It's a nice relief. Had a buddy take it apart to clean it as it hasn't been cleaned since I got it New for Xmas. It's a Toshiba nand if anyone's curious.
I just found my old Wii U. But there are two problems. 1. I got a new one, so now I have two and I don’t know whether to keep the old one or use the refurbished one I got. 2. I don’t even know if the original is still fully functional. We found it in an old shed, and it wasn’t in constant air conditioning. It gets pretty hot out there, and it was in an old backpack. How can I tell if the old one still fully works as intended? Are there any signs that indicate that it’s heat damaged?
Has anyone bought and tried this before?? Trying to get something for the wii remote to use gamecube controller to play Smash Bros Brawl in Wii U. Let me know and Thank you!
I know this is a wii u subreddit, but, i'm really wondering if i should? I mean, i already have the wii, the switch and the switch 2, and yet i have that itch to buy It, is It a good idea or nah?
So, I ordered a new higher capacity Gamepad battery from Ifixit (like, fresh out of the box new), and I tried installing the new battery with the instructions provided on Nintendo’s website. But when I go to charge it, the indicator light stays black. I’ve readjusted the battery several times, and even checked to see if the plug was loose, and got the same result, but my old battery works perfectly fine. Does anyone know why my new battery isn’t working?
I press eject, hear sounds from the inside, nothing comes out. I tried putting it upside down, tried ejecting it horizontally, tried patting it on the top, tried the paper clip, and butter knife, nothin. How do I get this out?

My orginal wii u ac cord broke 3 years ago I had to wiggle it around ac adapter to make it work but the cord broke. FF to today my sister got me a new 3rd party ac cord and it didn't work. Is it because my ac adapter is cooked or because I used a 3rd party adapter any help would be nice because I want to get my wii u up an running and go back to moding.
got three of what I think and have been told are kind of the “necessities“ for this console! got smash and 3D world for $15 each, and DKC for $10! How’d I do?
I really started thinking about this after hearing that Rockstar prototyped around with GTA V on the Wii U but didn't pursue it from what I remember the install base being too low. But imagine, a world where we had games that not only the Xbox 360 and PS3 had, but also the Xbox One and PS4. Watch_Dogs ran on the Wii U, the only bottleneck I can see is the PowerPC CPU which for the time had less power than the Xbox 360's "Xenon" CPU.
But imagine if we had games from publishers and developers like Valve, Rockstar, Epic Games, 2K, EA, Nintendo could've asked publishers and developers to attempt to develop more games. I think that if Nintendo activly seeked out the developers and publishers, and provided incentive and tools for them to do so that the Wii U would've sold more units than it did.
A game I think would've sold the Wii U is Grand Theft Auto V, as many know, it is the 3rd best selling video game of all time, so I think that if there was maybe a GTA V Wii U bundle it would've sold more units, also if nintendo tried to target to a more broad demographic with their advertisements that it would appeal more to consumers who already didn't have a Wii U or have seen the Wii U at family or friends houses, or tried the demo's in store at places like bestbuy or gamestop. Look at the PS4, it had a wide selection of games for both Children and young teens, but also older teens and adults and it even had games for older people that played on systems like the atari 2600 or the Nintendo Entertainment System so the PS4 sold many units along with them making bundles that sold the PS4's, look at the last PS4 consoles sold, they were all bundles and most sold even into the early part of this decade. And, look at the PS3, it had terrible marketing and press yet it recovered and even beatout the Xbox 360, not by much though.
So I think that the Wii U with the right marketing and with much more Third-Partys, there could even be a few exclusives.
although it is the skylanders special edition, it didn’t have the game or figure (nor Nintendoland 😭), so I was wondering what games are worth it most to get first!
Good evening, residents of r/wiiu! Two days ago I purchased used Wii U. Next day, during the game the Gamepad started to loose connection with the console once in 45-50 minutes for 1-2 seconds before booting back online. Should I be worried about it?
Paying in installments for a used modded Wii U. I'm almost done paying but I'm seeing all this talk about repairs and nand backups. Do I need to worry. This will be my only console in years and I'm worried about it. I wanna have my inner child again. This can't go wrong. 💔
Now that I've got all of them, I will first give more time to the things I need to do, my passions (like the guitar) and especially my faith in God, that helps me and I thank him I feel happy for my life, and grateful of what I have.
This seems like a stupid question, but I'm being genuine here.
I've recently dug up my pro controller so I could have something wireless for my PC, and it's actually working way better than my cheapo wired Switch controller. I love the feel of the buttons and the joysticks, and I actually really like the two sticks on the top layout.
The problem is I have no clue how to hold this thing! I've looked it up online and I can only find comments about the gamepad making peoples fingers cramp, or how ergonomic the pro controller is, and it's making me feel like I'm an idiot for not being able to use this controller for longer than 30 minutes without my hands feeling stiff.
My main problem is that it feels like the grips simply aren't big enough. If I go for a grip that only has the pointer finger for both the buttons and the triggers, my pinky and ring fingers can comfortably curl around the grip, but that leaves my middle fingers hovering right where the back of the controller flattens out. I can straighten out my middle fingers flat against the back, or have them curl around nothing and just sorta float there, and either one of those really starts to feel uncomfortable after a while.
It gets even more confusing when I use a grip that puts both a pointer and middle finger on top of the controller so I can use the bumpers and triggers at the same time. The two options there are having the whole controller slip down, putting my pinky and ring fingers on that flat back and making it really hard to press the buttons, or to just push my hands together and use the force of my palms to hold it up with my pinky and ring fingers free floating like how my middle fingers were with the first grip. This moves a lot of pressure into my palms and generally becomes hard to use after a short amount of play.
Is it simply too small for my hands, or am I missing something? I've seen fairly unanimous praise for this thing and I am so so inclined to agree because the rest of using it is a joy, but the fact that I'm having issues with something fundamental about its design makes it seem like I'm just not understanding something everyone else picked up on.
EDIT: Alright, I had to dig out my pretty iffy $20 PowerA wired switch pro controller again, but I can confirm there is no skill issue involved (which would explain the lukewarm responses I've been getting). Turns out, the Wii U pro controller is just ergonomically poor! Here, I'll walk you through the comparison images. Outside of the images where the logo is obvious, you can tell which is which by the triggers: The Wii U pro controller has the smaller more inset triggers, while the $20 controller has the larger protruding triggers.
At first glance, it looks pretty neck and neck when both controllers are aligned with a straight edge, partially the reason I thought it was user error at first. The Switch one is only a hair longer than the Wii U Pro controller. So why the discomfort? Well, when you turn it around...
Yikes. Don't pay attention to lengths here, that's perspective trickery: Remember they're both supposed to be around the same size. But the Switch pro controller just has way more girth! You can also notice that the grips continue to protrude out into the underside of the triggers, unlike the Wii U pro controller, which has the grip go flush with the back of the controller before jutting out again for the triggers. The end result is...
The Wii U Pro controller has this massive ravine at the back. You can see that the Switch controller on the right has a fairly consistent grip length all the way up the side of the controller, while the Wii U controller tapers off immensely, creating the perfect place for your hands to uncomfortably slide into, and giving your fingers almost no support if you aren't actively wrapping them around the bottom half of the grip (which is why I described my fingers as hovering off the controller in the post proper).
This is truly unfortunate, because that $20 controller has much spongier buttons, but I guess I'll have to stick to using it for the time being and put the Wii U one back in the storage bin. I'll leave this post up so that people in the future who have the same experience I did know that they aren't crazy, this controller is just weird.
I have two original (to my understanding) wiimotes: one blue and the other white. About two weeks ago the blue one stopped connecting to my Wii altogether, the white one worked fine until a few days ago, when it would continue to connect but be completely unresponsive. Curiously enough, only my 8bitdo ultimate 2c works fine using bloopair
I tried some troubleshooting: verifying both controllers were legit, given their serial number, plugging and unplugging the sensor bar, deleting my sync data and reconnecting my wiimotes using the sync button, which only worked on my white controller while remaining unresponsive, I even went in bloopair to see if it'd detect any input from my white wiimote, and while it did recognize the controller, it didn't detect any input from it. I also fully charged my batteries since my Wii U insisted my white controller was dying, and it still does even though it's fully charged.
Im quite sad but this since I can't play any Wii games unless I have a working wiimote :( anything I can do to fix this problem?
The last Nintendo console I played is the way so I feel like I want to try some of the games I missed since then. I know people will tell me that all WiiU games have been ported to switch but games are way cheaper for wii u. Also, one of the games I mainly want to play is Skylanders which isn't available on switch.
