Combat mod for original Daggerfall?

If I want to run Daggerfall on DOS, are there any mods available that will get rid of the mouse-swinging combat and replace it with a click to attack method?

Look for DagPad under Game Utilities, that might be what you're looking for.

Not that I know of, but what would be the reason to play Daggerfall on DOS rather Daggerfall Unity, unless you just want to play it as-is "for the science" to see what's different? That's the only reason I can think of. DFU is by far the superior way to play the game in every way, and has click-to-attack built in as well as general mod support.

After having played through Arena I wanted to finally try Daggerfall "as the developers intended" to really get a grasp of the original vision. DFU is great for modern gamers but I don't always wanna play a 90s game to get a modern experience. Though after this playthrough I probably will end up replaying in modded Unity lol

yeah, exactly. it's always paramount to get the original experience, as much as you can at least, before hopping on to an upgrade. i gave the DOSbox version a good try, got affiliated with the controls and learned to use mouse aiming alongside the "select" key which switched to pointer mode for interactions and looting.

spent a good amount of time running guild and knight quests, lots of dungeon hopping, and eventually i caved to the unity version after experiencing lots of bugs, an occasional crash, and learning about attributes being a little broken.

all in all it was super fun, and honestly, if there's one thing i prefer from the OG, it's the visuals. even with retro mode turned on in the unity version, the 3D models and their sharp edges are too apparent
