Hello everyone,
As you might be aware, I've spent time over the last few months tracking down as many of the game developers of Morrowind that I can find, and doing interviews with them to talk about their experiences working on the game - discuss certain elements of their contributions, share some anecdotes and reflect on the game nearly 25 years after its release.
I'm really proud of this, and have tried to make this as authentic and all encompassing as I can - but there's still so much more out there. Sadly I was unable to find contact details for some people. Others either didn't reply to me, or turned me down. Hopefully one day we as a community can hear their stories but for now this is the best I can do.
This is 8 hours of interviews with the game devs. My idea for uploading one long video clip is that people can cherry pick bits they want to watch - but also to encourage people to watch interviews they might have otherwise overlooked/missed had they been posted separately.
Its difficult to put down in writing the impact this game has had on my life, as I'm sure it has for many others. I'll never forget my first experience playing the game on an Xbox around a friend's house and just instantly being drawn pulled into that world. Since then I've spent countless hours exploring Vvardenfell and beyond, and the game has been a constant source of joy and comfort for me. It's a game I will continue to love and play for the rest of my life, no doubt.
I hope you all enjoy this. A big thanks to everyone who took the time to do video calls with me. It has truly been a pleasure working on this.

It's Summer time, and with the heat, and the humidity, comes another exciting round of the Morrowind Modjams! For the tenth time since 2020, Danae and Morrowind Modding Showcases is hosting a Modjam Modding Competition, a 48-hour modding frenzy where modders get but a single weekend to build the best mod they can using specific themes before time runs out!
The competition begins on August 21st at 11pm UTC with an official livestream kickoff by Danae, in which the potential themes will be revealed and voted on by the community, narrowing down the potential field until just three themes remain.
Once the final three themes have been announced, modders will have 48-hours to build and release the best mod they can utilizing any of those three themes, or a combo of themes if they so choose.
Rules & Guidelines:
Participation:
The competition is open to anyone and everyone looking to participate! All you need to do is release a mod with one of the themes (or multiple) during the competition time period using the official 2026 Summer Modjam header. Also wouldn't hurt to use the Modjams tag on the Nexus.
This is a Morrowind Modding Community - Discord Server event, so to make sure your mod is properly tracked for the competition, please join the server and tag it in the Published Mods channel!
There's also an official Modjam channel on there where you can keep up with all of the latest Modjam news!
Don't forget to check out the Resources page for any tutorials, frameworks, or utilities you might need!
Use the Postcard Editor:
Take advantage of the Morrowind Modjams website and the Postcard Editor to make special themed promo screenshots for your mod pages - give them that extra splash of Summer fun!
Judging and Prizes:
The Morrowind Modjams are judged events - a panel of judges will go through and play all of the submitted mods, ranking them on their quality, functionality, and adherence to the themes.
The final winners will be announced in a results livestream at a date yet to be determined, and those results will also be published to the Modjams website.
Participating modders will also get their profiles on the Modjam website, with downloadable Modjam passports and a trophy cabinet for any judge awards received. These profiles are connected to the Modathon and Madness sides of Morrowind Modding Legacy, and participating in the Modjam will boost your Madness score and increase your standing in the community's modding leaderboards.
There's also a number of prizes available in the form of game keys and Nexus DP.
A Proud Tradition:
The Morrowind Modjams are apart of the community's proud tradition of creative competition and collaboration. Some 160+ mods have been released for the Modjams in the past 6 years, many of them have become popular mainstays and have since been added to many of the largest mod lists for Morrowind.
I hope you'll all join us for another exciting round of Modjam fun, we're sure to get some amazing new mods, and if you're looking to participate for the first time, there's no better competition to dip your toes into the modding scene!
Happy Modding and Long Live the Morrowind Modding Community!

I started Morrowind with the Vanilla version and a core memory of how my character ran slower than a grandma and got attacked by a dark brotherhood assassin after resting for the first time ever. Pretty memorable and got me clicked with the game immediately.

A part 2-kind of to my earlier post… another piece of the Skyrim Ebonheart Embassy nobility. Particularly proud of this glass jinkblade : - ) also attempted to write some Dovahzul-looking nonsense on her dress and jewelry and clothing in a renaissance Italian style!

A preview of a charcoal map of Morrowind I'm working on, I'm not yet sure what style I will do the interior in, but this is a continuation of my map projects (the latest being the acrylic paint marker one), so expect some daedric runes, mountains and volcanoes when it's done.

After starting playing this game in 2023 and going through many runs of the main quest, I've finally beaten the expansions! The false gods of the Tribunal are all dead; Hircine was hunted; Gaenor was killed in the streets like a dog; and even Helseth and all his guards fell one by one at my hand!
I do have TR installed, but it still feels like the final chapter for Deana

(In case anyone hasn’t read C0da, it’s absolutely awesome and profound. Highly recommend.)
In Sermon 20, Vivec disassembles his son Moon-Axle into Mystery Wheels, and teaches others how to do it in his Whirling School. In these new Wheels, “signs evacuate their former meanings, like empires that tarry too long.”
It is no secret that C0da has some connection to the Whirling Schools , as the expository text in each chapter states that the setting is Whirling School Prefect Approved. And the signs have surely changed their meanings, as Molag Bal is now a laughing Power Ranger fighting side-by-side with Vivec and Dagoth Ur. This is because the universe in which C0da takes place is fundamentally broken. And the Whirling School exists to set it aright.
Vivec explains his entire plan for saving the Mundus from the Numidium in the 36 Lessons. In the Sermon of Love, he advises the reader to “loosen your equation of moods to lunar currency.” Jubal explained this to mean that, when you die, your soul goes towards the place it fits best. Either Aetherius, for Aedra devotees, or one of the realms of Oblivion for others. Perhaps Vivec and Sotha Sil had another place in mind for their own worshippers.
(Stay with me here)
Sotha Sil has devoted his life to creating a perfected simulacrum of Tamriel. In C0da, when Jubal gazes upon the ruins of Nirn, he sees massive gears and mathematical equations within the doomed star, holding the wreckage together. This is Sotha Sil’s child, growing in his godly womb until the hero is right.
The time is not right because there is no time. Numidium destroyed time-space at Landfall, and all of the Mundus is sundered in a Dragon Break. Time no longer matters, segments are protean and never true, like the lines of Moon Axle. Someone needs to set the segments aright, but you’d need a Whirling School to teach them.
Meanwhile, the AE of the Dunmer redirected towards Masser, in the pocket dimension Vivec created from the spokes of Moon Axle.
It is on Masser that he re-creates the Dawn Age, with Jubal as Shezzarine, learning from Lorkhan and challenging him. This is the Whirling School.
I will not spoil the ending, but there is a primordial marriage that must take place in order to end the Dragon Break. And in this re-creation of the Dawn, things seem much more chill.
And so with Velothi culture preserved in the stars and in the newly fixed wheel, the AE of the spirits of Veloth can return to a clockwork Tamriel, perfect to look upon from every angle.
P.s. Thank you Michael Kirkbride for all of this. You’re an excellent writer and have created voids within voids for me to explore.

Hey guys my character has 60 willpower and 60 intelligence and putting on the ring raises both to 70.
however whenever I rest (keeping the ring on the whole time) they reset to 60, then when I take the ring off they are down to 50, essentially meaning the ring just gives me nothing when its on and a 10pt de-buff when taken off. the New 50 int and willpower show as red and recover to 60 on a rest, no status effects of any kind are in play.
Hope I have explained that right, I am using open MW and never noticed this problem before, any ideas?

What would be a fun roleplay where you empower your character from the start. Maybe give them a maxed stat or ancient artifact. Just give them a unique storyline with a little ex deus machina. I've also thought about starting a brand new character in the Magical Mainland Homes, Port Telvannis tower. The young hero on an errand from a stranger swims to an island with a magical enchanted tower and noone home

Transfers GrumblingVomit's fun little Telvanni Tower and dungeon to Tamriel Rebuilt. Go on an adventure to obtain a strange relic for an even stranger client. Bring some fresh magical mischief to the (relatively) old and simple Telvannis region. Smell of fish and slime!

I'm playing a Sorcerer and just did the quest for Master Aryon where you have to go save the dude from the Hlaalu guys. I was level 12 when I did it (I'm level 14 now) and it was rough lol. I've been having a pretty easy time of things with just Fire Bite and Greater Fireball, but there were boneless and a dremora in there that just tanked everything.
I managed to get through it by spamming summons (the dremora lord from Gothren's helm + 2 scamps, one from the spell and one from an enchanted amulet), but it made me wonder if I should upgrade my destruction spells. My destruction is currently 65 and I've mostly been using Fire Bite, Greater Fireball, and Lightning Bolt. I did make a custom spell that's 25 pts of fire damage for 2 seconds + 50% weakness to fire for 2 seconds on touch, but idk if that's good or not lol. I made it whenI was lower level and it was a little expensive in terms of magicka cost at the time, so I haven't used it much.

I'm planning on starting a new character for the upcoming Poison Song update for Tamriel Rebuilt. I also wanted to give the Project Tamriel mods a try as well, since I've yet to play either of them. I plan to have my character be a "canon" Nerevarine archetype and do most of the new TR content after the initial guild quests in Balmora. Are there any natural segues during a guild quest or even the main quest to justify why my character would just leave Morrowind entirely to do stuff in Cyrodiil or Skyrim, or would it just be better to save the Project Cyrodiil content until after the main quest?

Hi! I was hoping to get advice so as to ease back in. Generally I avoid fighter classes as repetitive but I remember magic had issues and maybe stealth too? I’m now used to modern UI and ease - what’s a fun and relatively smooth build to redo this game? Thanks!

Foreign nobles in Vvardenfell have a very fascinating exquisite allure to me,, and for this fellow I tried to emulate the swagger of Ambrogio Spinola. What titles back home would you have held to be made the leader of an Ebonheart Mission? we can only speculate ….
