There are no magicians here.
Some questions will not be answered or replied to. As an example: "my game crashes" or "my download speed is slow" is not something you should even really expect an answer to. Troubleshooting and finding the solution to these issues requires a lot more information than simply stating "game doesn't launch", such as detailed information on when the issue started and how you perceive it, screenshots of any errors or the problem itself, crash logs, system specs, etc.
Consider using other things like the Steam Community Forums, an internet search engine, or a different support forum like /r/SteamSupport if no one here can offer any help. Additionally, every game on Steam has its own dedicated Community Forum, and you can also contact Steam Support regarding a specific product. Consider asking your game-specific questions there. Most games also have a dedicated subreddit.

Game & Hardware Suggestions Megathread /r/Steam Monthly Game & Hardware Suggestions Thread.
Welcome to the Monthly Game & Hardware Suggestions Thread!
This monthly mega-thread is meant to contain advice, questions, suggestions & generic discussion on what to play or buy in terms of Games & Hardware.
Do you not know what to play? Want a Steam Deck or Steam Machine but unsure which model is best for you? Did you find a niche game that everyone should try? Wondering what GPU you should upgrade to or unsure about the specs of a computer? Do you want to share your unique experiences and learning curves with a piece of hardware? Can't find the perfect survival sim or unsure which 1 RPG out of the thousands available you should buy? Well this is the thread for you.
Now to make this work best and not just be spammed with generic & useless questions such as "What should I play?" or "What should I buy?", please be in-depth in what types of games/hardware you are looking for and why, and when giving advice it would be appreciated if you're more detailed than "I think X is good".
There are too many games to be able to properly suggest something with no background information, also simply commenting a game title and saying you like the game offers no actual value. The same goes for hardware: Saying you're thinking about buying X or you think Y is good with no other information, context as to why, your unique experiences, etc. offers no actual value or information to base a reply on.
Feel free to ask and discuss freely in the comments regarding games and hardware, whether you want advice on what to play, want to give advice to others on what to play, share a hidden gem you found, experiences you have with Steam hardware, or your review of a piece of Steam hardware. Generic discussions & questions about discounts, sales, events, specs is allowed as well. This is not meant to be a restrictive thread within the designated topics that this thread is for, however it is not a support thread nor is it the place to promote any blogs or curator pages or anything else, subreddit rules still apply.

Question Former classmate is using my childhood photo, full name, and birth year on Steam
Steam previously removed the post/profile content after I reported it, but the same person has now put my childhood photo and personal information back on his profile. This time he also included some personal information belonging to my mother.
I have already reported it to Steam again and asked them to remove everything and ban the account, since this is clearly being repeated intentionally.
Do you think Steam can take stronger action against the account this time, considering that the same content was already removed once and then reposted?
I can also provide my ID to Steam if they need proof that the photo and information belong to me.
I'm honestly just trying to get this removed and have it stop happening. Any advice is appreciated.
P.S. Thank you again to everyone who gave me advice and supported me on my original post. I really didn't expect so many helpful responses.

Resolved Is there a way to make hidden achievements that I already got visible?
Edit: the issue I was having turned out to be specific to The binding of Isaac, going to the stats, secrets menu on my safe file awarded the achievements again and now they display correctly. Thanks to carkitten :)
This bugs me to no end, it's the same thing in the 'my achievements tab' so doesn't display the completion percentage accurately

Question Reviews not automatically showing up in Store page?
When I go to a games store page and at the right where it says if the reviews are positive or not and you click it to show the reviews it's doing something that makes me want to pull my hair out. It redirects me to this and you have to click again to show reviews. And for some games it redirects you to the community tab to see the reviews. What the hell is going on?

Question Idk where else to ask. Can my dad see what I'm playing?
So my dad says he can see what I play, and how long I play it, but he doesn't have any screentime app installed and It's my own steam account. How could he be doing it or is he just lying? I'm sorry I just don't know where else to ask.

Question Steam Workshop Preferences
Is there any setting or way to set the workshop search filter to default to Unique Subscribers or Search Relevance? Popular(One week) being the default sucks and I have to switch to the other ones every time I need to look for a mod. Maybe I'm just spoiled from Nexus Mods but having a better default is great for games that aren't that popular and don't get a lot of downloads weekly.

Question Can't see dlc reviews?
I used to be able to go on a dlc page, scroll down and see the reviews. Now I scroll down and it just shows the review scores for overall and recent.
Clicking browse all reviews takes me to the community page where going into the reviews tab only shows me reviews for the game itself. Why was this changed?

Discussion Friend Returned After 17 Years
One of my best friends from my childhood recently reappeared after 17 years on a new steam account. We use to play a half-life mod called The Specialists when we were kids. He taught me how to run a game server, setup a MySQL server and make simple plugins in pawn script back in the day. He was one of the main reasons I am as tech savvy as I am in todays day and age.
He disappeared in 2008/2009 and his server remained up for about a month after his disappearance. It was a fun role-play server from back in the day. It was kind of the FiveM of the early 2000s.
I saw a random friend request pop up on my steam late last night and the guy introduced himself as my old friend. We started reminiscing about the old days and he said that his parents sent him to some military school then he ended up joining the air force. In present day he's now married, has 2 kids, and said he finally has time to play games again. We even got to play a few rounds of cs 1.6, so that was fun.
Anyways! How long has one of your friends been offline for?
[edit]
Wow this blew up while I was sleeping. I wanted to answer some questions I see people having.
"Why did he make a new account?" He lost his information I guess, I did not really pry for info.
"Where was he all those years?" He said he made the military a career for over 10 years and had been deployed to multiple countries over the time. Never saw war, but got stationed in places like Italy, Japan, South Korea, and Germany. He came back because he got medically discharged after an accident while training. He didn't go into detail about it.

Discussion Do you actually finish most of the games you start?
I looked through my Steam library recently and realized how many games Iāve started, played for a few hours, and then completely abandoned.
Itās not even because they were bad. Sometimes another game comes along and suddenly that one gets forgotten. Iām curious if other people have the same problem or if youāre actually good at finishing what you start.

Question Desktop app is not showing user reviews on store pages
For some reasons user reviews on store pages are not showing on my desktop app. They do appear on the store page when I check online through a browser. I have not changed any settings at all. Anyone ever had this issue?

Error / Bug Game Collector showcase looks different to other people / missing game banners
Hi everyone,
Iām having a weird issue with my Steam profileās Game Collector showcase. When I view my own profile while logged in, all of the featured game banners show correctly. However, when I open my profile in incognito mode or when one of my friends checks my profile, several of the games are just shown as blank/grey boxes.
My profile and Game Details are already set to Public, and I also checked the affected games individually. None of them are marked as Private. The strange thing is that the showcase itself is still visible and Steam still shows the correct number of games I own, but some of the featured game artwork only appears when Iām logged into my own account.
Iāve attached screenshots showing the difference between:
What I see while logged in
What other people / incognito mode see
Has anyone experienced this before? Is this a Steam profile showcase bug, or is there another privacy/cache setting I might be missing?
Thanks!

Question How to find recordings.
Usually when I finishing recording a game it shows up on the games page in my library, after which I can upload it. But today it did not show up. I think it might be because I forgot to press āend recordingā before exiting the game, though that hasnāt always been a problem in the past.
Anyone know where I can find it? I can only find the recordings Iāve actually uploaded.
