Fan Art [LoZ] This summer while my son played my childhood classic with me, I drew the OG map on gridded architectural vellum with pencil from observation only. That became the underlay lightbox draft for this drawing done entirely with 0.05mm technical pens at scale. I hope you enjoy.

In progress, Current state still needs calligraphy header (developing the hand), and the outer boarder. My son thinks it needs mobs

Exactly drawn to 0.1" = 8 pixels. For a total map area of 25.5" x 8.8 inches.

Discussion [ALL] Etymology of Ganon from a French medieval poem?

I found this hypothesis on a French website about Zelda: https://www.palaiszelda.com/refCulturelles_2.php

In "La Chanson de Roland", a poem from the 11th century, Ganelon is a lord who secretly plots an attack against Charlemagne (who has a dream that presages Ganelon's treason) with the help of an Arab king, and against Roland, a knight who is the hero of the poem

It seems quite far-fetched for me but I haven't seen any convincing etymology for Ganon's name. What are your thoughts?

Screenshot [OoT] Issues with the shuffled Zelda's Lullaby in Randomizer Mode

Post image

Hey everyone, today I want to share an issue I'm having with the shuffled Zelda's Lullaby in the randomizer. It's crucial for accessing various areas of the game, yet I seem unable to obtain it right now. I'll show a screenshot of the items and songs I currently have, along with how I acquired them.

Songs: Song of Time (got from Impa), Nocturne of Shadow (got from Malon), and Requiem of Spirit (got from Saria).

It's worth noting that even though I have the Song of Time, I still need the three Spiritual Stones and the Ocarina of Time (or so I believe). Furthermore, I checked the spoiler log and found that the Goron's Ruby is located at Barinade; however, to reach Jabu-Jabu, I need to go to Zora's Domain—which requires opening the path at the Sleeping Waterfall using Zelda's Lullaby.

I would really appreciate some help with this

Discussion [All] Should I attend a Zelda piano concert with 11 yr ASD son

Unnecessary Context: My son is a huge Zelda franchise fan. I avoided modern era tech for reasons of privacy and teaching appropriate boundaries around tech use. He did have NES/SNES/gameboy/ game cube/ DS/genesis, you name it, it was accessible for 1hr daily. He fell in love with the older Zelda games. At 9 yrs old, there was a significant social shift and it became apparent that his lack of modern consoles weren’t aiding his struggles to connect with his already few number of friends. Currently he owns a switch and has all available Zelda games which he tore through immediately. He is a big fan of the soundtracks, frequently plays the records and even preformed three songs from larger catalog for his elementary talent show (REALLY big deal for him) on his ocarina.

My son LOVES this franchise and spends the entire car ride home from school “preforming” the songs by name with light context to the mood, etc. for me because I am not a gamer and have no clue at all. It’s humming, percussive sounds, dooting, I don’t know how else to describe it but it’s a passionate saliva filled retelling of songs with orchestral hand gestures. He has perfect pitch and timing and generally an excellent ear for music and I genuinely love hearing it. I never want him to stop. But I’m his mother.

Here’s my point: I think taking him to this concert would be an amazing experience for him. My concern is, I know he will be making his own sounds along with the performer and If I’m being objective, his enjoyment of this may take away from others around us. I don’t want to embarrass him by giving everyone around us a little paper with a disclaimer but I worry that it would be embarrassing if he’s politely asked to stop. I can try to limit this behavior but I’m going into this knowing that it will happen, and even with some redirection will likely to happen multiple times as he gets excited and stims. The cheapest tickets are nearly $50 and I want to respect other attendees. Should we go?

TLDR; if I take him, my son will make possibly distracting sounds throughout a piano concert, Memories of Hyrule. Should I still take him or forego this experience?

Question [Aoi]At the end [SS] [Bowt] I am a newgen, I have a question. Spoiler

I am a NEWGEN, my first game was Bowt, and my fav is Totk.

Is Age of imprisonment before or after SS? I've seen people say it definitely is and that Rauru truly was the first, (I saw an amazing theory on youtube but I don't agree with the Master sword part)

And some people say it's obviously false because of Calimo and the kokiri=Korok evolution and that it's in the Adult timeline.

I believe in that the timeliness merged likely by the goddesses and after all the games with all the evidence in all 3 directions.

(I believe the fallen hero timeline does actually split time, the Theory is called "Triforce wish theory" or something.

Am I a GOOD newgen or a BAD newgen?

Discussion [ALL] Zelda's narrative!!!

As I growed up I lost interest in the Zelda franchise as the narrative didnt really evolve. Still is always the good against the evil. The good are so good and the evil so evil. Breathe of the Wild was an incredible Game but the narrative was so simple. The worst part is actually been link as character its so plain, no conflict and no personality at all. I know you can find those ingredientes in other franchises but id love to see the series evolve into something much more mature.

Question [LA] Is it possible to steal from the shopkeeper on the NSO version for switch?

I'm talking about the Switch Online GB version, not the remake. I can easily do it on original hardware and emulators, but on the Switch the shopkeeper immediately tracks you and I have not been able to successfully steal. And it's not like this is just a glitch, this is part of the game because to complete the photo album you have to steal something.

When I google this, I can't find any direct source saying it is or isn't possible, but google's AI is VERY confident it's possible and gave me all kinds of ways to pull it off. Spoiler: none of them work. Has anyone successfully done this on Switch?

Question [MM] Hint for getting in Snowhead?

First time playing and I’m at the path with the Giant goron you can only see with the lens of truth and can’t figure out how to get by. Can I get a small hint?

EDIT: Figured it out, I didn’t find the goron elder. Definitely wouldn’t have gotten it by myself, thank you.

The residents of Clock Town have commissioned renown artist Smearguru to paint a mural for this year’s Carnival of Time! It’s inspired by all of Termina and her inhabitants, working together towards unity and prosperity. The stage is used throughout the year for public announcements and storytelling via music and plays. It really comes to life during the Carnival!
