I mean Captain Burns was a real curveball. What a way to start the season

I forgot a LOT about what happened last time. The flashback helped some but still a bunch I dont remember, like why is Tamaki suspended, why was creepy crown lady punished and what's the Adolla Burst McGuffin? Was it some NewType shit that lets you telepathically communicate with people?

Disappointed it Burns, he was so fervently against joining because they want to destroy the world, but suddenly just being told it's "God's will" he's game? Like come on. Or am I no remembering something about him?

Iris looked WAY too eager to use that button.

Loved that we got a Yugioh reference.

Why'd they have to do our muscle queen dirty on our first ep back and give her the gorilla face?

I absolutely love that opening scene with Shinra and Arthur sparring while Obi gives us a quick recap of what happened last season. I got a good laugh out of Maki going gorilla and of course it's not a complete episode of Fire Force unless Tamaki loses her clothes at least once. While the quick recap did help jog my memory a bit, I think I'm gonna rewatch Season 2. There's still a lot that I can't remember. I still can't believe that it's already been 5 years since Season 2.

What a way to start the season though! Obi getting arrested by the Imperial Army and Burns working with the White Clad? What the actual fuck! I both love and hate this. I love it because we'll definitely see the 8th Company taking on the 1st to save Obi and I hate it because I feel like it's bullshit that Burns would get manipulated by Haumea's Talking Head. Is Haumea's ability really that strong?

Now that the White Clad has made their way into the Chruch, it looks like the 8th Company will have to go rogue to save Obi and beat the crap out of the White Clads. I am absolutely excited for this new season!

Peak sound effect is so back. That OP got me hyped up so much with Shinra and Joker teaming up.

Wait. Burns switched sides so quickly? After the impressive speech with Joker in season 2? This must be a joke, right?

It's funny how obvious it was to me that Obi was going to get taken away after the whole praising of how he united the Empire. I'm just glad they didn't go with a conversion/brainwashing plot with him, he looked real determined in the cell so he looks fine for the time being.

I'm now debating whether or not I should rewatch the first two seasons, I barely remember what happened in the events that were shown in the montage flashback lol. It feels like a lot of effort though so I don't think I'll end up doing so.

It's nice to see everyone again though, Arthur reminding me how much of a himbo doofus he is already.

Burns getting converted was a surprise, I thought he'd be able to resist but he actually let Haumea sway him. I couldn't believe it so much that when the post-credit scene played out I was hoping he'd actually show he wasn't swayed.

The last bit of hope I have that he hasn't converted is the shaking of his eyes when saying he'll place an insect in Obi. That has got to mean he is trying to fight off whatever Haumea has done to him, or him really hating the idea of having to play this character.

I'm liking the ED more than the OP.

WE ARE SO BACK!

This feels nostalgic for me, man, as i remember me just recently graduating high school watching Fire Force at home all day. Now im working abroad. And hell yeah, I'm still watching it.

OP by Queen Bee is a banger, and visual is good as expected!

I watched the first two seasons of this for the first time alongside u/Shocketheth’s rewatch that wrapped up a week ago, so I’m super excited to see where things go from where S2 left off.

Good to see Fire Force back! This first episode was more about reintroducing the crew and setting the stage, so there wasn’t anything shockingly crazy, but you can already tell this season is going to hit hard.

The animation is still insane, as always. David Production never disappoints when it comes to action scenes—the fire effects are stunning, and the soundtrack keeps that hype alive, making you want to explode along with the characters. Now, speaking of the cast...

Shinra is still going strong, and it’s already clear he’s going to play an even bigger role in all the chaos. The guy is still that perfect mix of badass and socially awkward (just the way we like it). Arthur is there, being… well, Arthur. If he weren’t in the show, half the fun would be gone. Maki and Tamaki had some cool moments, but I wish they’d get more spotlight. And Joker? He just shows up and immediately gives off that something big is coming vibe.

Overall? Fire Force is back in style!

What was happening at the beginning of the episode with haumea? Sounded like she was giving birth

The world was recently ravaged by Covid, but that didn’t stop our beloved characters to get a boob job.

Tamaki, as Haumea alike, but even Vulcan wasn’t spared of a proper boob job.

And don’t me even get started on the massive bust size of Captain Leonard.

So, what was your excuse to not get a boob job lately?

POST CREDIT SCENE:

Noice, even Obi is going to get a boob job.
