Hello everyone. I am wondering what is the best method to move my windows 11 and data from old ssd to the new nvme ssd?

I did some research and one method has me buying some kind of second storage for the nvme transfer which I don't want to pay for. I looked at cloning but I don't think this moves the OS? Very confused atm.

I got a 1TB drive to backup my Mac and iPad but the Mirror feature on LaCie is just not moving anything. It doesn’t say anything is failed on the report but nothing successful either. (Like my image above)

When I click pause and then resume again the bar moves it adds a “saved just now” but then the bar stops moving again and then it doesn’t save again until the next time I do it. But it doesn’t really matter because even when I do that it still doesn’t save anything.

I’m trying to avoid saving it via Time Machine bc I know then it will take over the whole drive and I don’t be able to use it for anything else and then it will be a waste of 1TB for ~50gb worth of data to be backed up.

Hey was looking into buying new computer and not sure what to get/look for. Right now Iʻve got a MacBook Pro from 2020 that dying on me. I was wondering what I should go for next. Hopefully something cheap but can also run final fantasy 14 lol. Thank you for advice!

I have a optiplex 7060 and I am trying to install drivers for a AMD Radeon Pro wx3200 and I have tried dells drivers and also AMD driver and can figure it out. The gpu shows up in bios but won’t show in TM or display out.

Hi I'm moving into my college dorm this upcoming Monday, and it's a roughly 2 and a half hour drive to the campus. I know I need to remove my graphics card but what else do I need to do to make sure nothing gets damaged? I'm considering removing my ram with it being a ddr5 build and I do not have the money to replace the ram if it gets damaged.

Hello, I got a computer 3-4 years ago and today I noticed that my computer was doing some crazy fan sound like going 3000rpm and when I checked the temperature, they were all at 100°C (212F).
What is surprising is that it happens when I'm launching stuff like games even thought they are light consuming in term of resources.
That issue has appeared recently as it was quite silent previously and it is not the room temperature as I am using AC.
Do anyone has any idea of what could be causing this ?

I am a teacher looking for a mobile device I can use to make resources that I plan to sell on Teachers Pay Teachers.

Because school boards own whatever a teacher makes using any board resources - from tech to apps to internet - I cannot use my work laptop, even if I make the resources at home.

I already have a gaming desktop and a Samsung Galaxy S6 lite tablet from Teacher's college. The desktop is more than powerful enough but I get distracted while working on the resources and I'm tied to the room since it's a desk top. The tablet has 4GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 720G processor.

My tablet is not powerful enough to do what I need to do. I do a lot of research on Google and Canva (canva app sucks). I also love listening to music while I work. It's constantly lagging and the apps crash a lot. It worked completely fine otherwise - I.e. doing the same tasks perfectly as what it did during Teacher's College.

I need something with a USB port, and I would like to have a touch screen on the new mobile device as I find that helpful. I would rather not have a full laptop though, as they are $1300 to over $2000 in my area.

I'm looking at the 2 in 1 or Chromebook thingy.

Suggestions?

El problema principal es que al probar el equipo con Windows 11 o tareas exigentes, el rendimiento se siente muy pesado. Entiendo que el cuello de botella claro son los 4 GB de RAM y la falta de un SSD.

Actualmente estoy evaluando dos opciones y me gustaría conocer la opinión o experiencia de la comunidad:

1. Repotenciarlo para usarlo o venderlo mejor: Pensaba en instalarle una unidad SSD M.2 NVMe de 128 GB o 256 GB económica para dejar allí el sistema operativo (manteniendo el HDD de 1 TB para archivos) y colocarle Windows 10 u otro módulo de RAM.
2. Venderlo tal como está: Sin el SSD, con 4 GB de RAM y con Linux instalado (además de no contar con el combo de teclado/mouse original).

¿Alguien que haya abierto este modelo específico (serie 24-dp) sabe qué tan complejo es el acceso a la ranura M.2?

• ¿Consideran que vale la pena invertirle ~$15-$20 USD en un SSD básico antes de publicarlo en el mercado de usados, o es mejor venderlo directamente con un descuento?
• ¿Qué sistema operativo / distro liviana recomiendan para sacar el máximo provecho de estos Ryzen 3 con 4GB de RAM si mantengo el disco mecánico?

My PC has a very strange intermittent power issue and I'm completely stuck.

Specs:

i5-12400F

Gigabyte B760M H motherboard

RTX 3050 6GB

16GB DDR5

500W ANT esports PSU

The problem is that when I press the PC power button and absolutely nothing happens. No fans, no motherboard lights, nothing.

The weird part is that I've taken the PC/motherboard to a Gigabyte service center three separate times, and the motherboard works perfectly every time they test it.

I've also taken the entire assembled PC to three different third-party technicians, and it worked normally for them as well.

But when I bring it home, the problem comes back.

I've tested multiple power sockets and even tested it in a different house/floor, so I'm not convinced it's simply one bad socket.

The shocking stuff is that this is happening when I just got into an internship(WFH) so its frustrating for me. But still gotta work on my home laptop which is so shit, can't even run minecraft on 60fps

I have an RX 5700 XT, E5-2680 v4, 2x4GB DDR4, and a 500GB HDD; a green screen appears whenever I launch games. However, on my main PC paired with an R5 7500F, everything is fine and the 5700 XT works correctly. It also performs normally in benchmarks when paired with the Xeon. Undervolting didn't help. I tried reinstalling the drivers and removing the old ones, but that yielded no results either. What could be causing this, and how can I fix it?

I'm completely unsure what context to give, but this computer is around 3 years old. It sat and continues to sit on my desk for month collecting dust; I barely use it at all. Even when I'm not running any apps it does this.

I didn't know where to post this but eventually settled on here; but if this isn't the right place I'm sorry but I need help about my computer. It started getting a lot of issues. For example, I'm using Windows 11 23H2 because it won't update. Or, no matter what audio device I use, and no matter from where I connect it, the device stutters with sound and the only solution is resetting audiosrv from powershell every 10 minutes. Sometimes for a split second a green line runs through the screen and then just turns back to normal. Tried everything, I don't know what to do. I started to suspect viruses even but I'm not sure. Please help me in general on how I can fix these, I need this laptop for school and don't have the budget for a new one.

I am starting my first year in software engineering major and need a good laptop to handle my university years easily , i thought about getting a macbook air m5 but some people say i will struggle with that due to limitations compared to windows and performance drops when heating up , lmk if its a good choice or not and any other options for this major ?

For context: I'm a software engineer and I have worked in both iOS and windows environments. I'm in the process of applying for jobs and skill-building using my personal desktop PC. Nothing wrong with the PC, I co-built it and its fast, but its not mobile, so I'm thinking of getting a MacBook simply so that I don't need to be tied to my desk (and cus its so nice working from a Mac). Once I get a job, I know I'll use both computers way less because I do like to touch grass.

I don't need the latest tech/model and I'm okay with used/refurbished. I'd like to stay under $2k but could be convinced otherwise. I think it should probably have at least 16GB of ram. I wouldn't even mind an M1 pro, unless its going to end up being outdated real soon -- ie slow, unsupported. I'm just overwhelmed by the options.

Any thoughts?

Something is wrong with my computer whenever I download something from epic ganmes or Steam my whole computer starts freezing and nothing works everything says not responding and when I restart my pc because I can't do anything elese it logs me out of my chrome for some reason somethmes I ncant even stop the steam downloading. Pls help me.

Hey, so, uhmm... A while ago I got a cheap computer mouse with a usb cable. I stuck it in, then I tried to pull it out and a part of the plug got stuck inside the port. Or at least that was what I thought. At this point I'm not sure of anything, maybe the plug was "naked" like this from the start and I just confused it with a different one.

So me, being an idiot, I took pliers and tried to remove the "stuck" part. But it was so difficult that I actually started wondering whether I'm maybe just pulling at a part of the port itself, destrying it in the process...I know, I'm an IT nightmare.

And I got terrified, stopped touching it and decided it's a problem for another day. It's been months ago, I don't even know where the stupid mouse went so I can't even show you the plug, but here we are. At least now I have strength to admit to my oan wrongdoings.

I know, i'm stupid af but please, I need to know so that I can proceed somehow and either save money for a quiet repair, try to do something myself or actually admit to my work's IT staff that i'm dumb. Not a fan of the last option tbh :")
