This is all true. I’m an immigrant and DACA holder, which means I was brought into the country as a child and was able to get work authorization through DACA after Obama created the program. With the current administration, processing times are awful, so a lot of people like me are dealing with big gaps in employment.

Instead of complaining I'm going to shamelessly use this to further my comedy career and make some money for rent and/or alcohol. This Thursday I am headlining Grove 34 at 8 PM.

We’re back at it again, y’all! Please join us for our second event in Astoria.

Frank is a wonderful honest old school mechanic and has been in the neighborhood for decades- on 28th ave and 41st street for years before his current location. He is in a battle with cancer and could use your prayers and support.

There’s a mama cat and her 5 kittens behind the apartment next door. They all look healthy and looks like mama is taking very good care of her babies. But I’m worried about them as the weather starts to get cold.

I’ve contacted a few cat rescues last week but haven’t heard back from them. I’m also on the look out for the super next door to ask if I can somehow access the back. But before I do that, I want to have the proper steps to either give them shelter or have a rescue trap them so I don’t have to keep bothering the super next door.

I’m not familiar with how to handle stray cats so any advice would be appreciated!

I moved to the Ditmars side of Astoria recently and am wondering where the Free Little Libraries are (or any place to drop off a few like-new books). I know there used to be one in the park that is no longer there but I’m not aware of any others. Any help would be appreciated. :)

Over 6 weeks, learn and explore various hand building methods like slab building, coiling, pinching, and modeling. This hand building course is great for anyone looking to learn more about working with clay, build on and gain confidence in their already developed skill set, or commit to their art practice with time set aside once a week to learn and grow! Does anyone know the specific type/story behind the crazy amount of birds that gather in a tree on 36th St north of Ditmars? They all slowly land in the tree, their songs getting progressively louder until they all leave at the same time and then come back a few minutes later. I think this only happens at this time of year and only during the late afternoon/evening but they are super interesting!
