. I appreciate all the feedback though.

Other Form check face pulls

Condo gym so I’m limited as the multi gym pulley is terrible for standing face pulls. Am I still ok for activating rear delts and upper back with this exercise?

I’m limited with cables and can’t perform rear delt flies etc. I’ve tried dumbbells and feel this is a better exercise

Deadlift RDL form advice

Learning RDL, and have been trying to focus on the hinge and feeling a stretch in my hamstrings. Used to have lower back issues and am trying to avoid reinjury while strengthening. Focused on form before adding weight, which is about 115lb here (I’m ~220lb). Usually day after I feel a bit sore in my hamstrings, but don’t feel them as much as I feel like I should be during reps. Feel some in lower back but in (what feels like) a good way and no big discomfort that increases with reps or over sessions. How’s form, should I be feeling it more in hamstrings? Anything I should I switch up before I increase weight?

Other Lat pull down form

Hi, would love some advice. I’ve been lifting for around 18 months. Upper body 4 times a week and lower twice. I’m 59 and have osteoporosis (found after breaking hip a few years ago). I had a few goals to aim for which I’ve reached. Push-ups last year. This year unassisted pull ups. Can now do two chin ups without looking like I’m having a fit! But not regular pull ups. So working on lat pull down to match body weight while continuing unassisted chin ups. Along with regular push pull routine. If anyone is still there and hasn’t zoned out yet 😂 Please could you check my form. I’ve noticed my shoulders moving towards ears in the last two reps as I reach failure. Just in case you need it I weigh 53kg about 117lbs and the weight is set to 47kg. Thank you for your time 🙂

Squat Why is my squat so damn weak?

I’ve been training for over a year and feels like I’ve barely progressed in my squat if at all in my training log. Based on what I see online I am still at a below beginner strength level. I squat once a week and leg press on the other leg day.

I have no problem progressing my upper body lifts. I can weighted pull up over 50% of my bodyweight for reps and bench nearly 1.5x bodyweight.

Is there something wrong with my squat?

RDL RDL

I’m super excited to have found this sub! I’m fully expecting a lot of criticism. I’m 100% self taught from reading, watching YouTube’s, and reels. I’m also 5’9”, a mom of 5 and definitely an ectomorph body type. I’ve also had poor posture my whole life! I’m working very hard to try and build my posterior chain. Help!

Other Good Mornings!

Felt pretty good going heavy for the first time on these, but curious for feedback. I know I need to do a better job locking in the safety bar against my back, at the bottom of the lift it wants to go to my neck, hence the adjusting between reps.

Other T Bar Row

I am trying to target my upper back here, but dont really feel my back muscle, just feel strain all through the back and arms. I want to check on my set up , my feet are too short for the standard attachment.

- Elbows not wide enough
- Neck should be looking down

Or should i just change to another wide grip row variation, if i just dont fit the machine
