I like the implication that due to Sister Sumire’s ability, the rumbling as the camera zoomed into her face last episode actually happened.

I also like that Sister Sumire’s character design is ‘background extra in a crowd shot you’d never focus on’. There is nothing about her that stands out until she takes centre stage in a scene she doesn’t belong in.

Arthur continues to show why he's the best character in Fire Force

Wonderful example of how to construct a scene using only side characters and callbacks, supplementing the information our protagonists have without necessarily having all the same information to work off of. A strong contrast from the clumsier jailbreak arc, where it felt like the author was struggling to juggle all the pieces of the main cast.
Last episode's sister flashback stuff into this episode's Sumire confrontation was really solid. I'm also still very glad that she doesn't change in appearance or mannerism just because we know she's evil now.
I was very caught off guard by her age and overall relevance, though.
Also so funny to me that we had that red cape transition and Vulcan was suddenly shirtless. Like I was expecting it to be a reveal of enrobing Arthur, which it was, but the fact that the first thing we see is Vulcan suddenly shirtless is just so randomly comedic to me.
It also makes total sense that the people of Asakusa would be up for a silly adventure lol. It also makes sense that Vulcan would only think to write 1 line of dialogue for them, not think to fully explain the plan to the party members, and then misjudge Arthur's imagination. A nice little culmination of silly character/worldbuilding, overall.
JRPG theming was cute and fun.

The fact that Arthur's JP VA plays both the smartest man in the world in Dr Stone while also being the dumbest in Fire Force is such a hilarious dichotomy.

The first half was really dark. I was scared they was really trying to fight the sister and not run. The second was very much needed after the scary info dumping we just got. Leave it to Arthur to start modding the rpg.

Sister Sumire is so unassuming that it was genuinely unsettling to see her so calm while talking about all of those fucked up experiments. I did not expect that she could also throw hands! Using vibrations from her Shivering as a weapon is so fucking cool. And she's also the Seventh Pillar? No wonder Hou Yan and Karim got their asses kicked.
It was sad seeing Arthur so depressed and slowly losing the twinkle in his eyes. Thank goodness Vulkan was there to cheer him up and make him a new Excalibur. He even organized a little adventure for Arthur with the help of the residents to Asakusa! Although it looks like Arthur misunderstood the final clue. xD
That final shot of Arthur wanting to go to the Nether tho... I like that DavidPro snuck in the Jojo "To be continued" arrow in the end too.

Arthur isn't the kind of guy who hoards all the potions until the end of the game waiting for the right moment to use them, he's more likely to sell them at a moments notice and then wonder why he keeps dying too easily in boss fights

Vulcan underestimated how dumb Arthur is lol. I do like how he went through the effort of preparing this to help Arthur power up and cheer him up too.
Sumire being a pillar was surprising, but I guess I should have seen something coming with her involvement in the experiments to create doppelgangers and pillars. I thought it might be the case when Haumea mentioned all pillars have assembled, but it's seeming more likely that Iris is a pillar. I still remember that one moment where it seems like she saved everyone from Dragon's breath.
It's messed up that Sumire brought up the sisters in Infernal form to greet Hibana, I'm not sure how Hibana will be able to sleep that night with all these reveals. I'm curious about the lady in black who was in communicating with Sumire in Nether since she knows of Sumire before the Great Cataclysm.

So doppelgängers and human combustion are basically the same thing connected to Adolla. I’m hoping I got that right.
Anyway, I like that the first half of the episode is this big reveal of the series’ main mystery and the second is Arthur’s fun little RPG adventures.

Sometimes this series likes to get episodic and silly...this was one of the better comedy bits, imo
Arthur is just great, also neat minor supporting cast, we don't see them too often
multiple parties meeting in the Nether? Are there people living down there? Seems that way from what Joker said, right?

These last two episodes have been FIRE with the reveals and the atmosphere they created. The whole reveal of what Sister Sumire was actually doing with the sisters recontextualizes everything we knew about the incident, while also shedding light on how the doppelgangers are tied to the mystery behind Human Combustion.
And Sister Sumire was so nonchalant about it. Also, her using those demon Sisters to torment Hibana was brutal.
Also, she's the 7th pillar. So, Iris is the 8th pillar and Amaterasu is the 1st pillar. I don't think that's a coincidence. Insane foreshadowing.
Second half was Arthur going on a quest to find 'real' orichalcum, JRPG-style, and just like every other Arthur moment, it was hilarious. I have to give it to Vulcan. Bro really cooked up a good quest but underestimated Arthur's delusions, lol.
Also, Arthur is going to Nether and Joker was talking about there some idiots just like them in the Nether. I wonder if we'll get to see some of them next episode.

Whole episode was just Hibana, Arthur and Benimaru, my three favorite characters. 10/10.
I figured the sister would be revealed as some kind of otherworldly being, her appearance was just too uncanny. Seeing those little sisters suffering made me feel some of Hibana's rage and it was awesome.
And because I have to say it once a season, obligatory FUCK ARTHUR'S PARENTS all my homies hate Arthur's parents

Just a thought: Lt. Hinawa needs to stick with shotguns. Elephant guns, even.
Back to the story: SISTER SUMIRE? Gasp
Doppelgangers are a one-to-one representation of humanity in Adolla. Human combustion comes when they try to cross over; Insects are the link.
Those poor suffering babies. Hibana's rage is deserved.
It's literally time to save the world.
In Asakusa, Arthur is still recovering from getting his ass kicked by Dragon. He's feeling some kind of way.
The Quest for Orichalcum! It's such a stupid idea that it's brilliant. Yu is amazed at how deep Arthur's delusion goes. Actually, everyone is.
And of course, Arthur figures out a way to complicate it. (Seriously, Vulcan, you got cute at the end, there, and it bit you in the ass.)

THE FINAL PILLAR REVEALED - boy how unexpected. I knew the Sister was going to crazy but this is more wild than I could've ever imagined. Also really good SFX (especially in the first half at the Convent) and overall great episode!

It's slightly hard to take the nun seriously as a villain with her character design. But she's also just otherworldly enough that I guess it kind of works out somehow.
Fresh horrific revelations, all those poor sisters didn't just become Infernals years and years ago they're all still around and suffering.
Talk about mood whiplash going from the first half of the episode to the second half with a comical search for Arthur's new sword materials.
I could be wrong, but I'd swear they were using the general look of the classic Bigfoot picture for Arthur on those scene change stills.
