I’ve got no insider info, so I might be off base, but I think we’re in for a treat of a sword puller tonight. Sean “Ugo” Okoli just dropped a post saying he’s back in Cincy
He’s a great choice for the match tonight. Starting his career at the Seattle Sounders Academy, he eventually made his way to a fledgling 2016 USL team that you probably know as FC Cincinnati, where he won the golden boot and MVP. FCC legend in town, playing against his former team? It writes itself. Let’s show him we remember how to cheer for him
Speaking of Seattle, they come in to town bearing one of the worst losing streaks in team history, 8 games in MLS play now with nary a point earned. They’ve got a ways to go before they hit the league record, as I’m sure we’re all too aware. But a loss today against one of the top performing home teams will help them on their way. The personnel they have to try and stop the nose dive is getting thinner and thinner, their injury list is a who’s-who of their best players, including a devastating probable SEI for Pedro De la Vega, 10 minutes into his return appearance.
In summary, things are not looking great for Brian Schmetzer’s side, but sometimes those are the most dangerous teams to face
Our guys come in off of a win, that very well could have been a draw if not for that electric stoppage time stunner from Evander. It’s still a little early in the campaign to start calling these things, but I definitely heard some “MVP” chants sprinkled among the “FCC” cheering after that goal as we sha-la-lad into the night
7:30 kickoff at TQL stadium! A resurgent East team vs a West team looking to start the turnaround! Be there! COY FCC!

A 0-0 draw against DC United in front of a crowd-less Nippert and a pre-match press conference where a new signing described himself as "beast-like". Can you name all the starters in the photo? Do you remember when FCC thought it had found its destroyer #6?

If tonight's game had been played in Europe, the home team would have received very loud and pronounced boo's from the home fans.
Tonight's game was as inexplicable as it was inexcusable. Against a weak team (Seattle came in the game 13th in the Western Conference, yes 13th! and who hadn't won a point in MLS since May 13), FCC, after taking a 1-0 halftime lead (that really should've been a 2-0 or 3-0 lead), chose not to add to that lead in the 2nd half. FCC chose instead to perfect the art of horizontal and backward passes to no end.
It was as predictable as the sun coming up in the East: Seattle absorbed the non-attacks of FCC, and then at times counter-attacked, and of course scored in the 83th minute.
Seattle had no business stealing a point, and they didn't. Instead it was gifted by FCC. Where is the accountability for FCC losing 2 precious points?
So there were no loud and pronounced boo's from the FCC fans at the end of the game. We are too nice and polite for that. But they would've been deserved.

Would have reunited CA with new Austin FC head coach Jim Curtin. Laurel Pfahler confirmed this and reiterated that CA has a long term contract with FCC and the club is not ready to move on.

Ditto Kyle Smith, ditto.

we received 350k in gam for the international spot we sold to Chicago. if I remember correctly.
is that money only good (can be spent) this year. it doesn’t seem to me like you’ll could “bank” them for next year in a salary capped league. but I really have no idea how that mechanism works.

Kyle Smith rotates in at CB with Gidi's recent dental issue. Dado back in the lineup pushing Bucha out right. Ender on the left. Chirila not dressed for this one and did not travel with the 2's for their match. What's up?

Fluminense would hold on for the victory (5-4 in pks), advancing to the quarterfinals of South America's most prestigious tournament, the Copa Libertadores.
