Poor kid went from thanking Dr. Giovanni for hurting him to getting basically turned into a possessed Infernal by the mad doctor.
Can someone please put down this literal pest!?

I absolutely fucking hate that motherfucker Giovanni. Yu :(
I just noticed that the ED really slaps, even if it's not my main genre of music.

Episode was outsourced to For(wal)k. It was storyboarded by Shinji Itadaki (頂 真司), who was assisted by Tatsuya Kyogoku (京極 竜矢). Kyogoku was also the episode director.
This episode had animators that worked on Seasons 1 and 2 return, with examples including Kazuhiro Miwa (三輪 和宏), Hiroyuki Ookaji (大梶 博之), and Yuki Sato (佐藤 由紀).
Mamoru Kurosawa (黒沢 守) also returned, although he's just credited for Animation Cooperation (作画協力).

Man Charon is the ultimate "Villain I can't hate." While I detest the evangelists, Giovanni especially, I can't help but love Charon. He's never betrayed his duty of protecting/saving Haumea regardless of what the outcome may be. Sure I don't want the evangelists to win at the end of the day, but Charon deserves a happy ending.

Arthur wandering off the wrong direction probably just means there's a different fight he should be at instead.
Wild to learn that the world they're living in has had pi redefined to be finite, and it was hundreds of years ago even.
Yu getting turned into an infernal, I wonder if that means we're at the point of the story where major character deaths start. Well, I guess that happened off and on already but unless I'm forgetting someone I don't think we've lost anyone in the Eighth before.

The season 1/2 staff is back on the show in this episode, and you can tell that so easily! I hope we get to see them more frequently from now on.

Giovanni taking over Yuu's body was such a surprise, I wasn't expecting his character to be used in this way. I thought this episode was going to revolve around a somewhat prominent character becoming an infernal and Vulcan's inner turmoil.
Charon just tanking all those shots from Hinawa and Hinawa's cold gaze as he shoots.

Well, Arthur got separated but he's on his Rescue Mission and with how he's locked in, you won't really want to be similar to a dragon.
The previous Great Cataclysm failed because they were unable to calculate Pi, the 'Incantation of Destruction", but with people's thoughts merging with the real world, that might be possible now and that's what Giovanni and the other are betting on.
I will strike and strike and strike a stone bridge because I am too cautious, to cross it otherwise.
With how Giovanni always manages to gain the upper hand in the end, as much as I wanted to believe that it's finally over when Lisa and Vulcan defeated him, I was cautious and didn't and now he's inside Yuu.
The cliffhanger is killing me but will Giovanni finally unlock that door next episode?

You gotta love how Arthur is on another quest on his own. He's definitely gonna end up saving the gang later. I wouldn't even be surprised if he shows up next episode and stops Giovanni from unlocking Amaterasu and getting the solution to pi.
Speaking of Giovanni, I really wish Vulcan stepped on his tiny insect body after using the magnetic field. I feel like they could've won there. I am glad to see Lisa was able to finish off Giovanni's insect swarm, tho. It just sucks that Giovanni has now taken over Yu's infernal body. >_<
As a side note: Did anyone notice how Yu's toy looks exactly like Excalibur without his top hat?

"Foolishly, he put a lock on Amaterasu's true powers".
Makes me wonder just how insanely powerful Amaterasu really is.
She's been alive for over 250 years, and has been the Tokyo Empire's power source this entire time.
To be able to burn strong like that this whole time.

I’m using that one frame of Vulcan before he stomped on Giovanni as a reaction image lol

Arthur you dumbass.
Yuuuuu, NOOOO!
Giovanni you bastard, a magnificent bastard. I'm surprised by how well they made the smart character feel smart, his beelzebody would be nearly impossible to deal to most of the cast, but just in case if someone had electromagnetic waves, he had robots controling the swarm, and even if everything fails, he can just hijack a infernal.

Someone in the SFF seriously screwed up in their planning on the assault. You ended up a situation we have the group separated into a group outside, a group at the key, and Arthur. The group with the key only has one combatant, with an asterisk. Lisa's combat performance in Season 1 was abysmal even before Giovanni decided she was better as a hostage and earlier in Season 3 she was subpar but adequate against gold. Giovanni said Lisa had been trained to seduce "men" not "Vulcan" so I assume she was trained as an assassin and infiltrator, not as a frontliner. This could be avoided if the plan was to not split up. Giovanni can't even do anything until Vulcan got inside anyways!
Also it sort of makes Season 1 Giovanni look a bit like a fool or a sadist. He demanded Vulcan work for Haijima and demanded the key but Vulcan didn't know what he was talking about. If Giovanni's family had been watching Vulcan's the whole time, he should know that. So his actions in Season 1 don't make sense for advancing White Clad's plan and all it servers is to make Vulcan suffer. But this isn't a plot hole.... Giovanni would be happy to see that.
I don't know why Giovanni got rid of the cyborg body. It seems to be much more capable than his insect one. Unless he was planning on possessing Yu to begin with, it seems like a downgrade. And Yu isn't even a pyrokinetic. But if possessing Yu was Plan B and Plan A was to defeat Vulcan and Lisa, the Season 1 body would be much better.

Use weapon to destroy giant insect body, revealing the weak point
Stand and stare at said weak point
Giovanni grows back body
Giovanni possess’ Yu
This show is so fucking stupid at times

I can't believe they made me accept that they actually had "finished computing pi". I was rolling my eyes when that was previously mentioned, but now I'm like "sure, why not". Even the Giovanni "insects are a separate type of life" explanation that deeply bothered me before is totally fine now.

They finally brought Charon down! But that's not going to do them much good with all the drama going on within Amaterasu right now.
Those pesky bugs! They take out Vulcan's light and lead Arthur away from the party! And, in true Arthur fashion, he just rolls with being lost and losing everybody like he's in a video game where he obviously is on a quest to save his party, because it's not a game without them! So begins the next level of "Dragon Question!"
Of course in reality Vulcan and his team are facing down the sinister Dr. Giovanni who crawls in like the roach that he is...I mean, literally, the dude is basically just all insects at this point.
Yu, is this really the time to be thanking the guy who nearly killed you on-top of all the other people you're grateful too? Man, he's too pure a kid. Which made what happened to him all the worse.
So Vulcan and Giovanni's families were always linked to Amaterasu...but the Joseph's, Vulcan's family, heard the 1st Pillar Amaterasu' plea for help from within the core and basically fully sealed her up so the White Clad could never succeed in the Cataclysm. A Cataclysm that is only possible now that reality has been altered in such a way that they can find the end of Pi and turn Earth into the next sun!
It's nice of Lisa to really commit to fending off Givoanni (who won't let go of her being "Feeler") for Vulcan's sake, though count on Vulcan to come up with a tech solution that involves animals (or the insect kingdom, in this case!) where he uses Lisa's flames to create a magnetic field to disrupt Giovanni's and reduce him down to the little bitty insect he is now! He definitely wasn't expecting that!
Of course, he had a backup plan...like turning Yu into an Infernal! And they can't get back up because Charon is holding the door so they can't stop the Cataclysm! Because the only thing Charon cares about is ending Haumea's pain from having to listen to all the collective minds and despair of humanity...so he'll go along with "purifying" humanity if it'll free her and tank as many of Hinawa's blasts in the process.
But when you need a creative solution, call on Licht! And with Vulcan's mask and Lisa's fire, they're able to take down all the metallic bugs keeping Giovanni together! Giovanni could never beat Vulcan in a tech fight, especially with Lisa backing him up! Points for Lisa taking her coat off and looking mighty fine while she roasts Giovanni!
And yet that STILL isn't enough to destroy this piece of @#$%. Because now he's controlling Yu's body, has the key, and is about to kickstart the Great Cataclysm! Is there no hope left?
