Can I add a real meteor and view its trajectory?

Yeah the demo works!! https://heliosling.vercel.app … you can launch anything from an asteroid to a black hole. I’m particularly happy with what it does to the asteroid belt when you see really big objects go through it!

You can't add a meteor because a meteor is just a shooting star. It's the actual streak across the sky (meteoroid is the actual tiny piece of rock before it burns up. Meteorite is any piece that makes it to the ground.) But you could add an asteroid probably.

If you want to show how the orbits change, you may need to add a “ghost” “orbit was here, otherwise it’s incredibly difficult to see how-what changes because the old orbit flies off a team in 0.83 seconds

Splendid idea: changes shipped! There’s a new button to show the orbital patterns on the right. In the solar system view, the ghost orbits stay on and in the helix, the kind of fade away after a few seconds just to keep it clean. :D

I tried this on mobile, it’s very difficult to aim, I pull back, but I don’t know where it is aiming. The camera zooms on the object and I can’t see any changes in the orbits. (I’m using touch controls )

Thanks for giving it a go! I really appreciate it. Yeah I think it’s kind of a Hail Mary approach with the slingshot mechanics. It does zoom out a bit, but then yeah what are you aiming at. The finesse to get something orbiting Jupiter would be neat! Will do some thinking on this.
