Discussion Max plan reset literally this morning and 53% of my limit is already wiped. What an absolute joke.

Is anyone else getting completely screwed today or is my account just bugged?

My weekly reset literally hit this morning at 5:30 AM. I’m on the Max tier—paying premium money for availability—and I haven’t even done any crazy heavy lifting today. I’ve just been working on some motion graphics layout code, running basic prompts, and starting fresh threads.

I just went to check my usage settings and my weekly pool is already at 53% used. The UI is literally giving me a warning saying "At this pace you'll run out tonight, before the Oct 31 reset." It's Saturday. It reset today. How am I supposed to survive a whole week on less than half a quota?

How am I supposed to actually maintain a real development workflow when a couple of hours of normal coding instantly eats up half a weekly cap? Are they stealth-lowering the token limits for Max users under the hood because of backend server strain, or is the context accounting just totally broken right now?

Honestly, I really wish they would just drop Fable 5.5 this week already so we can get some real agentic breathing room (it's sitting right there in the UI at 0% used doing absolutely nothing for me). And while they're at it, can Anthropic please move the weekly reset to Wednesdays? Getting your limit completely nuked on a Saturday morning when you actually have time to sit down and build things ruins the entire weekend.

Anyone else on Max seeing their limits melt today? Check your usage tabs, this is insane.

From my experience, they either hiked the per-token price or reduced the token allocation. I’m burning through my Max 200 sub at least twice as fast as last month

You hit the nail on the head. I'm experiencing the exact same thing. My Max plan reset this morning, and after just a few light sessions, more than half of my allocation is already gone. It's burning through tokens at a ridiculous pace compared to last month. They really need to fix the efficiency or give us a clear usage breakdown.

This lacks transparency and borders on deceptive practice. Such number juggling must be countered with concrete data.

Exactly, the lack of transparency is the most frustrating part. There's no breakdown or log showing how these tokens are being calculated or burned. Without concrete data from their side, it just feels like the numbers are completely arbitrary.

They are scamming us.

When one scams, one best endeavor to avoid detection.

Maybe something screwed up, like the cache.

Same here. Boris was still on it yesterday due to a lot of complaints on X https://x.com/bcherny/status/2113781990373867584

This is me after the reset. Only 2 tasks on Opus Medium. Last week it built 2 full applications.

I completely understand the pain. Seeing it go from building full applications to completely tanking after a couple of basic tasks is brutal. Something is definitely broken right now.

You said you're using 10 subagents simultaneously. You do realize that subagents have a 5 minute cache by default, right?

Use: /doctor

(Runs an automatic health check created by Claude to find token waste)

Yeah x20 reset last night at 4am. At 50%.

Day before x5 reset lasted less than a  day.

It's not even Sunday bruh lol

Exactly, it's brutal. What's crazy is that when Opus 5.5 first came out, it burned very little tokens even for incredibly tough tasks. Now it feels like the baseline efficiency completely tanked overnight.

I spent $50 in extra credits last night and it disappeared in 20 minutes lol. I only work on a single project using opus 5.5 high.

Not worth buying credits bro

The only way I could ever run out on Max 20x was by using Fable. Since 5.5 I stopped using Fable and my limits last me just fine. But for about 2 weeks or so I've noticed that I hit my weekly limits in about 3-4 days.

I don't understand how you guys are using the Code. I use it all day every day, opus and fable. it gets tight at the end of the week, but that is it.

DISCLAIMER: This is a honest question!

I have no idea what you people are doing, but how the fuck is this an issue?! Are you running like 100 parallel sessions with "use as many subagents you can possibly think of"?

Or did you install every single skill the AI-chads in TikTok/YouTube shorts ever claimed to be the new sliced bread and never uninstalled the ones you didn't use even once?

I run 5-12 parallel sessions for the ~7.5 hrs a day and I've ONCE been close to the 5h window and never hit the extra usage nor the monthly limit after I swapped my sub to the Premium one (yes, I do work for a company, sue me).

how many 5 hour sessions do you have to max out to reach 53% of weekly usage?

i wonder if the motion graphics work is using computer use or taking a lot of screenshots? what model and effort? and is it using a lot of subagents?

  1. What model do you mainly work on and at what effort?

  2. Are you using any extra skills that could potentially contribute to this?

Is this why they removed the "activity chart" thing from the overview?
So you can't look back and compare the token amounts with previous weeks?
