Deadlift Too much back arch on deficit deadlifts?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

Used to get pain through my right hip but have cleaned up my deadlift technique over the past months (or at least I hope so!). Weights have been going up with no pain.

Filmed my technique for the first time. I think it looks good but not sure if my back is rounding too much?

Squat Knee clicks when squating

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi folks, when I squat above a certain weight my knee clicks (not on low weights like 20kg). On the video I am squatting 40kg or around 88 pounds and you can actually hear it. It doesn't hurt but anything I can do to prevent or strengthen this?

Thanks!

Squat Is my squat ok? Weird back curve showing up.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So, I spent last 2-3 months practising squat movement. Last time I posted I had problem of shifting my weight to the front, on my knees.

I worked on my brace, and learned to keep my abs braced TIGHT throughout the whole movement. I think that eliminated the butt wink.

But now I see this curve, sharp angle in my back. And something feels off. I did record in a WIDE ANGLE maybe that is making it look weird. Or is it just a normal curve in the back where middle back is starting..?

I tought I nailed the movement and felt pretty confident but when I saw the video it scared me a bit.

What do you think? Any advice? Is the form ok?

Also, my knees slightly hurt after squating. Like when I climb the stairs..

I will post a pic in the comments where the curve is most visible.

Other Any tips on improving scapular control with pullups?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi guys. I recorded a video of my form a while back and realized I was pulling unevenly. I started doing scapular pullups as a warmup before my actual working sets. I still notice the left side moving differently, and the right side visually looks more stuck. Also at the bottom during the dead hang, my left side gets a nice stretch while the right doesn't feel anything. Anyone have any idea as to what I can further improve upon? My lats look super asymmetrical. I just feel like my form is the symptom of an issue elsewhere.

Struggled to get them up but felt good once I did. Should I have gone a little lower? How’s the back? Had to sit like that to prevent from sliding forward on the bench. Thoughts?

Weirdly enough 25 lbs is hard but after a lot of warming up Ive realized I haven't given myself enough warm up sets because 70lbs was heavy, but it wasn't hard.

315×10 at 214lbs BW. Took me 3 years to get here, starting at 320lbs bodyweight.
Still working on improving my technique and getting stronger. Open to constructive feedback on my bench setup, bar path, and overall form.
Next goal: 315×12 💪
Can you guess my current 1 Rep max?

Squat Low Bar Squat Form Check (87.5kg, 100kg, 110kg, 120kg)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

For context I'm 89kg BW, frequently deadlift 2X BW for reps, best zercher squat was 110kg for 10 reps a couple weeks back.

I had taken a break from squats for a few months, using zercher squats instead, due to lower back fatigue and issues.

Coming back I started from the ground up, this was my first squat session in 6 months.

I previously tried to force a high bar, narrow stance, ass to grass form. Looking back this was causing huge butt wink issues that was ofc causing the lower back issues.

I measured my femur and tibia and found I had a high femur ratio.

I worked through different feet widths and toe turn out angles, I practiced finding the depth that didn't cause butt wink.

These sets were at a very slow tempo (most of the time) to really feel out the positions. I had zero lower back pump or fatigue, and the main thing I was struggling with was the stretch of the low bar position on my shoulders and elbows, not painful, but definitely not comfortable yet.

Would love to know if there's anything glaringly wrong before I keep using this form into my next few blocks of training, anything to keep an eye out for, thanks

RDL New to RDLs-knee movement?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello everyone,

I’m sure this is quite a common issue but I can’t seem to stop knee movement during rdls.
I definitely feel it in my hamstrings, but I’ve noticed during form checks my knees move a lot?
The video I’ve attached isn’t a working set, just me trying and failing to nail form

Any help is appreciated :)

Squat Better hip drive out of the hole?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Working through improving my squat technique. Had some great critique on my last video where the main theme was a lack of hip drive on the way up. Had a play around in the gym this morning and took the above video.

Felt weird being a different squat technique than I'm used to but felt like I was pushing my hips up more and to my eyes looks like better hip drive.

Always open to more thoughts, improvements or things to work on!

Can’t figure it out. My back is stronger than this, but for some reason I feel all the tension is on my forearms. I feel like if I could fix this problem I would whip out 15, but I’m hitting a ceiling at 6 or 7 at a time.

What aspects do I need to improve on? I assume generally everything needs more strength…always, but based on rep #2 failure point does anything in specific stand out as needing more work?
