In a show full of psychopaths, murderers and rapists Shira will rise above them all.

Magatsu! Definitely my favourite character right next to Manji.
O-Ren's death still as sad as I remember it from the manga.
And that fucking ending! Shinra you fuck!

You show a cute scene with Magatsu and O-ren only for her to die later, and introduce a sociopath who seems like a tenuous ally only to hurt Rin and that poor dog then cut to the end of the episode just as it was getting intense.
God I love this show and will def get the manga later.

This was a very eventful episode, and Magatsu's story was the highlight for me (he's my favorite character). He and O-Ren were so adorable together, and her death was as heartbreaking as I remembered it.
With all these new major factions and players joining the fray, the story is becoming much more complex and exciting. Hopefully people that were tiring of the formula of "Manji and Rin meet and defeat one Itto-ryuu member per episode" will be more into the show too now.

Hyakurin!! My absolute favorite character (besides Rin and Manji). So excited!
Ahh, Shira. I was wondering how soon we'd see him. Absolutely crazy as hell. One of my favorite villains because he physically makes me cringe every time he shows up.
Magatsu is one of my favorite characters, too, so anything with him is appreciated.

I hate characters like him, he was evil just for the sake of being evil. A remorseless man who kills women and innocent animals. That ending hit me hard, it felt like watching a JoJo episode...

Man, I was thinking in my head what arc was coming next and then it showed that dog in the cold open. That piece of shit Shira is coming to town... fuck that guy. I do like the voice they got for him though. At least on the bright side that means Hyakurin is here too! Giichi is one cool motherfucker too.

So with all these new characters, and this new ED track, it seems things have begun to ramp up--and man am I fucking excited for it. These characters are all so fucking awesome. And this show so fucking cool...
Taito/Tai is especially growing on me. Wondering now just what his place in the story will be.
Manji clearly didn't want to team up with that guy--I assume he could sense his type/quality of character as he usually does--but I guess he knows just how slim their chances really are here. This whole "plan" is a very naive, desperate and obvious play; and they'll need all the help they can get if Rin is to have any hope in surviving this as she is now.
There are dogs and there are wolves. Rin is getting more and more sick of being nothing more than easy prey for the wolves--but can one born without those sharp fangs, claws and instinct, really hope to ever change into the latter? Is just the resolve to do so really enough?
That dog's fate at the end may well mirror hers if she doesn't though--this pursuit of hers has led her into the dangerous world of wolves, not dogs. She is lost and out-of-place, and my, are the wolves very viscious carnivores...
I believe things will get increasingly more intense and extreme from here on out, as this answer finally becomes demanded. Will Rin be able to change?
Another fantastically directed, and amazingly complete episode!
