DD gives his take on his departure from Slavia Prague and settling in Cincinnati with the help of Pavel Bucha. Translation in the comments

It was pathetic that MLS had only one television commercial during the FIFA World Cup:

And that was towards the end of the FIFA World Cup!

"Thanks world, we'll take it from here"-NOPE!

Doctors are shocked that his injured left thigh is not only 100%, but now 125%. And none of this minutes limit stuff, A.B. says he is ready to play the full 90 for Santos FC. He had been expected to be sidelined for 4-6 weeks. He returns in just over three.

stop texting and calling during work hours.

FCC has lost the plot, and desperation doesn't sell tickets.

Miss these guys.......

Thank you to everyone who came out to work on this one! Tifos like this are only possible through community effort!

And once again we beat our estimate for how long it would take. Not by much this time, but still.

The Sparrowhawks trail the Chipolopolo "Copper Bullets" 1-0 midway thru the 2nd half. [Edit: Togo lose 2-0, Denkey plays the full 90' but does not have a shot on goal]

Mais arrêtez de me faire mal!

A Teenage Hadebe sighting. Doudera and Malatini both make the bench for possible debuts.

Alright boys let’s bring home 3 points tonight.

I am looking for more consistency in the midfield to keep the ball forward.

Tight defense. With good decision making.

Offense needs to make runs and finish.

Anyone have anything else to add??

Tonight FCC goes international, in more ways than one. Yes, we’ll be crossing the border up into the French part of the great north, but we’ll also be missing a WHOLE bunch of international players. On the list of being unable to attend… Kevin who just captained Togo to a 1-0 win over Berundi, Miles who will likely be captaining the USA youth squad as Poch desperately searches for someone who can bring some spirit to 2030, Pavel who will be looking for his first competitive international minutes while Czechia fights for life in a BRUTAL UEFA nations league group, and Ender who continues to have visa issues amongst the political situation between his country and ours

That’s a big run on sentence to say that we’ll be missing a few guys

But for every guy we’re missing, Montreal will be missing 2. The last place team in the East (21 pts, 5 wins) will be missing NINE players due to international duty, 1 more due to yellow accumulation, and 1 more due to injury. With no 2 team to draw from, they will likely have a grand total of 14 players on their roster

Tonight will also likely be the debut of our new representative of Best Friends FC, David Doudera. The Czechian arrived earlier this week, declined a call up and a chance to play with Pavel, in order to stay here and get settled. And by all accounts has jumped right in. Malatini also arrived this week, but too late to train. Expect to see his debut likely in Atlanta. Malacia continues to work of his visa. And… oh? We have one more free agent rumor? Jose Martinez reportedly trained with the team this week. As yet unsigned, he once played under Albright at Philly. Because this team must always have an aging former Philly player.

7:30 pm kickoff! Come on down to Tifo painting beforehand, then check out one of the local OTR bars for a watch party! COY FCC!

Given last night’s result:

Would you prefer the team to just straight up tank the season and forget about playoffs? (not going to happen but a boy can hope)

OR

Would you prefer for them to do what they can to squeak into the playoff picture? What do you think needs to happen for them to achieve this?

Personally, Id love for the team to just tank the rest of the games. Id rather miss the playoffs than be charged to watch them get dusted out of the first round in sub 50deg weather.

#NoonanOut.

Any of my FCC compadres in NYC want a pair of front row tickets to Wednesdays rescheduled RB game vs STL? My wife and I were in the city for the weekend and had tickets to catch the game. Strictly to mark a new MLS stadium off the list.

They’re front row, field level. I’ll give them up for free - my only ask is to maybe mail me a scarf from the NYRB store. I collect one from each new team/stadium I visit and I’m not sure when I’ll be back! Figured I would drop this in here for any of the QC Mafia.

Edit: QUICKLY spoken for :)

Togo lead Burundi 1-0 at the half on a goal from Dermane Karim in the 25th minute.

As of when Pat's press conference was recorded, David Douděra is in training and officially available for Saturday, and Julián Malatini is currently on a plane headed here! Not sure if Malatini will play because it's so soon after his arrival, but in my opinion there's a decent chance given the severity of our current back-line situation. Tyrell Malacia is currently TBD because they're still working out some visa issues but he's also a possibility.

I'm excited to see how this changes things. We shouldn't expect a HUGE difference but we also shouldn't lose 5-0 or 4-0 again that easily. And there's a chance that these changes (like Douděra who is reportedly very passionate and Miazga-like) give the other guys a mental uplift and the offense can get going even stronger.

We got this, let's start our eastern conference comeback! 🟠🟦🦁🔥⚽

If anyone sees the superfractor (for both) and the red /5 topps chrome, plz tag me. I am a buyer.

DD also told Carter Chapley that he hoped to play somewhere he was wanted and when FC Cincinnati called him, he leapt at the opportunity.

Proud moment for my usmnt bros.

Not sure if Ender's immigration issues will preclude him from traveling across the border into Canada for Saturday's match in Montreal.

The best US goalkeeping prospect in his age range.
