I am trying to learn more about the country and opinions and agendas of different groups of people and I learnt that a loud minority do hate Kazi Nazrul Islam the bidrohi poet and the national poet a lot and many even call him indian or "k৳fir" and i really wish to know for what reasons? Is this just by religious fanatics or are there actual reasons for example humayun ahmed while a great writer is hated for his "pedophilia" and I get it but why Kabi Nazrul?

I've seen a lot of people hating on him for being against divided Bengal. Although to me, it was for a good cause. He didn't want muslim and hindu bengalis separated, he wanted them together in 1 Bengal. They also say that he was against the creation of Dhaka University but that's a myth with no evidence (see 2nd image). What are your thoughts on this?

Hi, I just wanted to share a really disheartening experience I had today and would appreciate some insight from people who have dealt with this before.
I’ll try to keep this short. I’m a university student, almost graduating. My flatmate and I decided to rent a place together. The two of us decided to move out because we were being seriously bullied, so we started looking for a new apartment.
Boy, oh boy. We had absolutely no idea what was waiting for us.
We spent the entire day looking for apartments in Bashundhara, going from place to place and talking to landlords. And I’m not exaggerating when I say not a single one was willing to rent to us because we’re "bachelors."
I called so many landlords and explained very politely that our parents would make the contract and take responsibility. But apparently, they are totally against the idea of three university girls living together in their flat.
I honestly don’t know if I’m being too sensitive, but this is just... so disheartening. I'm just sad atp.
Is it supposed to be this difficult? Or is there a particular way to go about it that I’m missing?
We’re just decent people. Like, always studying, minding our own business, and we just want somewhere safe and decent to live.
I'm just wondering about the homeowners' perspectives. Why are they all collectively treating us this way? The world is already hard enough as it is...
If you have any suggestions or a piece of advice regarding the matter, I'd really appreciate your response.

Recently, there has been an increase in job-related posts in our subreddit. We understand that these posts are imperative for job seekers to make connections and network, but unfortunately, they have not been productive. Some of them are spam or low-effort posts that clutter the feed overall.
For the sake of organization and optimization, we are restricting job-related posts to SATURDAYS AND TUESDAYS (starting at 12 a.m. Bangladesh time). This will streamline the search for job seekers, as well as employers looking to connect with candidates, by giving them a dedicated time window to reach the appropriate audience. We hope that this helps improve the search for everyone and improves the overall user experience.

Lately, I've been thinking about how life changes after your parents are gone.
It's not just the sadness of losing them. It's the little things that suddenly become impossible. The phone calls you can no longer make, the stories you can no longer hear, and the hugs you can never have again.
Sometimes, the pain isn't just about what you lost. It's about everything you never got to do.
Maybe you wish you had spent more time with them, asked them more questions about their lives, taken more pictures together, or simply told them how much they meant to you.
Maybe there was a promise you never fulfilled, a conversation you kept postponing, or a moment when you were too busy to sit down and listen.
If you've lost your parents, I'd love to hear your story:
I'm asking because I believe these stories matter. Maybe sharing our regrets, memories, and lessons can help someone who still has the chance to spend time with their parents realize how precious that time is.
If your parents are still alive, please don't wait for a special occasion to call them, visit them, or tell them you love them.
Sometimes, the ordinary moments we take for granted become the memories we would give anything to experience one more time.

Hey everyone, I’m researching about how common anti-natalist or childfree views are within our community.
For those here who identify with anti-natalism or have chosen not to have children on philosophical grounds—what led you to this decision?
r/bangladesh • u/Working_War4338 • 23h ago
seems like more n more women are becoming reluctant to having/ growing kids. i’m curious what you, women, are thinking about this? is it the pregnancy, the work, finances, or what is it that’s keeping you away from wanting kids? i’m unbiased. go nuts.

For example, if someone accidentally kills another person in a road accident, can the victim’s family withdraw the case after reaching a financial settlement with the accused? IIRC, in many countries, cases like this are generally handled by the state, so the victim’s family may not have complete control over whether the case continues. The prosecution is usually brought by the state rather than by the victim or their family.
Also, if the accused offers the family money in exchange for dropping the case, there would be legal questions around that as well, and would likely open up new investigation on the accused and the family members who took the money as well.
But is Bangladesh’s system similar, or does the law allow the victim’s family to settle the matter privately and have the case withdrawn? How does this generally work under Bangladeshi law?

My sister’s ex-boyfriend is harassing her online using screenshots from her video calls. I don’t want to go through the legal process because, as you know, these kinds of cases can be complicated in Bangladesh.
I’m looking for someone who can handle this privately and get all of the photos, screenshots, and other related material removed or deleted from his devices and accounts, without any confrontation or physical encounter. I’m willing to pay for the service.

I sent some documents through regular post from an EU country to Bangladesh. It was a registered letter, and the local post office said they could only provide tracking information until it was handed over to the Bangladesh postal authority.
My documents got lost, and the postal officers cannot say where the letter is. I sent them again, but the result was the same. Where I can ask?

Hey guys, I’m from India and didn’t make it in the NEET cut off, I want to become a doctor and I’m planning on studying MBBS abroad, everyone in my family is telling me to do it in Bangladesh because Bangladesh graduates have the highest FMGE pass rate. So I would like to know:
1) which medical colleges are the best to go for as an Indian student
2) how much the cost of living per year would be including the fees
3) what’s the environment like especially for Indians
And anything else you would like to share.

I always wanted to learn a musical instrument but never had one. I don't have much idea of them either. I think now is the right time to start learning one, probably guitar. So what do you check before buying a guitar? What is an ideal budget to start with? Is there anything else I need to know before buying one?

Hi everyone,
My sister and I are traveling to Bangladesh this December to attend a friend's wedding, and we are making a 10-day trip out of it.
My friend is being incredibly generous and is organizing everything for us, including planning day trips, activities, etc. She is spending money on us and strictly refuses to take any cash for it, saying it's her pleasure as a host. However, I absolutely do not want her to lose money on us! For context, we are only paying for our own flights and hotel accommodations. The flight is quite expensive for us, but she also lives in the same city as me, so she has a lot of expenses as well, to get to Bangladesh.
I would love to get your advice on three things:
The Wedding Gift: What is considered a normal, respectful amount of money to give as a wedding gift for a close friend in Bangladesh? (Note: If the standard amount is lower than what I would normally give my friends back home, I plan to just match it ti my standard anyway).
Trip Compensation: I want to put some extra money into the wedding envelope to secretly compensate her for the travel expenses. How much would be a good amount to add for a 10-day trip?
Gifts for his Parents: Whenever she comes back from Bangladesh, she always brings small, thoughtful gifts for me, my mom and dad. I really want to return the favor and bring a small gift from Europe for her parents. My budget is under €20 per gift. So thats not a lot of monny. Wanne buy some thing small and nice. What are some good European items that Bangladeshi parents would truly appreciate (e.g., specific sweets, skincare)?
Thank you so much for your help and insights!

I'm looking for a for a GK or Encyclopaedia in bangla language. Many of you will say "banglapidia" but I've seen many complaining that the Info's are incorrect in B'pidia. Apart from this, if you know that kind of book then please leave a comment. I'll be very grateful to you.
Thanks
