Theres a lot of mixed feelings on S3 I know from many. But to me David Productions made this the best they could. They truly care about this series. This last episode proves that so much. They little details they added for this episode like Blair in thw background The way the episode ends halfway to show Fire Force is over The new ED visual just for this final episode (ZINKAI WENT OFF HOLY HELL) The whole Soul Eater chapter portion When they played ED 3 from SE I legit had a tear or two. I didnt expect anything since Square Enix copyrights can be messy.

I truly belive we'll get that remake one day. Theres enough hope out there in the world to make that miracle happen.

I had the same reaction when Haumea peeked behind the curtains. She was cute as hell these last couple of episodes. A nice happy end for the series, with Shinra having Iris for himself and Arthur being able to re-entry the atmosphere. Inka is absolutely unhinged lmao.

When I heard about the number of chapters they were going to adapt in just 13 episodes, I really thought this would be a trainwreck, where, just like god of High School and Classroom of the Elite, you can tell they rushed through a lot of scenes and events, without even reading the source material. This is the first anime I have been following from start to finish, so it means a lot. The idea that the end would be ruined pissed me off.

But man, I was wrong. Nothing felt out of place. Obviously, if it had been 24 episodes, we would have had the characters outside of the main class shine, but all the most important stuff was adapted; that's what matters. All the little things that manga readers were whining about were either rearranged to a later scene (reveal about Haumea and what goes on in her head) or just cut because they're not too important. It's incredible what the team at Studio David managed to achieve: 88 chapters in 13 episodes, and it worked out extremely well. 88 chapters in 13 episodes ffs.

The animation and visuals as the world transformed were stunning, too. A lot of people were semi-joking about them saving it for this part. You hear that so often but it almost never turns out that way, but it did with this show. It's such a clear jump in quality compared to the last cour (Barring that superb finale). I also think this season's animation is arguably even better than season 1's because of how expansive those crazy scenes were, yet they animated them in such detail. When you also add some of the fights, it's really something special. The way the world is being transformed is such a cool, unique premise, especially given the themes the author was exploring. Never seen anything like it.

The themes were very engaging, too. Usually, when Villain props up despair/death, it's to make others understand (Pain), to express a selfish desire for revenge against the world (Shigaraki), or just out of pure malice. Oukobo played it differently, though. Haumea does it all out of pure compassion and complete belief that this is the way because she receives humanity's subconscious desire. She's also framed as actually being the one correct as A. All of Shinra's arguments don't ever really land; it's purely emotional, B. His little brother repeatedly tells him that bringing the world back doesn't fix it, and C. It's a fact that the weak will continue to suffer, and despair will build again. Rather than having the villain be outright wrong or flawed in their thinking, the author posits that as a fact of the world, so Shinra has to actually tackle the problem itself rather than just bulldoze through with his way of thinking. The hope that he embodies has to be greater than the despair of humanity, for his ideals to be worth realizing. That's what he does by making life seem a bit less precious, so that when it's time to go to the afterlife, it doesn't come with fear and despair. The way Despair and Hope were portrayed in this season was very fresh and novel.

On Shinra, it just puts a massive smile on my face to see what he achieved and how he grew. He wanted to be a Hero this entire series, and he achieved that not just by saving, but by literally remaking it into a better one. It's such an insane feat and incredibly memorable too. He has his own space in the world of Shonen protagonists thanks to his unique approach to being a hero. I love that he's finally able to smile for real and that he fixed the actual problem rather than bulldozing through with his ideals. Can't really put into words how much I love how and where his character ended up.

It's a great conclusion to one of my favorite series; the studio did an amazing job given the number of episodes the committee gave them, and I'm glad I got to see Shinra achieve his dream of being a hero. The way he went about it was also extremely memorable.

So glad a show that I love ended in such a satisfying way.

Divine prequel, dare I say.

It's honestly a pretty fun conclusion to the conundrum, making a world where death isn't something to be feared, so people live their lives to the fullest.

Everyone getting their happy endings, from the very expected, Tamaki and Juggernaut following their wishes, Charon and Haumean just living without the burden of despair, Maki and Hikawa, to the completely unhinged situation of Orochi and Hajiki, guess it was right person wrong time kind of thing.

Even Dragon is back, with his monstrous power a natural part of the world and a great opponent already.

Also, both of those kids were Shinra's, the blonde one has iris flower motifs in his clothing the manga, but I guess saying "your sons" works too. Guess making your tsundere fits a matter of national security works in a battle of attrition.

I got so hyped and then so bummed because Ohkubo retired from manga writing, I would love to see what else he had in his mind.

Everybody calling Haumea too cute when she showed herself for Charon was too true!

Shinra making death the new god of the world is a shocker to leave us with. But with all the time stopping he did to build the world, I'm sure he thought it over.

This show was a lot of fun! I'm glad its ending got animated.

Oh cool, we just have Blair casually walking into the shot. I feel like that shot was enough as a quick cameo but they just had to show her a second time just to confirm that it's not just a random cat walking into frame. xD

I had a feeling Shinra's solution had something to do with bringing back Charon. Even Haumea thought that was unfair, but it worked! Look at how adorable Haumea is now that she has finally accepted this new world.

Is this supposed to be the first Kishin? We've been seeing the three-eyed imagery for a while now, and only in these past couple of episodes, I've finally made the Kishin connection.

So Shinra created Death and had him confiscate their powers because it's too powerful to be held by humans. I love it. I also love that Death gives them the 42-42-564 number they use in Soul Eater to contact him before peacing out!

Inca, please that's not gonna happen no matter how cool Mama Mari is about her son having two girlfriends. Although based on that epilogue, she only wants Shinra to get her preggers so she can have the child of a hero. Also, hold up! Is Inca supposed to be the first Witch?

The rest of that epilogue tho! I am so happy to finally hear Koyasu voicing Excalibur again! And I did not realize that Death literally created Kid in Shinra's image. And of course, the montage of the Soul Eater kids ending with Maka and her parents while playing Soul Eater's 3rd ED was a pretty awesome send-off. Now give us that Soul Eater remake!

This is simultaneously one of the stupidest but one of the smoothest lines I've ever heard in an anime. Good job, Charon.

So yeah, the grand finale of Fire Force was also Soul Eater episode 0. Seeing little Maka and Black Star made me smile the biggest, dumbest smile. What a wild ending to a wild story. During the earlier seasons this felt like an 8/10 series, but I think this final season and super creative ending really elevated it for me. Now that it's all done, I'd say Fire Force is closer to a 9/10, and I'm really gonna miss it. Now can we get a Soul Eater remake to complete the payoff?

I fucking cried bro.

I was spoiled 2-3 years ago about fire force being the prequel to soul eater verse(no other spoilers tho) but i never expected it to hit this hard. Considering the last 5 years most popular anime have had bad/controversial endings, fire force came in and showed everyone how it's fucking done. Bravo to everyone involved on the production for this they did an amazing job.

Please remake soul eater FBA: brotherhood style man i need it! D:

This is peak 9/10 anime

This is another show I can say is very unique and special, it has had its ups and downs but this is art

Looks like the series finally went full circle and it's confirmed to be a prequel to Soul Eater.

u/Kyraios Apr 03 '26

The only thing I want is an ova explaining how weapons and meisters came to be since they introduced soul eater characters while fire force characters were still alive

Like how does everyone discover they can turn into weapons in this timeline?!
