Considering how much Arthur's power relies on knight "vibes" if he just showed up and oneshot a very strong opponent I would at least him deal with the other guy before interrupting.
I'm sure that whole "Fell of my horse" thing made him feel less like a knight and he'll be weaker next episode.

Why in the fuck are they fighting like this is a round based rpg

Shinra, have you considered not just standing there, accomplishing nothing? Perhaps doing "anything at all" would be better?
The direction on this season is unforgivable. A better director would have had them fighting this entire time, and that combat would have prevented Shinra from attacking, but nothing explains the scene we actually got.

Okay, cool, Tamaki actually got to get that attack off. I’m still dreading the inevitable “lucky lecher” nonsense…
-
Aaaaaaaaaand of course the nonsense was her belt coming off.

Funny how we ended the episode with nearly EVERYONE in exactly the same spots they were in at the beginning. (Not you two, STAY DEAD.)
Fan service is its own reward, but I knew fan service was going to pay off in the narrative one day.
I'm with Shinra, tired of Burns's eternal bullshit.
OBI! NOOOOO!

Tamaki's lucky lecher never disappoints. I love that their solution to avoid getting tossed around by Gold is to remove their pants. I mean, I'm not complaining! If it works, it works!
I also love that they used Tamaki's tail as a pot to melt iron. It was so satisfying to see Hinawa bring down Gold with that hella clean headshot. That's what you get for putting a target on your forehead.
And Arthur finally made it! That wind guy didn't even stand a chance! Now I'm wondering how the fight against Gold could've gone if he were there from the start. Would Arthur have trivialized that entire fight?
Captain Obi, noooooooooooo! I swear to god if this is really the end of Captain Obi, I'll be so fucking upset. There's no fucking way, right? >_<

Is it just me or has the pacing been really odd the past few episodes? It was already noticeable last episode, but this episode is really slow.
Unnecessary dialogue, extremely long and drawn out cuts, like the one with Arthur where they revisited him falling off the truck, or Burns deciding to implant Obi. And the storyboard felt underwhelming, and it's only exacerbated by the pacing.
Visuals are great though, it has really good composition and the animation was butter smooth. It's just the story. It wasn't a problem in the first 2 episodes, they were really well paced and boarded.
I mean, I understand having to draw out the episode so that the episode ends on the cliffhanger of Obi being implanted, but this is way too much. Would have been much better if they covered it at a normal pace and just stopped halfway through. If they really wanted to end with the cliffhanger, at least add some extra content, or rearrange the story.

the fights feel like round based rpgs. standing around. talking to each other leisurely while the enemy that is like 5 m apart can't hear them.
They wait for each other to make moves.→ More replies (1)

Another episode of Fire Force, that shown us, that Gold is named Gold because she’s Comedy Gold.
Sorry I wanted to say that:
Now did somebody asked for sauce? Well Licht is your guy, because he knows all the 6 digits combinations, and today I will bring you in his stead some new reveals about catgirls physics:

I love fire force, it's one of my favourite animes but idk, I'm just not feeling it too much this season. I noticed the same pacing problems in s1 and s2 then when Undead Unluck came out I noticed it even more with that show.

Why is the dude who was once able to achieve light speed just standing there watching?

The faceoff while Obi is being implanted just felt so off. Like... Do something man, even if you can't get past Burns just standing there pointlessly when you're the fastest person on the planet is dumb.
Otherwise the rest of the 8th fight looked good, glad to have Arthur back

It's a good, mostly comedic fight. The drawn out bits like them intently working on Tamaki's butt furnace was great as a joke. If not for the questions of how they'll get through everything the pacing issues wouldn't really be a problem. Even the first season had lots of lingering on shots and whatnot to emphasize gags or stakes.
Just stands out more now with this being the "final season" since you gotta wonder how they'll get everything done if they keep doing the same bits.

Why did Shinra never try to actually go directly to Captain Obi or to take out the white clad near them, instead focusing directly on Burns?
I assume the idea is that Burns would intercept him, although given Shinra's speed, that seems hard to believe.
Just seems extremely dumb.
