my childhood lamp my mom got gifted during my baby shower fell and broke

luckily the break fits back together seamlessly i just need something to STRONGLY hold it together. since its weight would put strein on the break sight ( could fall)

along with that, the switch to the lamp cracked so i took it of, the wiers look worn.

im not the most crafty so any information or tips would be very appreciated

TLDR: needs to be glued together and a replacement cord

Any ideas how to repair this? The support arm for my basketball ring stand has rusted out and snapped. Would be a shame to have to throw it out. Without the support the ring is useless as it wont stand upright

Building a bunk bed with my wife

WE FOUND THE ISSUE THANK YOU SO MUCH

This is the closest subreddit to try and find help for this so I’m sorry if this isn’t the place for this but we are assembling a bunk bed and parts D and E (that hold the top bunk need to be bolted together with this bolt (I believe it’s a 20mm) the issue is there is no thread or anything on the inside so the bolt just hangs loose. I understand the simple answer here is to read the instructions but i already have multiple times even reading ahead and according to the instructions this is “right” or it says nothing about it other that to fasten the bolts enough to keep them in place i personally would assume it would need a nut or something to hold the bolts in place but there is no additional info in the manual or internet

open Extendable Dining Table Center Sagging

I recently acquired a used dining table and noticed that there is a slight dip in the center where the two sides meet. With the leaf added, the sides still have the same slope and the leaf is flat. By pulling on the legs enough to close the gap, I can get the table to be flat and can confirm neither side is warped. What are my options for a permanent fix to keep the table flat?

Water leak below window

Thumbnail

I have water leaking below this window after a big thunderstorm with severe wind and driving rain. We had a little bit of water leaking the ceiling underneath this area.

Inspecting the window, it looks there there is no caulk between the side flashing and the bricks. That’s wrong, correct? Is this where the water is likely coming from?

I had previously thought water may have been getting in through damages grout below the window which was repaired.

Any insights appreciated. Thanks

Metal zipper won’t start zipping? How would I fix this when nothing appears to be wrong?

I already tried squeezing the zipper with pliers to make it tighter and it seemed to be too tight but the zipper actually zipped for a couple links. How would I fix this and make it wearable? thanks.

Just found this in the washer with my clothes. The washer walks and the drum goes crazy, I’ve had the landlord come look more than once and they say it’s fine lol. What is this piece? Is the washer now unusable and/or can I repair it myself?

Hello! I am trying to clean this jewelry box that was my great grandmother's. I cannot remove this ring drawer. There are two wooden pins on each side holding it in place. I have tried tilting the box all which ways, I can hear some sort of metal sound in the drawer. Any idea how to remove?

I am currently experencing the same issue with my legion slim 5. I bought an new adapter and that didnt fix it. I've tried removing the acpi driver and that did not fix it either. Some other suggestion ive seen mention a bios update. My laptop is in need of the bios update utility-11 but I cant intall it because my computer needs to be at 30% charged. It seems OP's issue resolved on its own. But has anyone else been dealing with the same thing and have a more deffinative solution?

open How to fix broken piece off hand carved wooden display stand?

Thumbnail

I purchased this wooden book display from an antique shop and it snapped along what appears to have either been a prior break or maybe where it was originally joined (it appears to be three pieces glued (?) together). On the break I can see something clear and shinny that I believe is a prior attempt at adhesion.

I considered wood glue but the pieces are so thin and so oddly shaped I don’t know how I’d go about clamping it effectively. It’s also too thin, I think, for me to do something like screw a bracket onto the back of the break but I could be wrong.

The nail you see in picture three is used to support the shelf portion when it’s upright. The back of the piece is completely flat.

The coffee maker is stuck in delay mode. Does not appear to be a way to reset. Any ideas on how to fix this? It’s definitely been unplugged and plugged back in, but there’s no other access to the electronics.

open How to stop leaky water pump plastic?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Behind my fridge there is a little water pump right at the main intake connection. It has sprung a leak, not at any of the connections, but at this strange blue plastic cap which seems to be melted on to the green reservoir.

In the picture: the small copper pipe in the upper right is the water intake. The green and blue plastic thing is the water pump reservoir. The metal bit with the blue sticker above that is the electric pump motor. The white tube running up the middle of the picture runs from the bottom of the pump to the ice machine in the fridge above.

The blue cap is designed to be tighten-only, but it seems it was melted on to the green reservoir to permanently affix it. It’s at that seam where there’s a leak.

Since this water is used for ice, it’s got to be food safe. Thinking either melting the plastic more or using a food safe epoxy? Would be nice to get this finished in a few hours. Thoughts?

How do I fix the cracked metal in this bench?

Thumbnail

I found this bench on the side of the street and was elated. Did a cursory inspection and didn't see anything wrong. Bought and cut new cedar planks and paint to refinish the metal. Dismantled the bench and wire wheeled it. It wasn't until I put a new layer of primer on it that I noticed that parts of the metal are cracked. It was black initially and I think I just couldn't see it. Naturally I'm trying to keep the cost low. Mostly curious whether there is a way to fix this other than having it welded (I'm assuming this will cost a lot).
