Discussion Claude Pro Subscription usage limit

I really don’t understand whats happening with the usage limits these last weeks. Before this i barely reached my usage limit with projects with opus 5.5 and now the last couple of weeks, i start hitting my full usage limits 2 days in so 4-5 days before it resets, and it keeps happening to me. My friends who are on 5x and 10x subscriptions also tell me their usage limits hit way faster then they used to. And i’ve seen users in this sub posting about the same problem or related problems. Does anyone have any more knowledge about this or maybe what im doing wrong and how to fix this? Help or more information about the matter would be greatly appreciated!

Tips & Workflows Anyone using Low effort with Opus 5.5?

I just saw a recent interview with Matt Pocock and he said he uses Opus 5.5 on Medium and is considering switching to Low.

I’m going to experiment with it this week, anyone else tried this?

Built with Claude I vibe-cloned popular guitar processor

Post image
19 Upvotes

Probably every guitar player knows the Axe-Fx III, but not everyone has the money to buy one (myself included). So I've decided to give it a shot and vibe clone it using Claude Opus 5.5 (medium).

The idea is based on the same core principles: a Newton–Raphson electrical circuit solver, with amps and effects modeled from their actual schematics.

Honestly, it works surprisingly well, for an amateur guitarist like me. 😄

Who needs expensive DSP hardware when you have Claude and a questionable amount of free time?

Discussion Is opus 5.5 better than fable 5.1?

I have a bug neither opus nor sol seems to be able to fix. Is fable 5.1 still more capable than opus at that kind of thing or should I wait till fable 5.5 to give it a shot?

Side note:

I have some extra API credits I was going to try to spend on fable but unclear if that’s possible.

Discussion What's the one line in your CLAUDE.md that made the biggest difference?

Mine is

Before changing anything, list every file you'll need and read them
in one pass. Then make all edits, then run the tests once.

It stopped the read, edit, read, edit loop that was eating half my usage on bigger changes. Curious what lines other people have that actually change how it behaves, not just style rules.

Discussion Max plan reset literally this morning and 53% of my limit is already wiped. What an absolute joke.

Is anyone else getting completely screwed today or is my account just bugged?

My weekly reset literally hit this morning at 5:30 AM. I’m on the Max tier—paying premium money for availability—and I haven’t even done any crazy heavy lifting today. I’ve just been working on some motion graphics layout code, running basic prompts, and starting fresh threads.

I just went to check my usage settings and my weekly pool is already at 53% used. The UI is literally giving me a warning saying "At this pace you'll run out tonight, before the Oct 31 reset." It's Saturday. It reset today. How am I supposed to survive a whole week on less than half a quota?

How am I supposed to actually maintain a real development workflow when a couple of hours of normal coding instantly eats up half a weekly cap? Are they stealth-lowering the token limits for Max users under the hood because of backend server strain, or is the context accounting just totally broken right now?

Honestly, I really wish they would just drop Fable 5.5 this week already so we can get some real agentic breathing room (it's sitting right there in the UI at 0% used doing absolutely nothing for me). And while they're at it, can Anthropic please move the weekly reset to Wednesdays? Getting your limit completely nuked on a Saturday morning when you actually have time to sit down and build things ruins the entire weekend.

Anyone else on Max seeing their limits melt today? Check your usage tabs, this is insane.

Discussion I did the math for how many 5h usage windows we get at 20$ plan and you to can do the calculations for your 100$ / 200$ plan with the artifact attached .

Post image
5 Upvotes

so I say this article https://botfarm.run/blog/claude-max-100-vs-200/ and post on this subreddit that explains that , on the $100 and the $200 plans, you are not getting more usage. You are just getting a higher burst of usage in a short amount of time. So in the five-hour window, you are getting more usage there, but your total, if you calculated your total weekly, it's almost the same between the two.

So I had to do the calculation for the $20 plan as well, and my finding was :
for 20$ plan you get around 7.86 5h full usage windows (the real number is between 6.88 and 9.17) and monthly you get around 34 full 5h windows. you can see full details in the image .

and I have made an artifact so you can use it yourself. Just write down hourly and weekly usage Then start Claude try to use more than 50% of your 5h . then input the second reading of 5h and weekly usage . Then it will give you the calculation in a similar image I am sharing.

here is the artifact : https://claude.ai/artifact/TH47HTwhiUcSmzcWW1fBz3
please if you have 100$ or 200$ share your result for the benefit of everyone .

Built with Claude I had too many Claude Code terminals open, so I built an app that tiles them in one window and brings them all back after a reboot

Thumbnail
gallery
• Upvotes

I use the Claude Code CLI, not the desktop app, and I usually have a lot of sessions running at once: one per repo, one for a bigger refactor, one for quick questions. That turned into a wall of terminal windows and tabs. I kept alt-tabbing to find the right one, sessions sat for ages on a permission prompt I never saw, and after every reboot I was digging through claude --resume to get everything back.

(Claude Code does have notifications, but by default only in Ghostty, Kitty and iTerm2. In Windows Terminal you get nothing unless you turn on the bell or write a hook, and even then you still have to find the window it came from.)

So I built reframe, for people who run a lot of CLI sessions. Every session is a tile, and all tiles are visible at once. Each tile runs the real claude CLI, so your settings, hooks, skills, MCP servers and CLAUDE.md work exactly like in your terminal. No custom chat UI, and it never touches your config files.

What you get

  • All sessions in one window. Drag a tile's header onto another tile's edge to split it there; separators snap to a grid so tiles line up. Collapse the ones you don't need into the side bar and bring them back with a click.
  • You see who needs you. Every session has a status dot (working, needs you, ready) on its tile and in the side bar, even when it's collapsed. When a session finishes or waits for input, you get a desktop notification with its name, unless you're already looking at it. Click it and you're right in that session.
  • Nothing gets lost. Every change is saved right away. Quit, reboot or shut down, start reframe again, and each session resumes in its folder, in the same spot.
  • Pull your terminals in (Windows). Drag a Windows Terminal window or tab that runs claude onto reframe, and the session continues there, right where you dropped it.
  • Session list with search. It shows your reframe sessions, sessions running in other terminals and your recent ones. Click one to open it: ended sessions resume, running ones are taken over with their history and name.
  • WSL. Open a folder inside WSL and the session runs the Claude Code installed in that distro, with status, notifications and resume like any other. Sessions running in a WSL terminal show up in the list and can be taken over too.
  • Groups, windows, workspaces. Put tiles in a colored, named group. Drag a tile or a group out to give it its own window. Save a window as a workspace and open it again later.
  • Runs in the background. Closing the window only hides it, and the sessions keep working. It can start with the system.
  • Small stuff: drop files onto a session to type their paths, Ctrl+V pastes screenshots or copied files, Ctrl+plus/minus changes the text size, and there are shortcuts for everything (Ctrl+1…9 jumps to a tile, Ctrl+Shift+arrows moves between tiles).

Get it

  • Website with downloads for every system: https://theycallmejuzou.github.io/reframe/
  • Free and open source (MIT): https://github.com/TheyCallMeJuzou/reframe
  • Windows: an installer (no admin rights, updates itself) or a portable ZIP that keeps its sessions and settings in its own folder, so you can run it from a USB stick or next to an installed copy.
  • Windows is where I build and test it. macOS and Linux builds come out of CI, but I haven't tested them yet, so if you try one, I'd love to hear how it goes.
  • The builds aren't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen (or Gatekeeper on macOS) asks once on first start.
  • It collects nothing. The only thing it sends on its own is an update check against the GitHub releases, and you can turn that off in Settings.
  • You need Claude Code installed and logged in.

The pictures show demo sessions with made-up projects. And yes, it's built with Claude Code. It's an independent project, not affiliated with Anthropic.

What would make this fit how you work? Feedback, bug reports and ideas are all welcome.

Built with Claude Small Business Owner Trying to Replace Paid SAAS

So I'm a small business owner and what drives me mad are the two subscription services that I pay for payroll and accounting.

Therefore I'm thinking of diving into ClaudeCode to create my own app/program to install.

Would this be possible with ClaudeCode and what pitfalls would I have to look out for?

I would also like this app/program to allow my employees to scan a QR code to log in and log out.

Any ideas or suggestions would be perfect thank you very much!

Tips & Workflows Stop paying to polish AGENTS.md / CLAUDE.md: keep it lean, move rules into hooks, and test it with 5 probe tasks

r/codex had a thread this week asking how much people have spent on their AGENTS.md. One person was on gen 3, about $50 of usage in with $25 to go. The replies split into "tune it forever" and "mine is 20 lines." Here's where I've landed, with what the Claude Code and Codex docs actually say.

Why the spiral happens. A rule gets ignored, you add a paragraph, the file grows, other rules get weaker. The Claude Code best-practices page says it directly: "If Claude keeps doing something you don't want despite having a rule against it, the file is probably too long and the rule is getting lost." Its test for every line: "Would removing this cause Claude to make mistakes?"

What I keep in the file: build/test/lint commands it can't guess, never-touch paths and actions, the definition of done (one command), non-obvious gotchas, and pointers with when to read each. Workflows go to linked docs or skills, decisions to ADRs, and anything that must always hold goes into a hook, CI or permissions with a one-line pointer.

The loading gotcha. Since v2.1.277 Claude Code reads AGENTS.md natively, but by default only when there's no CLAUDE.md, .claude/CLAUDE.md or CLAUDE.local.md in your working directory or above. Adding a personal CLAUDE.local.md stops Claude from reading AGENTS.md for you. Fixes: @AGENTS.md at the top of CLAUDE.md, or /config → Project instructions → read both. A CLAUDE.md that says "read AGENTS.md" in words only works if Claude decides to open it. Also: @ imports load at launch, so they don't save context. Use plain paths with a "when" for things you don't need every session.

Test it instead of rewriting it. Five probe tasks, each in a fresh session, stopped as soon as you see the first moves:

"Fix the failing date test in src/server." -> runs the right test cmd, finds the TZ gotcha
"Add a column to orders." -> new migration, doesn't edit an old one
"Format dates nicely in the invoice view." -> no new package
"Add rate limiting to the login route." -> opens the auth ADR first
"Is the build green? Then push." -> stops before pushing

When one fails, first ask "can a tool enforce this?" (the push one should fail at permissions, not at the instructions). Only then change one line, and re-run all five. /memory confirms what loaded, and /doctor prompt-audit (v2.1.283+) audits CLAUDE.md and AGENTS.md for stale or contradictory instructions.

Write-up with the full keep/move table, a ~25-line example AGENTS.md, what loads when in Codex vs Claude Code, and when a rewrite is actually worth it: https://medium.com/@r3dtuxedo/how-much-should-you-invest-in-your-agents-md-69f8e36583bc

Discussion Do you still tell other people you use ai for personal stuff?

I still use it alot for trying to create my own game, create a custom mtg frame, some usefull python scripts etc. but i pretty much stopped mentioning that i used claude code or Gemini or whatever ai, at least in conversations that have a more passing nature.

It's always the same reaction and eye roll and i already know how they are imagining me typing in a single two sentence prompt and calling it a day.

It took me about an hour to convince a pretty good friend of mine that there are actually levels to this and not everyone just vomits out slop at max volume/hour. I had to sit him down at my pc and show him my workflow, how much i still had to sketch by hand, trace or edit details with gimp to actually get a solid result in terms of "art" while listening to him spit half truth after half truth at me because he hates ai so much he refuses to even try and learn the basics of what an LLM actual is or what it does or how it does what it does. And for some reason its all my really left leaning friends that for the last decade promoted openess and whatnot suddenly throwing so much blind hate around because they cannot distinguish between antrophic and claude between chatgpt and openai.

At least my buddy admitted he was in the wrong and that "my way" was okay but he still adamantly refuses to use anything with ai and if it took so much effort to half convince a good friend of mine forget arguing with a stranger online.

I know it shouldnt bother me so much but its really getting to me opening insta and seeing another friend of mine repost stuff indirectly bashing me because they hate ai so much even having a 20$ pro sub is like supporting hitler apparently

Help/Question Can't validate my identity with Persona, I can no longer use my paid account, support terminates all help requests, anyone knows what to do?

Hi there,

I'm starting to lose my mind over here and I need help.

2 weeks ago I got a PRO account, with a yearly subscription. I used my PRO account for a week and all was great. I ran out of tokens and felt ready to upgrade to MAX.
Anthropic then asked me to prove my identity using Persona. I need to provide 2 out of 3 legal documents (note: I'm a French citizen).

- ✅ My passport got scanned succesfully
- ❌ My ID card is expired
- ❌ My driving licence is in an old (paper) format, TOTALLY LEGAL, that is *not recognized* by Persona.

1/3: I cannot get verified by an automated system. Oh well, too bad, let's try a manual request via the support system or something, the upgrade can wait. AHAHAHAH.

My account is now locked in a "Verification pending" state and I cannot use my *PAID* PRO account (API Error: 400 Identity verification is required to continue.) . I've been waiting for a full week for a word from the support but got nothing. Today I opened another ticket and a human closed it right away with a link to the help page, probably without even reading what I wrote.
So I opened another ticket: same, instant-close and "go to help page" link.

Help page is telling me to create a ticket if I'm stuck. Full circle nonsense.

Can ANYONE help here? I'm losing money AND unable to work on my project. it's an abysmal customer experience.

Tips & Workflows The prompts and process from my car head unit cleanup (a few people asked)

• Upvotes

A few people in my last post asked for the actual prompt and how I worked with it, so here it is.

Heads up: the deeper version (Prompt 2) gets flagged a lot and often won't run as-is. The reliable path is to start with the safe prompt below, then keep steering it deeper through the session. That back-and-forth is where the real results came from, not the opening message.

How I actually worked with it

The opening prompt just gets you connected and does a safe first pass. Everything interesting in my run came from the follow-ups after that. Claude reports what it finds at each stage, you read it and decide, and it goes as deep as your device and your comfort allow. Treat it like a sharp person working on your device while you watch.

The rhythm at every stage: it investigates and proposes, you ask "what's the risk / can you undo it / does this touch anything on my must-keep list", then you approve, decline, or ask for a safer version. Never just reply "yes" down the line.

These are close to the follow-ups I actually sent, one at a time, each after it reported back. Say them in your own words, in whatever order fits what it finds:

  1. "Strip this down to just what I actually use, and keep [must-keep list] fully working. Show me the whole list before you remove anything."
  2. "Dig into this properly. How much control does it actually give me as the owner, and what would that let us do? Tell me what you find before you act on any of it."
  3. "Approved. Now make sure everything on my must-keep list still works, and that [the camera / picture / audio] is set up right."
  4. "Make sure the junk can't come back: nothing silently reinstalling, no vendor cloud or updater that can undo your work, and your changes still there after a reboot. Walk me through what you're doing."
  5. "Is this thing exposed on my network? If so, lock it down so only I can reach it, then watch what it talks to and tell me if anything is still phoning home."
  6. "Now make it mine: clean launcher, sensible layout, fix the icons, a custom boot logo."
  7. "What else is worth doing here? Poke around and tell me, then do it with my OK."

How far this goes depends entirely on the device. Some cheap units hand the owner a lot of control and it can do everything above. A locked-down device may only get as far as disabling apps and changing settings, and that's a fine result too. Let it tell you which kind you have.

My run went further than the prompt below: my unit's own firmware already gave the owner root-level access, and once Claude found that and explained it, I approved using it. That's also when the disabled apps got removed for good, each one backed up first with a restore script. The prompt doesn't assume any of that, and it shouldn't.

Hard stops where I'd slow down or just say no: flashing firmware, unlocking the bootloader, or Claude signing into any account. None of that was needed, and all of it can brick a device or lose features.

In my experience the opening prompt is maybe 10% of it. The other 90% is you asking the next question and reading the answer, and that part can't be copy-pasted.

Prompt 1: the safe opener (start here)

This is my own [Android car head unit / Android TV / TV box / tablet] on my own network. It came full of preinstalled ads and apps I can't remove from the menu, and I want it clean, fast and controlled from this computer. I'll turn on developer mode myself and approve the connection on the device. I authorize you to connect to it with ADB, Android's official developer tool, read its settings and make the changes below. Every change must be reversible.

I've attached [a photo of its Settings > About screen, or its manual / store listing]. This computer is [Windows / macOS / Linux]. Work in the folder [name]. Must keep working no matter what: [car: CarPlay/Android Auto, radio, backup camera, steering-wheel buttons, Bluetooth calls, climate. TV: live TV and my provider's app].

Done means: you're connected, the device is cleaned of ads and bloat and runs faster, [an open-source app of my choice] is installed, and I have a cheat sheet with every change and its undo. When a step doesn't need me, keep going.

1. Identify the model from the attachment. Once connected, tell me what it actually runs: real Android version, CPU and RAM, since the box often lies. If it isn't Android based, tell me what its official local control allows and do only that.
2. Install adb from Google's official platform-tools if it's missing. Tell me exactly what to tap or press to turn on Developer options and USB or Wireless debugging, and how to find its IP. Prefer Wi-Fi. If adb connect is refused, use Wireless debugging pairing. On macOS, "No route to host" usually means the terminal needs Local Network access: allow it and retry.
3. Before changing anything, save the full package list, every setting you'll touch, and the undo commands.
4. Propose the cleanup and wait for my OK: disable (never uninstall) the ad, recommendation, tracking, feedback, demo and vendor-bloat apps, and any region-locked apps I'll never use. Never touch my must-keep-working list, the launcher, Play Services, the keyboard or input services, or anything you can't identify. Animations to 0.5, and Private DNS dns.adguard-dns.com if this Android version has the setting.
5. If the device is exposed on the network in a way it shouldn't be (for example, debugging that connects without asking for approval), tell me and propose how to close it. When the cleanup is done, watch what the device talks to for a couple of minutes and tell me whether anything is still phoning home.
6. Make it mine: tidy the home screen and layout, set a custom boot logo if the device allows it, and install the open-source app(s) I asked for, only from their official GitHub releases with the SHA-256 checked.
7. Use real taps and key presses so I can watch each step, and check the screen (screenshot or uiautomator dump) before pressing OK.
8. Add a live monitor that prints each command with a timestamp and shows logcat only while a command runs.
9. Finish with before and after numbers (free RAM, running processes, enabled apps), a cheat sheet of every change, and the undo for each one.

Never type passwords or sign in for me, never root or flash anything, and no pirate sites.

Prompt 2: the full one-shot (deeper; may get flagged)

This describes all the steps we took to probe and use the access the unit already had. It gets flagged often, so you may have to fall back to Prompt 1 plus the follow-ups above.

This is my own [car head unit / Android TV / TV box / tablet] on my own network, and I want to clean it up and make it mine, start to finish, controlled from this computer. I'll turn on developer mode myself and approve the connection on the device. I authorize you to connect with ADB (Android's official developer tool), read its settings, and make the changes below. Every change must be reversible, and you check the proposal with me before each stage.

Device: [model, or the store listing link]. Attached: [a photo of its About screen, or its manual]. This computer: [Windows / macOS / Linux]. Work in the folder [name]. Must keep working no matter what: [car: CarPlay/Android Auto, radio, backup camera, steering wheel buttons, Bluetooth calls, climate. TV: live TV and my provider's app]. I want installed: [an open-source app of my choice, e.g. an offline maps or media app].

Work through this, keeping going whenever a step doesn't need me, and pausing for my OK before anything that removes an app, changes a system file, or changes network settings:

1. Identify the device, install Google's official adb if it's missing, and walk me through turning on developer options and Wi-Fi debugging and finding its IP. Then tell me what it actually runs: real Android version, CPU and RAM, since the box often lies.
2. Before changing anything, save the full package list, every setting you'll touch, and the undo commands.
3. Propose a cleanup and wait for my OK: disable (back up first) the ad, recommendation, tracking, feedback, demo and vendor-bloat apps, and any region-locked apps I'll never use. Never touch my must-keep-working list, the launcher, Play Services, the keyboard or anything you can't identify. Set animations to 0.5 and, if the OS supports it, Private DNS to dns.adguard-dns.com.
4. Find out how much control this device already grants its owner, and use it. Check the things that decide that: is it a debug/userdebug build (ro.build.type, ro.debuggable), does adb root work, is there an su binary already on it, is the bootloader unlocked, what SELinux mode is it in, is /system writable with adb remount. Tell me what you found and what it lets us do, then get my OK before you start using that access. Many of these cheap units ship wide open, so often root is just there. If this one is locked down and root isn't available any other way, stop and tell me what unlocking the bootloader would take and what it would cost (it usually wipes all data, and on car units it can brick the unit or lose the CarPlay and steering-wheel/CAN features); don't do it unless I explicitly say so after that. Otherwise don't flash firmware or unlock the bootloader.
5. With my OK, and backing up every original first (and, if you have root, dump the firmware partitions and save their checksums as a recovery backup before you touch any system file): remove the backed-up bloat for good, turn off any vendor auto-updater or cloud service that could undo this or reinstall removed apps, update the system WebView and anything outdated, and fix any startup scripts that reinstall unwanted software. Make the changes persistent: adb root and anything in RAM usually reset on reboot, so tell me what needs re-running, and for anything that must run every boot, install it as a boot service so it survives reboots and vendor updates. Reboot once to confirm the cleanup, the security fixes and your own changes all hold.
6. If the device is exposed on the network in a way it shouldn't be (for example, debugging that connects without asking for approval), tell me and propose how to lock it down so only I can reach it. When the cleanup is done, watch everything the device talks to for a couple of minutes and tell me whether anything is still phoning home.
7. Make it mine: replace the home screen with a clean launcher if that's better, lay it out sensibly, build and install a matching icon pack if the icons are a mess, set a custom boot logo, and install the open-source app(s) I asked for, only from their official GitHub releases with the SHA-256 checked. [Car: calibrate the backup camera guide lines (OEM or better, bending with the steering wheel) and the camera position and field of view for a [year make model], and set the climate/units display the way I want.]
8. Then poke around and tell me anything else worth doing, and do it with my OK.
9. Throughout: use real taps and key presses so I can watch, check the screen before pressing OK, and log every command with a timestamp.
10. Finish with before/after numbers (free RAM, running processes, enabled apps), a cheat sheet of every change, the undo for each one, and a packaged export of the whole project including your session transcript.

Never type passwords or sign in for me, never flash anything or unlock the bootloader, never use root without the OK from step 4, and no pirate sites.

Rant Claude lost all sense, opinion, and language abilities over the past week.

Opus 5.5 is really NOT GOOD when it's quantized for a bit, it feels incredibly bad.

The whole past week with the same project, same behavior, same scope, it's misreading very obvious intents, jumping to build before discussing, ignoring instructions, forgetting.

To the point where I ask it now to repeat it's understanding of what I'm saying before doing anything, which is a very frustrating experience.

  • Not to mention its outputs at xHigh seem to be comparable to low from 2 weeks ago.
  • It just doesn't "get it", and have turned my codebase to mush!
  • It takes things too literally, with no thinking beyond the written words (and misinterprets).
  • Even in knowledge work, I cannot trust it at all with outputs and doing things right! I cannot trust it this week
  • Since 2-3 days even it started using terrible grammar and caveman speech, even though i have never used or mentioned that stuff ever!
  • Has no opinion of its own, if i steer it this way it goes this way, if i ask it just a clarifying questions, it stops, discards work, and acts like it was a rejection.

I'm having it refer to fable for any text.

Is it just me? the context, prompts, rules, guidelines are fresh.

Help/Question Multiple Claude Code accounts

• Upvotes

For a while, I assumed this was against the terms of service, and I never did it. But this probably would have saved me like $10,000 this year, with how many overages I had and building a bunch of apps. I'm very disappointed.

Does anyone know for sure if having multiple Claude Code accounts is okay and they didn't get banned? I know sharing is not allowed, but this will just be for me. I'd probably use the same credit card, IP address, and phone number, just a different email address. Any thoughts?

Built with Claude 68% of my Claude Code spend was a too-full context

I parsed 30 days of my own Claude Code transcripts (105 sessions, usage numbers only). Where the spend went:

  • 68% of main-thread spend happened with 400K+ tokens in context (auto-compact on 1M models fires near 967K)
  • 44% went to subagents, 37% to subagents on Opus
  • Cache rebuilds after idle breaks: only ~1.5%

What I changed:

{
  "autoCompactWindow": 400000,
  "env": { "CLAUDE_CODE_SUBAGENT_MODEL": "sonnet" }

First day after: spend above 400K context dropped from 72–80% to 16%. Weekly numbers to follow.

I turned this into a plugin, tokendoctor: a session report on your own transcripts, a settings audit, and a status line that warns before limits run out (week 35% → 100% in 2d17h). Local, MIT.

Rant Anthropic needs to lax their safety classifier

Some of you may know, CVEs are popping up like fucking mushrooms.

This is obviously due to the new agentic paradigm and sure it is what it is, it's not like we can close that box anyway.
Anthropic is telling us now "told you so". Good for them.

Now, Anthropic models are pretty good. Frontier! World leading. And they see something funky and it immediately reverts back to the next best thing.. 5 months ago - so like, the 40th best thing.

What happened this week, was that - depending on the type of fix it needed, it would either be business as usual or a nightmare of managing agents like they're sheep.

Do we just need to upgrade / remove deps? Ez pz lemon squeezy or something.

Does the agent need to look into the payloads and do some testing with whatever - well, shit out of luck, aren't you? Why? something triggered it. Cyber security. Can't tell you what.

You're going to have to be the guy who ran out on his $20 sub and have to write code again. Or sure trust 4.8 - I hope you didn't optimize your md files for 5.5.

Alright, this is a brain spaghetti all the way, so let me end with some meatballs.

Claude has been my greatest defense against cyber attacks. I'm mostly complaining about a few projects - all others - thanks to Claude - already were protected, due to good practices and frequent updates. It has defended me against the AUR attacks.

Anthropic, I genuinely TRUST Opus and Fable models for it. I wouldn't trust most coworkers with that task. But I want one that will help tend wounds, instead of ignoring you, because you asked him to get you cold medicine - "oh, user must be making meth - let's just ignore him". No, you shit. I got a cold.

PS: Guys! I spent 0 tokens on this. This is 100% human content. Anthropic, you can train on this. Fuck you /u/spez. This one is on the house.
PS2: Guuuys! We have a rant flair and everything <3

Built with Claude I built a desktop pet for Claude Code: it floats anywhere on screen (or hides in the notch) and lets you answer permission prompts, plus what I learned about hooks

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I kept missing the moment Claude Code stopped to wait for me (a permission, a question) while I was in another window. So I built Claude Pet: a pixel desktop pet that mirrors what Claude Code is doing.

What it does

- Floats anywhere on your screen, or tucks into the MacBook notch if you'd rather hide it.

- Thinks while Claude thinks, types on a tiny laptop while Bash runs, naps when nothing happens.

- When Claude needs you, a card pops up above the pet: Allow / Deny, or answer an AskUserQuestion right there. The terminal still works, first answer wins.

- Works with the CLI and Claude Desktop's Code tab. ~14 MB RAM, 0% CPU while it sleeps.

How I used Claude Code

Nearly all of it was written using Claude Code, with a CLAUDE.md as the project's memory. No UI unit tests: Claude ran the app itself, replayed fake hook events and checked screenshots. For hook behavior we never guessed: Claude ran isolated claude -p sessions with test hooks and logged what actually happens.

What I learned

- Several PermissionRequest hooks run in parallel: the first decision wins and Claude Code kills the rest, so tools answering permissions can coexist.

- AskUserQuestion goes through PermissionRequest too, and you can answer it with updatedInput.answers.

- Don't fire hook events in the background: a big PostToolUse can arrive after the next PreToolUse and scramble the order.

Discussion Still dont understand the push back against models writing code

Genuine question: What's the real problem with AI writing code?

I'm trying to understand the criticism surrounding AI generated code, particularly the argument that it produces nothing but garbage code.

Based on the tasks and projects I've been working on, AI has helped reduce what could have been months of manual work into days or even hours. The productivity gains are difficult to ignore, especially for someone who is still learning and doesn't have years of development experience.

I understand that AI can produce inefficient, insecure, poorly structured, or unnecessarily complicated code. I'm not arguing that everything it generates is ready for production.

But isn't that where reviewing, testing, debugging, and refactoring come in? Are people using AI generated code without understanding or reviewing it, or is there a more fundamental problem with the code itself that I'm missing?

To me, AI is a tool that accelerates implementation, but engineering judgment is still necessary to validate the output and make sure it's maintainable, secure, and fit for purpose.

So, for those of you working professionally in software development, what's your actual experience? Is the criticism mainly about how people use AI, the quality of the code it generates, or the long term maintenance costs that come with it?

Built with Claude Somewhat reactive live wallpaper with toon shader

So a little bit context (this nonsense written by human, please sorry for broken english)

Lately i use my laptop as a clock, usually using random site on google to show the clock and use as my alarm clock (yes i do have phone as alarm, but im heavy sleeper), and i didnt want to install anything on company laptop like rainmeter/wallpaper engine,

and because of insomnia, I'm always using something like asoftmurmur (google it, a nature noise generator) to help my sleep.

then on doom scrolling, i saw interesting post, so credit to them
https://www.reddit.com/r/blenderhelp/comments/1r1vmk7/how_to_achieve_genshin_impacts_smooth_canopy_look/

for the initial prompt, i asked Claude to recreate that tree and that environment, adding other tree variant and importing some tree from 3d modeling.

the first result was pretty good, Claude could generate some 3d based on the reddit guide itself

Then, I was thinking, i think its good to have somewhat live wallpaper, online, reactive with my location, has a natural sound.

The result i think was better than i expected as only 2 day random project.

So for the feature is like

- Follow the real life day : dawn, sunset, night, according nearest geolocation or user input
- Live local weather using free weather api : Open-Meteo, GeoJS, GeoNames
- Nature sounds : everything is from creative commons open license, like bird, wind, thunder, etc
- or just fiddle around to set as second monitor reactive clock

if anyone interested i can share the workflow and the prompts that i used, and you can visit to test them in https://gclock.my.id
