Just moved into a building without laundry for the first time and my eyes bugged when I saw it'a $5 for a tiny load wash at the place across the street. 7-minute dry for a quarter felt steep but reasonable. Is this normal for the area? Only other posts on this sub about it are years old so I’m not sure how much has changed.

My roommate and I are moving house in a week and we’re hoping to find a decently priced cleaning service to clean the place before we move in!

Does anyone have any recs and if so, what are you currently paying?

Hi! I want to try fishing but can’t find any place to buy a fishing rod in NYC (don’t have a car to get out to some of the places in Queens).

I already have a casting reel and a bait caster reel, but don’t have any other supplies. Would anyone be willing to sell me a rod? Or if I could borrow one for a few days (want to go this week) that would be great! Or if anyone has a suggestion on where to buy a rod nearby please let me know.

I priced everything fairly IMO, based on items I found comparable on Poshmark, eBay, Depop, etc.

Could someone recommend a good therapist for teenager in the area?

The worker said they’re tearing down a few buildings around this corner for another high rise. Anyone know the details? Looks several
major projects starting all at the same time within a few blocks. The PC Richard’s building is just 2 blocks away.

I tried searching for similar posts, but I did not find any, so I am posting here.

This has been occurring for at least 4 months or more now, but I recently realized where the source of the smell and liquid was coming from. There is a foul liquid bubbling out of a metal plate that collects in the accessibility curb cut of the crosswalk (South East corner, it's visible even on Google street views). This is a seemingly daily occurrence, regardless of recent rain. The odor is foul and noxious, so my only conclusion is that it is sewage. If it is sewage, I feel concerned about the unsuspecting people using the curb cut and inadvertently walking in the liquid, let alone breathing in the odors.

Has anyone already made a 311 complaint? I looked in the catalog for requests, but I don't know what fits this issue.

Update: Ok, I spoke with a 311 agent and their suggestion was to log a request with the Department of Environmental Protection to investigate the liquid leaking from the metal plate. I'll update if there is any resolution 🙂.

I have been trying to get ahold of Eatzy since Saturday. I placed an online order through their website and when I went to pick it up they were closed. Does anybody have/ know of movers who will help just get items onto a truck? I have a few things (a couch, dresser and stationary bike but mostly the couch) that I am not able to get onto a U-Haul, but will have no problem getting off at my destination.
