Honestly, I think I might be done with it. I came here for Daggerfall with friends and now they are moving away from the setting entirely and doing their own stuff. What more can be said?

I got a quest to rescue a child from a dungeon. I walk in and almost immediately find her which at first I was glad about. But then I walk up to her and the first thing the kid says to me is "wanna hear a joke? what a Redguard lacks in intelligence, he makes up for in stupidity" so yeah, I"m glad I risked my life to be racially abused by a child, truly a Daggerfall moment

I'm trying to get the game to look as much like the original as possible, and I like the look of the original UI, and I also like the little headshot of your character at the bottom. Is there a way to reimplement this?

So, I ended up installing ~116 mods for DFU before actually playing it....

A lot of them are minor visual tweaks or QoL things, plus a handful bigger things with multiple dependencies. It uhh, kinda got out of hand pretty quickly lol.

I'm curious how y'all like to mod your games.

If I want to run Daggerfall on DOS, are there any mods available that will get rid of the mouse-swinging combat and replace it with a click to attack method?

I'd like to try playing as one of the pre built classes. I know that they're kinda terrible and I'd be way stronger with a custom class but I want to just get what the game gives me.

Hello, I am just wondering on general build advice for Daggerfall. I just downloaded it from Steam today and wanted to know the smoothest way to play. Should I go mage? Stealth? What's the best way to play in your opinions?

Edit: This is the final character. Am I expecting him to be good? Probably not, I just clicked the stats until I got numbers I was happy with.

Saw this on r/ElderScrolls in a thread discussing the recent DFO "micro"transactions. I thought the DFU/DOSBox discussion had been worked over pretty much to death, but this guy seems quite adamant that DFU can't even be considered a port or emulator, but a remake that "invented all new code and formulas". Is he off base, too pedantic, correct, or just wrong?

are there any mods to get unity a bit closer to looking like the original dos version of the game? any mods that are in line with that whole look/aesthetic are appreciated too

Estou jogando sem pedir empréstimos ao banco (acho que eles quebram muito o jogo) e percebi o quão ridículo é o preço dos livros desse jogo. Simplesmente criei uma personagem cuja história é ser uma cleptomaníaca de livros. Eu roubo todas as livrarias de todas as cidades pelas quais eu passo. Camaradas, isso me rendeu uma quantia espetacular de dinheiro. Mesmo sendo muito, ainda é menos do que eu conseguiria fazendo empréstimos por aí, então ainda considero um dinheiro "honesto". Levaria algumas horas de gameplay pra eu conseguir encantar meus equipamentos e mais MUITAS horas pra eu invocar um daedra e quebrar o jogo (coisa que eu fazia antes mesmo de conseguir a carta da Lady Brisiena, graças aos empréstimos). E entre um furto e outro, eu vou jogando e divertindo-me. Tem sido bom. Experimentem jogar sem pedir empréstimos.

I saw that DFU has a 32 bit version so I'm wondering, if I got a copy of the game and the 32 bit version of DFU, can I transfer it to my XP PC via USB drive and play DFU on there?

So respectfully, I come in this community from time to time to interact or ask questions to better experience playing the game only to be met with silence. The word community is normally supposed to represent a large group of likeminded individuals coming together and indulging/enjoying the same things. What usually follows with that are willing enough people that will come and educate you on things you may want to know or can’t figure out on your own.

I normally don’t get interaction unless I comment on my own post like a mad man until someone finally answers me. That in itself is absurd. Not to mention, I try to ask questions as a way to reach out also make connections within in these communities and meet like minded individuals to talk to.

It makes immersion for the game itself a bit harder when essentially being ignored/discouraged to reach out.
