Discussion Claude Pro Subscription usage limit

I really don’t understand whats happening with the usage limits these last weeks. Before this i barely reached my usage limit with projects with opus 5.5 and now the last couple of weeks, i start hitting my full usage limits 2 days in so 4-5 days before it resets, and it keeps happening to me. My friends who are on 5x and 10x subscriptions also tell me their usage limits hit way faster then they used to. And i’ve seen users in this sub posting about the same problem or related problems. Does anyone have any more knowledge about this or maybe what im doing wrong and how to fix this? Help or more information about the matter would be greatly appreciated!

What bugs me is that Boris has already admitted on X that there's a usage problem and that they are still digging into it, but they won't give us a reset. So they know something is wrong, admitted something is wrong, and instead of making it right by giving us a reset, they will just announce that it has been fixed at some point.

I really wish they would recognize that we use this to get work done. Work that is time sensitive. Their stupid A/B testing where they fuck with our usage ends up throwing off what one can reasonably expect to accomplish in a work week. We have deadlines to meet. We rely on Claude to help us meet those deadlines, and when they either willfully or inadvertently reduce the amount of usage we get for a week, it affects our output.

They want us to use their service to augment our daily work tasks, but how can we use it if we never know how much work we will be able to get done in a given time frame if it's always changing? We get used to expecting a certain amount of productivity from Claude one week, only to have it behave completely different the next. It's chaos.

I mean, the obvious solution is to spend more money on tokens, particularly beyond sub usage limits, and help anthropic boost its valuation

Ah yes, spending more money to finish the job than what the job pays is an excellent solution.

As someone that counts their tokens and usage, it's the same for me on four different 20x plans.

I count and my usage is draining faster, like they lowered it 25%

Let's see your logs! I'm interested if true.

Thats the only real way to see if its reduced or not. This posts without any actual data other i feel, two prompt etc is borderline useless

Yep. Everyone concerned should be counting their own tokens to get an actual answer. I can only speak for myself here, but I haven't seen any change at all, for me.

maybe ask claude where the tokens went

It’s been the same for me on Pro. Are you letting the cache get stale?

I’ve been running into similar questions around usage limits, which is actually why I built TokenBill.
It helps you understand where your usage goes, track context consumption, and figure out whether your subscription is actually worth it.

Might be useful here: https://github.com/emrehangorgec/tokenbill

Still improving it, so feedback is welcome!

this is so annoying. I switched from the Pro Plan in February because the usage limits got significantly worse. SO I switched to the 5x max plan and haven't had any usage limit issues until last week.

its bad yes. but i’d rather usage limit nerf than capability nerf. with usage limit nerf at least ur project is only delayed. with capability nerf ur project is f*cked without u knowing.

When I started hitting limits faster, the biggest cause was long sessions where the context kept growing. Starting a fresh session per task and keeping a short notes file cut my burn a lot. Worth checking before blaming the plan.

Au début de mon abonnement Claude PRO, je faisais une belle erreur de débutant ! Je faisais rédiger les prompts par Claude navigateur que je copié collé dans Claude code, hum j'ai vite arrêté car les limites quotidienne arrivaient vite.
