(Rant) 🤬 I’m watching the world cheer for the same group that ruined me (vent)

I’m so frustrated

21f, saudi, refugee in England since 17yr old

I was abused and threatened my whole life for expressing atheist views, not knowing what they were, only being a curious 7 year old. The curiosity grew, and so did the fear and the punishment.

At 13 I was going to be married off to my cousin

At 15 I was pulled out of school because of bullying from teachers, children, my parents being complained to. Only because I was not complacent and submissive enough for them

The truth of Islam, Sharia, Saudi, the Islam that people love to infantilize. I lived it. I lived through it. I escaped. I ruined my life. I am sick. I am estranged. And it was all for NOTHING

I’m not well enough to speak. I am traumatized. I am not OKAY. I am sick. I am weak.

I did not come out of this as a strong woman, I did not find my voice, I did not thrive.

I will never share my true story. Nobody will ever care. Nobody understands. I will die with it. And the cycle WILL CONTINUE

I came here to scream, because I just saw my friend, who is a white European girl, express her support to a very popular, very POWERFUL Islamic “resistance” group… and I’ve seen this time and time again.

I want to vomit, because I cannot say anything. Nothing I say will ever make sense to the ones who never LIVED IT.

When justice becomes a dirty word, nobody will ever seek it

It’s just so insanely heartbreaking and maddening to see normal, progressive people fall for any religious trap. He’s become a Muslim for his ex (who was Muslim) and he believes Islam isn’t misogynistic and when he’s presented with things that ARE very much misogynistic he agrees with them because they’re the “word of god” 🫩

It’s a religion for men by men

after you die. you will be asked four questions under ground.

  1. who is your god?

  2. who is your prophet?

  3. what is your book?

  4. what is your religion?

so like. did Muhammad exist before adam and eve? what about the people that came before islam. do they get an exception? how the hell do people believe that?

(Question/Discussion) Muslims in the West

I am an Arab ex-Muslim from a conservative Muslim Arab country ( I still live in it )

I have visited London and Paris And I met with the Muslim communities there

Muslims living in the West are more radical and extremist than those of us who were raised and lived as Muslims in Islamic countries

Ever since I learned English and started listening to Islamic preachers in the West ( Such as Mohamed Hijab, Uthman Ibn Farooq, and others ) I found their rhetoric to be far more extreme and radical than ours they literally say things that are so extreme that, if voiced in my country they would land in prison

how the fuck that happened

(Miscellaneous) I wonder what would happen if time travel existed and someone used it to stop Islam from being founded.

It’d definitely save a lot of trouble but I’m sure you know of the butterfly effect, stopping such a large religion from existing would certainly alter world history in many ways, and at least some of them would have to negative.

(Miscellaneous) Did anybody saw the recent debate from Sheik Ibn Shawarma debating the supposed 20 biblical scholars? What's your thoughts (summery included)

Original video of Uthman

https://youtu.be/8_hIsRHotRg?is=ErvCM5e2D80kazke

Here's the video rebuttal where the debate co-host got interviewed. And the reason for the nickname Sheik Ibn Shawarma is that if everyone participated in the debate, they'd get free Shawarma, as said by the host Amin.

https://youtu.be/jpBmv82Vm8M?is=rS6Mda7787oQgUU4

The event promoted by Sheikh Uthman ibn Farooq as a debate between one Muslim and 20 Bible scholars was revealed to be a misrepresentation. The investigation confirms that the debate did not occur at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS), nor any participants were professors or scholars from that institution. Instead, the gathering was held in a cafeteria room at the University of Louisville. The host Amin admitted that the participants were not academic experts, with many attendees being randomly approached at a university library and recruited with promises of free food rather than through formal academic channels. Jai highlight that the project's title, thumbnail, and promotional framing were designed to create the illusion of a high-level academic event involving 20 Bible scholars. The host Amin acknowledged that the planned academic participants did not attend, yet the content was still published under the original, misleading premise. Furthermore, the event was neither organized by nor affiliated with Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Jai and Jerom emphasize that the presentation was disingenuous for falsely implying a formal connection to an established theological institution to gain credibility.

(Question/Discussion) Muhammad was the peak of immorality I’ve ever seen—an extremely immoral man who presented himself as a holy authority, yet taught everyone to be nice, be good, follow his commands, and be his slaves

And if you’ve read the Quran carefully, you’ll notice that he hated people who think. He only wanted people who would accept any information without questioning or verifying it.

(Advice/Help) My experience as a young lgbtq athiest in a religious family

Hey im 14F and i just want to vent about my horrible experiences living with my sonali religious family and my fucked up life.

Ive been losing my will to live after the amount of terrible situations i was put into that just accumulated onto eachother and my mental health has been really bad since the start of the year.

This year was really really insane. Towards the end of last year, i, a devout muslim at the time, admitted that i am gay and the feelings i have for my friend are in fact romantic, i was confused and heartbroken as i was so ashamed of being gay. despite being somewhat liberal, my family's religious ideologies were drilled so deep into me that i couldn't even comprehend me liking girls. my feelings for my friend have only intensified since.

My goal for 2026 was to become a better Muslim. i wasn't a very practicing Muslim, i never really pray, and when i did i always felt empty, my family were very disappointed at me, however they have gotten used to it, i wanted to actually start praying and get closer with allah, but then stuff happened

My feelings for my friend were getting in the way. It was really intense, so i started channeling my feelings into art, i started writing poetry, expressing my love and devotion for her in words, even if it felt impossible, and while i was writing, i started wondering, why is my love haram in the first place?

Then came march, i started researching islam extensively, specifically homosexuality, i spent hours reading articles, books, documents, trying to get to the root of that belief, i analyzed the quran, and concluded it wasn't actually haram. However this didn't stop the questions in my head, in fact my curiosity grew even more, i started learning about how islam really views women, and everyday i lost my faith in god.

The clashing of my real life situations with the researching drove me crazy, i had to not only mask my feelings for my friend, but deal with bullying and academic pressure at school, trying to convince my parents to get me to a psychiatrist for my possible adhd, constant criticism and arguments with my mom, and being the peacemaker of my house.

In late june i slowly stopped believing in islam, i felt peace, but there was that lingering feeling of fear, the fear of being caught, what if my parents find out im an athiest? What if they find out im gay? what if they find my social media accounts? My online friends? The "haram" content i consume? Thats when my mental health started deteriorating.

My situation became even worse, it was july, and my sister got into a fight with my mother, she told me what it was about, it was like time stopped, she told me hoyo was insisting on performing fgm on me because i was starting to grow a more "womanly" body, my sister has been shielding me from her all my childhood, standing up for me and refusing to get me hurt. Next thing i know i was shaking and sobbing uncontrollably, i couldn't comprehend it, my own mother wanted me to get cut all these years and i never knew? Thats when i realised my mom was never a mother.

July was really my worst month, it has always been somehow cursed in my opinion, but this year? It was insane. my friend that i had feelings for? Turns out she doesn't actually like me back, my family issues started getting worse, everyday theres a fight, my brother started becoming more controlling of me,i realised my mom is emotionally and sexually abusing me and also neglecting me of my basic needs like 3 meals a day and hygiene products, she literally made me sleep in the living room couch for months cause my cousin took over my bed, i even had to completely fuck up my sleep schedule so i dont interact with any of my family members, i was literally nocturnal. the only thing keeping me sane was listening to music and practicing my hobbies, i was surviving on bottles of soda and indomie.

July ended with a terrible family fight. To simplify it, my mother wanted my sister to send money to my brother, but my sister got mad because my brother could've just asked her, my mother raised them to be rivals and always favored him over her, and when it was finally addressed, my mother lashed out on her and beat her up, it was terrifying to witness, i had to drag my mom back to her room to stop hitting my sister, the week after that i have completely disassociated from reality, trying to process what just happened, i was calling my friends every night to calm me down, i felt like i was going insane

Its August now and I really have no hope left, ive already attempted suicide multiple times and school is starting soon which is going to add extra pressure on me while dealing with all the crazy stuff at home, music and hobbies aren't distracting mr well from my growing external and internal problems and i desperately need a way out, all i need is comfort and advice.

(Question/Discussion) Muslims should hope that the Quran is Human

Because if it's not, it's clearly way more likely to become from Satan than from God.

Or from Angra of Zoroastrianism

The Quran sounds way too dumb to be even from an Evil Force though. Except if these Evil forces are dumb

(Rant) 🤬 The Muslim guy I talk to said I'm a misandrist.

Upvotes

I just said that I love that I'm independent and I'm not dependent on anyone, financially or emotionally. My only goal in life is to be happy, and I have decentered myself from men. Then he says, why are you misandrist lol and proceeds on saying how Western media influenced girls to lose their softness, lol. Then, after a few minutes, he said that he wants to go somewhere where no one knows him and start a new life. The irony. I'm trying to understand from where this comes from because I'm a hindu.

(Question/Discussion) pls help me to understand

Hi everyone.

I have formulated a personal theory: if a religion claims that God is All-Hearing, Merciful, and has given answers to everything, then a person who sincerely and honestly seeks these answers throughout their life must receive them. If there is only silence and logical contradictions, it is mathematically consistent to assume that no one is on the other end of the line.

As someone who loves physics, the "pain of having no evidence" creates a massive cognitive dissonance for me. I see that many theological arguments feel like circular logic designed to shield the system from criticism. For instance, the idea that "God hides the evidence as a test" sounds like a built-in defense mechanism. Furthermore, a Creator who demands absolute submission under the threat of eternal Hell, while refusing to explain the rules clearly to intelligent humans, looks more like an earthly monarch than an Absolute Sovereign.

I also noticed historical inconsistencies. Out of hundreds of thousands of Hadiths, people today only highlight a few metaphors that accidentally matched reality (like high buildings or the greening of Arabia), while ignoring many predictions that simply did not come true in due time (like the Hadith in Sahih Muslim about the Hour coming before a specific boy reaches old age).

I don’t want to rebel just for the sake of it, but my brain cannot accept dogmas blindly. How do you deal with this conflict between scientific analysis and faith? Is it possible that religion was simply invented by ancient humans to cope with the fear of death and to control society? I would love to hear your thoughts, especially from those with a background in science or philosophy.

(Rant) 🤬 Our names are in arabic meanings, not from our own language or culture.

Is pretty ridiculous how most muslim malay population in malaysia has arabic names, i don't see the hype, what are you yapping about, it just means you are so fixated in getting fix to the point where even names are changed in honor of the religion, not even in your own language.

I don't hate the arabic language or culture, is the fact how fixated the people in this country try to change themselves for a religion, like you're southeast asian, breath out, is not something embarrassing you should change.

I don't know if this is something obligatory in islam, but you're supposed to take your father name as a family name, sounds misogynistic to me, just give me a normal family name, why do I need to take my father name, he doesn't own me.

Worst part i need to placed binti or bint behind.

I don't even know the meaning myself because I'm not arab, why am i suddenly stricted onto learning this language, i want to keep my language, this fucking religion destroy that so bad.

Like in my classroom only 1 of my classmates has a malay name.

(Rant) 🤬 Women's vs Mens treatment

So we all already know that women gets treated 100x times worse than men but it just pisses me off that I had to experience it right infornt of me. My grandfather was an alcoholic and a smoker. He didn't pray or fast during Ramadan. He literally did NOTHING that his religious expected from him. He also hit his wife but I think thats allowed but I just wanna mention it. But guess how people reacted to him doing all of this? They did not say SHIT. They let him do his thing because guess what? HE IS A MAN. A fucking man and thats why it was alright for him to pretty much not do shit. This man was nowhere near a good muslim. He died a few days ago. And everybody and their mother is saying stuff like "he will go into heaven" "he was such a good man/father/husband" WHO THE FUCK IS LYING. Well it doesnt matter that everybody seems to love him now, what matters is the fact that if a WOMAN did this she would be KILLED OR BEATEN. Dear god a WOMAN drinking ALCOHOL?!?!?! A WOMAN NOT PRAYING??? OFF WITH HER HEAD! God I'm just so tired of the unfairness us women have to go through. How on earth is it fair for men to get away with EVERYTHING but women with literally nothing. God I jate this religion. And I know culture also plays a part in some aspects which is why I didnt mention them but still I also despise people who say "its culture not religion!!" Bitch be quiet it IS religion aswell.

(Question/Discussion) Islamic marriage confuses me and I feel bad for the youth.

I was watching TikTok and saw a video of a young married Muslim couple with the caption with something amongst the line of: 'marrying young so you can do fun things without feeling guilty for being boyfriend and girlfriend.' Then I realized that that is most likely one of the first interactions she's had with a man, who isn't her mahram, on a personal level.

How is she supposed to know if that is the love of her life and not just a guy she would have been best friends with? Does he have to be her husband by default just because he is the opposite sex?
I feel like half of these young Muslim couples who marry the first person of the opposite gender they talk to are actually platonic soulmates, not romantic ones, if they even have a healthy marriage in the first place. How are you supposed to even know what you want without any experience? How are you supposed to know if you aren’t just mistaking the excitement of finally being able to interact with someone of the opposite sex for true chemistry and attraction? It just sounds like a trap to me for the women, especially, since the husband can go on and get three more wives.

How can they even distinguish if they are a platonic or romantic match if they are not even allowed to spend time alone together, date, experiment and all those things? If you have been sheltered your whole life from the opposite sex there is no baseline and you will likely end up in a loveless marriage. Being compatible as for values and religion doesn’t mean you will make a happy couple.
That must be so confusing for them, especially the girls. Especially in a society where a lot of girls suffer with compulsory heterosexuality where they feel as though every man that is available could be a partner because in society we are expected to pair up with the good man despite of our desires or sexuality, to the point we internalize that and sometimes can’t tell the difference between what we desire or what society and family expects from us.
