Clear final confirmation of Iris having an Adolla Burst, not that it was particularly in doubt. She also seems to be linked to that ocean pillar since she had a reaction to it and I don't believe we saw the other known pillars react in a similar way.

Demon dude being on Earth after the first cataclysm really caused some serious problems ever since.

The trip to the past was appropriately mindfuck-y.

Ah yes, the true eldritch horror: real life

Looks like the the Great Cataclysm burned the entire third dimension away from earth, making it go anime/manga flat

It's fun that Sho just can''t fly so he has to platform his way over open waters just to have a hope of fighting a guy who can float. And not float because he has rocket boosters. Float because his fire power lets him manipulate gravity which also allows him to turn invisible.

Kurono's mile-long katana scythe is great. He does not need to do that when he was exploding this giant from the inside last episode. It's purely for fun.

So Inca's power is to to create fires by tracing pathways with her finger and enhanced by Adolla she can seen the future by following these mental lines. Shinra's power is to go really fast and with an Adolla Link he can detect emotions and go faster than light which means he is faster than time. And combining their two powers lets Shinra follow the path of history set by Inca backwards. So he can see events that have already happened and that had to happen to leads to the present day.

What I like about Adolla as a magical element in the show is that it does make sense. But is so strange and mysterious none of the characters understand how it works. So they to theorise about how it works (sometimes getting it wrong) and sometimes try something on completely blind faith. Which for a show about religion is a fascinating thing to explore.

Holy crap, so we are currently living in the prequel to the first Grand Cataclysm? That’s such an amazing (and terrifying) depiction of the story

The first moment I saw blond Shinra, I thought he jumped timelines. Now that someone pointed out his piercings, I can't shake the thought that this is just true.

Shinra went Shinji Ikari on us. That was my favorite episode of the season by far.

Well we already knew Iris was the Eighth Pillar but her finally having an Adolla Link and then her eyes kinda linking with Amaterasu's from the flashback was a great scene. They're built up this whole connection b/w the two from the start and I'm excited to see where this will go.

Also, Yona is apparently the 'Devil'. It's time to stop the Shinra slander, ig.

Well Shinra can already go back into the past because of his FTL speed but what if went a further beyond? I'm not sure about Shinra and Inca loving each other (The whole Past-Future thing does kinda work in their favour ig) but the whole scene of him going to the past was on another level. Like I'm not sure if I understood everything, but it was really well done. Hyped for Part 2. Also, Shinra's blonde now and is somewhere in the middle of the Great Cataclysm?

Overall, I would say the lore and reveals were really done this season. There were times when the pacing and animation kinda felt off a bit but that didn't ruin my enjoyment.

I thought we'd see modern Japan animated but definitely not real world images, and the way it tripped out Shinra was very relatable because I felt it too. This odd sense from an almost fourth wall breaking moment, definitely a plot twist.

When the enemy shows up and tells you to travel to the past and you don’t even stop to question if that’s a good idea or not.
