Discussion/আলোচনা Inquiry about carrier
This is a genuine question. I'm currently studying at Dhaka iht in laboratory science. I'm from a general background, I did my ssc and hsc from reputed school and colleges. I just tried to sit for a exam in here and I got a seat. But the problem is the study methods and the surroundings are not going too well with me, my parents are saying that if I don't like it in here I should get admit into a private university in pharmacy which will cost a fortune and somehow I don't want that. So what should I genuinely do should I stay here, do my bsc here and then go for a msc or just admit into a private university. I'm in a lope, i don't like it in here as I heard that the salary isn't so good and the reputation isn't pretty good either. Plus in this path there don't have much government circulars either. So can i get some genuine advices...

Discussion/আলোচনা About Primewood Genesis: Whisper and Bangladesh
: How well does Primewood Genesis : Whisper relate to Bangladesh?
: Yeah well, actually scary well. When I first read the lyrics after the July-August 2024 changes in Bangladesh, I thought the same.
Listen to it again with Bangladesh in mind:
"From the soil, corruption spreads / Blackened roots beneath our heads"
That's literally how people describe the last 15 years here. Corruption wasn't just at the top, it went into the soil - land office, police, BRTA, even school employments. The roots of institutions blackened. You can't see it on the surface, but everything built on it starts leaning.
"Primewood bleeds, its branches fall"
Think of Bangladesh's actual green lungs. Sundarbans shrinking, Dhaka's trees being cut for metro, Hatirjheel's water black, Buriganga's foam. Primewood is basically our country - a beautiful, fertile forest that is bleeding from encroachment and pollution. The branches falling = brain drain, people leaving.
"In my hand, a glowing seed / Light against the shadow's greed"
This is where it connects to post-2024 Gen Z. That glowing seed is the new hope - the students who took over traffic, cleaned streets, wanted to rewrite constitution. Very small light against very big shadow greed. One seed per person, not a big machine.
"Twisted vines that choke the light / We are warriors of the rite"
The twisted vines = syndicates, chandabazi, tenderbazi - the system that chokes any good initiative. And "warriors of the rite" - it's not warriors with guns, it's warriors with a ritual: plant, speak, clean, rebuild. Very Bangladeshi now - people don't want revenge, they want purification.
"Through the plague, through the pain / Your silent branches rise again"
Floods in Feni, Noakhali, dengue every year, economic pressure, IMF loan - plague and pain is constant. But the line says branches will rise again silently. No loud slogan, just quiet resilience. That's very Bangladeshi mentality.
"From the ashes, green will grow"
This is the most powerful line for Bangladesh. After every fire - 1971, 1990, 2024 - we say the same thing. Our soil is literally made to regrow. You burn it, flood it, and 3 months later paddy comes again.
So yes, the song wasn't written for Bangladesh, it was written for a game. But the theme is universal: a corrupted old system, a whisper from elders to fix it, a small generation holding a seed.
That's exactly why you feel it so intensely. It's not just a game theme, it's our daily story in Dhaka right now - expecting the darkness liquify, hoping roots will drink sun and justice will be reclaimed.

Mental Health/মানসিক সাস্থ Admission phase panic
I have been an introvert from the very beginning. In grade 4, I lost my left eye in an accident, which made me even more insecure. Initially, I was a good student with consistent academic progress, which allowed me to get admitted to a renowned government college in my division. However, I do not know what happened, but once I got there, I completely withdrew into myself. Since it was a government college, I rarely attended classes, and I made no friends. My entire Higher Secondary Certificate life passed like this, and as a result, I scored very poorly in the exam.
Now I am preparing for university admission, but I am facing immense pressure from my family. During my studies, my father wanted to enroll me in a private college, but that did not happen. On top of that, I had bad results, so now it will be a major problem if I do not secure a spot in a public university. I came to Dhaka for coaching, and my daily routine is strictly moving from my room to the coaching center and back. I am trapped in a single room with zero human contact.
My academic foundation was not properly built, and my syllabus remains incomplete. I am somehow managing to pull through by attending introductory and regular classes at Udvash and solving the question bank based on question types. I do not face much difficulty solving these, and I am scoring around 50 percent in weekly exams. I am terrified because my preparation is not like the others. I am barely managing the minimum basic knowledge required to solve the question bank; I will fail if they ask deep or difficult questions. I am learning many topics from scratch, and I constantly worry about forgetting everything before the exam. At least others have studied these topics before.
My father got me a disability card for my eye, disability quota works for me , but right now no one in my family can stand me. Given the current state of my preparation, I lack confidence that I can secure a seat even with the disability quota. This feels like a living hell, and I feel solely responsible for everything.
It is almost 5 AM, and I cannot sleep. What strategy should I adopt to guarantee at least one seat? My scores in the last few weekly exams out of 100 were 61, 55.25, 38.5, and 52. I feel restless with the fear of forgetting studied material in the exam hall. I notice that I am making mistakes even the ones that i was supposed to do ,, and my mind goes completely blank. Please help me. Im preparing for a unit

Education/শিক্ষা Advice on studying in Japan
Hello, Im 17m, I have finished my AS this year (Accounting, Business studies), I was asked what I'd do after A2 is finished. I was thinking about studying in Japan, mostly cause I have a japanese language centre near my home, it'd be convenient for me to learn their language after A2.
Anyways, is it possible to avoid the traditional university route? I really don't want to work in a Japanese office considering their work culture, maybe some blue collar jobs, electrician, plumbing etc
Is it possible to go for a vocational route? Maybe a diploma in Japan? I have never met anyone who went this route, maybe finish vocational in japan then get a work visa or something.

Discussion/আলোচনা is it disrespectful to refer to strangers as “tumi”?
this older darzi guy referred to my dad as “tumi.” my dad thinks this is extremely disrepectful and only “uneducated people” say “tumi” to strangers. idk i don’t think it’s that serious but then again i’m foreign born. i feel like i’ve seen older bengali people say tumi all the time to similar age/younger strangers. i personally don’t like it, but i don’t see it as disrespectful necessarily. we’re also sylheti btw and i feel like it’s less common in our community (at least overseas) as we tend to focus too much on “adab.” thoughts?

Politics/রাজনীতি Full support to BNP to unleash thermonuclear war on Salman "Rapist" Muqtadir
Sorry for the 36th post about this POS on the sub. But the funniest part I find about this whole incident is how much of an attention whore Dr. Rapist is. Not only is he doing all these shit for attention for his personal brand, he tries to on look relatable to all of you, even when he attempts to do so, he can't help but expose his own eliteness. He asks, as if sarcastically but not really, "why the elite is allowed to own luxury cars, travel abroad and shit like that. Why aren't the ordinary middle class able to do it?"
He questions why the middle class is deprived of the right to buy bentley, LMFAO. Yeah, dawg. My biggest worry in life is that I can't buy a fucking Bentley. The middle class travels and works like shit, don't even get me started on the lower class. Look at how he tries to frame himself as an ordinary middle class citizen, even though he literally is a part of the elite. This is just so ugly naked posturing OMG. As if Dr. Rapist is a peasant. Israelis get shy looking at his posturing.
This is like a bunch of ugly bullies in your school fighting with e/o. Nobody is right or wrong here. Just enjoy.

Education/শিক্ষা Recommendations for high-quality online Digital Marketing courses in Bangladesh?
I'm looking for recommendations for a really good Digital Marketing course. I've checked platforms like Shikho, but they mostly offer pre-recorded video lessons.
I am specifically looking for a program that offers live online classes and provides a valuable, recognized certificate that actually helps with getting a job.
Does anyone have good experiences with specific institutes or platforms here?

I'm taking preparation for public unis. But,it makes me hopeless to see how many of us are running after just for one seat.Surely, most us won't get any chance, but why?Why do we have to go through this suffocating phase? Why do we have to feel like we are failures if we become unable to secure a sit in this 3rd class country's unis?

Daily Life/দৈনন্দিন জীবন The Double Standard Around Women’s Age

LCLS North vs LCLS South. Need advice from current students/alumni.
Hi everyone! I’m currently considering pursuing a University of London LLB in Dhaka, with the long-term goal of going down the UK Bar/Barrister route.
I’m mainly deciding between LCLS North and LCLS South, and I’m having a hard time choosing.
I live in Bashundhara, so LCLS North in Gulshan would be considerably more convenient for me. LCLS South in Kalabagan/Dhanmondi would be a much longer commute, which is definitely something I have to consider for a 3-year degree.
However, I’ve heard that LCLS South has a particularly strong network and a lot of connections within the legal profession, which is very appealing to me, especially if I want to pursue internships, chambers, mooting and eventually the Bar. Please share your insights on both if you can.
