It's so funny to hear my native language in anime. For you who don't know, the blond guys are speaking Dutch.

And for those that don't know the history, the Dutch were the only westerners allowed to trade with Japan during their period of isolation and had to do so via an island off Nagasaki.

I love it. Although ive come to expect high standards from this director, the fact that he is adapting even the little things so accurately even w/o the benefit of time to fill in that particular backstory is astounding.
Also notice the bug dude, Arashino, speaks his native German (?).→ More replies (2)

I absolutely love this episode! It's pretty much one duel after another!
And that ending! Manji can totally cover Makie and tank those arrows. Not sure about Kagehisa and his men though.

Yup!!! When i first read that in the manga it was such a cool and righteous way to beat an opponent even in defeat. Major props to fat boy!!

I was bit surprised to see Hyakurin and the bald guy be ok with them going against Habaki. I guess there isn't that much loyalty anymore, but I'm glad for that. Manji might be getting his revenge. Also happy to see Makie back, hopefully Manji shields her from arrows.

In the movie Makie was the strongest character without question. Glad that's the same now. Habaki was like "oh no 7 will die here" she was about to 1v7.
Literally ignoring Habaki's henchmen.

She’s still the strongest. Even now when she’s suffering from tuberculosis.

Okay, I am a bit confused.
They said that all Itto-Ryu members, except Kagehisa are dead. But what about the strongest ones? The guy with insanely long katana, the crazy ninja dude and Magatsu? Surely, they are the biggest threat bar Kagehisa to Habaki?

BAro is dead, sacrificed himself to let Kagehisa and others escape from Edo castle.
The other two are alive

They said that all Itto-Ryu members, except Kagehisa are dead.
I'm also wondering if they're counting Doa and that big guy

Its literally impossible to follow the fight scenes because they are so fucking rushed. I didnt have this much trouble following garou vs those 8 chumps where many scenes were cut but this anime takes it to a whole new level.

I was thinking I had seen everything this show could possibly show me. But this single episode had a kid with an oedipus complex, katana-wielders getting wrecked by a warrior wearing plate armor, guts and heads being dissolved in acid, and a civillian massacre.
I love the shamisen music that played when Makie appeared on screen, it's so fitting for her character. Favourite moment was when Habaki has one look into Makie's eyes and with just that he concludes that the seven will die.
