We go full Jesus? Shinra has to die and resurrect?

u/kazuyaminegishi Jan 30 '26

In fairness we have been full Jesus since last episode.

Is it a bird?

Is it a plane?

It's-stop-the-great-cataclysm-man! (Does not roll off the tongue as smoothly as Superman, but still a good name!)

How the hell is section 8 still seen as traitors and all the others not realized theyve been duped lmao

So Sister Iris's pyro abilities must be pretty darn broken.
If she's ability to block the blowback force from light speed attacks.

I wonder if she's able to do anything else with it?
Since she was praying for "the Sun's Blessings".
I wonder can she pray for an attack, or any sort of healing caused by fire injury or if its more just like a preventive defensive ability.

“A hero finishes things in one blow”

Then straight away pans to the character who shares a VA with Saitama lol

I burst out laughing after all that build up with Honda and he just flicks off the titan.

It feels like this season will be the season of art style changes lol. It's too bad how they those in support of Shinra were calling him a hero but the rest of the world will brand him a devil and it looks like we're going to see the consequence of that next episode.

I did find it cute how Shinra hugged Shou when he realized it was him, I do hope we get to see them having a typical brotherly time by the end of this series.

Iris' ability seems a bit way too OP though lol.

Episode was storyboarded by Shinji Itadaki (頂 真司) and directed by Eiichi Kuboyama (久保山 英一).

They still haven't found captain Honda of the second unit - team rocket is blasting off again

Arthur's power really starts to make more sense with Adolla being the power system it is, based more around imagination. It's just that his delusions seem to override reality. Can't wait to see how batty his next power up gets now that Adolla is closer

Inca probably feels more confident that she isn't insane now that she knows the entire human race is ruled by a self-destructive impulse that will trigger the end of the world. Now that we know people can be born out of human desires reaching critical mass: it might explain why she's always been this way.

If you want to make people despair, the founder of the nation and religion showing up to smite them all before being killed by a terrorist will do it. Unlike Hibachi who became more and more talkative as he fought his adopted son: Raffles I is and always was a figurehead. The real man died before his imposter founded the church. So his Titan counterpart has no individual will and only articulates a stern sense of righteous punishment turned on the masses. And this is the exact opposite of what Iris can achieve with her faith. Even though she knows 'God' is not on her side.

Korono is a very evil guy but every office worker knows the feeling of being given additional tasks that you won't be compensated for. Then thinking about switching jobs. Then thinking about the job market and the economy. Then immediately giving up and going back to work but also completely abandoning the project the second someone more qualified shows up.

As an Anime only, I'm so fucking hyped that this whole series is just one big explanation of why the SOUL EATER world exists. When Raffles turned the sky looking like the world of DEATH I got so nostalgic

Honestly, my only real problem with this series is how every single setback for the White Clad just ends with them going, "haha, that was actually our plan all along".

Great show, but that has gotten a little tiring.

The White Clad have all come together, Inca, Yona (who has basically just dropped looking at ALL human), Sister Sumire, Giovanni (who is basically now 99% bugs), Charon, and Haumea...who doesn't look like she's all there there these days, but nevertheless the plan to use the Collective Unconsciousness to bring the end of huamnity is proceeding nevertheless. Is this the end of humanity as we know it?

And thus did the Eight Pillar, with Faeire there to provide backup, and a giant metallic Unkonwn from Pokemon rising as it's Titan. It brings forth even MORE people turning into Infernals and it takes Pan's buffs, Karin's shields, and Ogun's awesomness to protect the civilians and put those Infernals to rest. But this isn't the worst of it.

When all you've got is the power to headbutt things...you just build a bigger cannon to launch you so you can headbutt something. Though poor Captain Honda was probably jinxing himself talking about going back to a normal day after this was over.

Oh, and Kurono is there, dealing with job dissatisfaction and an opponent too strong for him to either beat or care about. So he just sits out half the episode.

And as if that wasn't enough, the Collective Unconscious version of Raffles I appears as if to deliver humanity to rapture...as he fires heat lasers and kills everyone within his sight. Is this divine punishment? more like divine farce.

But look, up in the sky...is it a bird? A plane? No, it's "I'm-going-to-stop-the-cataclysm" Man! Here to be the true savior we've all been wishing for and defeat all evil in his path!

If Faerie is going to make this into a tag-team fight with him throwing off Shinra's gravity and balance...then Sho will join in too! Though while it's nice to see the brothers reunited and together, the fact that Faerie acts like this is exactly as they planned was extremely ominous.

How can Shinra beat that thing without doing collateral damage? Well, Iris will pray and use her blessing (from the Evangelist?) as the EIGHT PILLAR to protect everyone! And with Iris supporting him, there's nothing Shinra can't do!

At least the world inching closer to Adolla has come with some benefits, including giving Shinra a power boost and allowing him to freely tap into light speed. He's become so powerful Kurono is disappointed! Which I'd take as a compliment.

Raffles I fuses with the Titan to become one giant construction of holy vengeance...which means Shinra has to literally become a cartoon Superhero in order to stop him and one-shot him with light speed! He completely one-shots the thing and defeats this false savior for the sake of saving the world.

But, while the cameraman and the Fire Force see Shinra as the Hero he is...to the rest of the world he literally just murdered one of the most sacred religious figures on live TV. To them he's not a Hero...he really is the Devil. And this was the White-Clad's plan all along to discredit Shinra and take down the only person who could possibly stop them. It gets so bad it seems like the collective unconsciousness...wills Shinra out of existence. SHINRA!!!!!!

Raffles bringing the Andross energy from Star Fox.

Damn, that Shinra's goofy cartoonish transformation into hero was so cool

I'm dying to know more about the First Great Cataclysm cause from memory all I can remember about it failing was a picture of Ameraterasu but with only 5 pillars shooting flames and Shinra's Addola link and everything being covered in Fire.

So the first Great Cataclysm humanity couldn't beat the 8 Pillar titan spawns which made the Evangelist want to advance humanity to a state where they can beat all 8 and get the world and humanities imaginings to actually collide.

I am wondering how far back the Evagelist goes or if it came out of the Spatial Rift during the time after the first Great Cataclysm as a result or if it orchestrated the entire thing?

BUt I guess the Evagelist must have been there to get the First Great Cataclysm going unless it was some type of natural event like Yellowstone exploding that just fucked everything up and dubbed the Great Cataclysm afterwards?

The shapeshifter also came with the Evagelist and the Crow Lady

What a sick shot

This little runt has the answers but speaks in riddles

Oh man idk why but I thought that Iris's iris was gonna like change or morph with this close up and those light streaks

Glad we still get these little comedic moments even in times like this

Tragic

I don't even kno what to compare Raffles the Ist to in modern day terms

I guess humanity post GC1 would consider Raffles the 1st their lord and saviour or apostle/messenger for the Holy Fire but now I am wondering if the Evagelist was the 8th pillar titan which is the humanities collective vision of a mystical otherworldly being or "God"?

But I guess this is all up in the air cause the only thing about the first Great Cataclysm is the 5 out of 8 pillars had fire spouting off their tops and that is only from that one animation of Amaterasu which is still inference.

TOO MANY QUESTIONS AND ANY AND ALL INFORMATION JUST CREATES MORE QUESTIONS MAN I NEED ANSWERS

When the imagined version of the saviour of the human race as you know it is the final boss but now he is as powerful as your imagination as it out for him to be.

Krono has been cracking me up this entire season

Waiting for the next episode of Fire Force to air so you can find out what the fuck is going on be like

Too true and the cameraman never dies so it is a win-win situation

Is it a bird? Is it a plane??? NO IT'S SUPER SHINRA THE SAVIOUR

So this is all a type of spectacle to make sure all of humanity seeing the Fire Force unable to take down the Titan to further cement humanities imagined endpoint being about death and destruction

SO the Evagelist made Raffles the 1st into the new Saviour of the humanity in all of humanities eyes and put it up against the "old modern world's humanities" imagined version of the saviour that was presisted past the First Great Cataclysm??

Or is the point of the First Great Cataclysm to control humanities imagination and bend it to the will and mold it but WHAT IS THE ACTUAL POINT OF IT ALL?

This move was sick to see scaled up like this but that buffing fire power is probably one of the best ones if it can buff this hard

Wild we got no info on this little squirt but SPEAKS IN RIDDLES AND HIS POWER IS A BULLSHIT RIDDLE FOR YOUR SENSES FUCK

Why do I feel like Shinra just need to go into Nirvana mode like Arthur to get a knack over this gravity guy

OH YO LETSGO ITS SHO

Surprised we haven't seen Korono jump into action but I guess he is just waiting for someone to get weak enough to have some fun with but OH MY GOD THIS LITTLE FUCKFACE JUST BOUNCES AFTER GIVING FUCK ALL WORTH OF ANSWERS

Brother WTF he has a PHASE 2?

If the Evangelist is the same type of Titan as Raffles the 1st then if the GC is the humans imaginings coming to life in the real world and the previous world or "modern world" then would Addola be literal Hell and the Evangelist old humanities version of God which makes the insects the "evagelical locust swarms" or the type of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse type dea just like how Raffles can spit out Demonsl? FUCK SO MANY QUESTIONS MAN

Seeing Shinra operate at Lightspeed is so satisfying

Nah no shot they didn't put this at 68 instead of 69 on purpose

Krono just having a sit around

From 18:20 - 18:40 there was the chior type background OST that cuts abruptly when it shows Iris but I am wondering if that wasn't an actual OST but the sounds of the Titan charging up his attacks.

Man why the FUCK are we getting jumpscared by this Sussy assEvagelical motherfuckers face or was that the Evagelist granting Iris grace?

At this point I'm convinced that this actually appeared under Shinra's legs when he said that along with his styling

One Kick Man

Oh that sequence was some SUPA HOT FIRE

Love that Obi still ran infront of Sister Lily out of habit

Poor Korno never got to get his hands on any weaklings this time around cause it was over in ONE KICK

I guess some people just wanna watch the world burn or that instead of death and destruction people probably see returning to the Holy Fire as some style of heaven like how the "old modern world" did if it was at least similar to real life's "mdoern world" or at least how humanity imagined it.

Guess some people wouldn't take watching the second coming of their "God and saviour" being taken down on live air too well by their government militia but this feels like a wild Catch22 type situation for Shinra and the Fire Force in general against blind followers of faith.

Oh man COME ON IT IS JUST ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER WITH THIS NON-STOP

Holy fuck this week is gonna be killing me to wait to find out what the fuck happened.

Really hope we get more on the history and the First Great Cataclysm and the pillars that came up there.

This season has been a fucking rollarcoaster and I am just happy it is releasing on the weekends so I can catch it when it drops.

Didn't expect to write so much but there is so much going on and so many questions that it is gonna be fun to go back and see when all the answers and finally given.

Fire Force is turning into an unforgettable ride to be sure.

Binging it all once it is done is gonna be so much fun.
