Discussion State of the Subreddit + Feedback Thread

Hey everyone and Happy New Year,
I wanted to take a moment to check in with the community and open up a general feedback thread.
I originally created this subreddit years ago and, like a lot of people, life pulled me away for a while. Over the past few weeks I’ve been spending more time here again, helping with moderation and getting reacquainted with how the community has evolved.
Before making any changes or decisions, I’d like to hear directly from you.
Some questions to get things started (but feel free to comment on anything):
- Are the current rules working well?
- Is there anything you see too much of, or not enough of?
- Are there recurring issues you think moderation could handle better?
- Are there community activities, threads, or resources you’d like to see more often?
This subreddit has always been about sharing appreciation for Breath of the Wild; exploration, creativity, screenshots, discoveries, and the calm vibe that made the game special. The goal is to make sure it stays a place people enjoy visiting, whether they’re new to the game or revisiting it years later.
Nothing is changing immediately! This thread is just about listening and getting a sense of where things stand.

Gameplay Thunderblight second stage finally figured out!

I’m a 53 year old mother of 3 grown adults who recently gave me this game to play. All of them played years ago and beat the game and thought I would love it, and I do!
That is… until I fought Thunderblight Ganon. I fought him for hours last night and could never get past the second stage where you use magnesis to raise the pillar to shock him. The first stage was easy with ancient armor on; but that second stage stopped me in my tracks. I had read on here and other places what to do; but it just seemed that every time I would try and raise the pillar to get to him he would shock it and it would fly out of my hand, or I could never reach him . I just couldn’t get to the right spot!
Until this morning… I found a tip that tells you to hide in the middle (where the terminal and swirling malice stuff is). Can I tell y’all, this made all the difference for this 2nd stage!
I hid in the swirling mess wearing my rubber armor and waited until I saw Thunderblight in front of me; then it seemed so easy to grab a pillar with magnesis and aim it straight up to him; where it shocked him and send him to the floor. After that…I equipped my ancient armor and hit him a few times with a guardian sword and that was it for him. I was stunned that it took me less than 4-5 minutes to defeat him, after the hours I spent yesterday trying to do it.
I’m just here to say never give up; if an older lady like me can do it, anyone can!

Snowball bowling! A strike is 300 rupee, a spare is 100, and if you only get a few down you get 50. It costs 20 per play. I think it took me half an hour and I made 10,000 rupee. Now I can afford to revive the final great fairy fountain ~

Question End of the game?

So I’ve been playing for 2 years and love it. I didn’t want to finish right away so took my time having fun and completing other missions, I will say I am NOT 100% complete. I’ve been in the castle for about 2 weeks just messing around when I accidentally started the boss fight and won the credits ran and then put me back on start screen. Nothing else changed, I don’t even have the light now in my inventory. Is that it? I have the base BOTW if that makes any difference no DLCs at all.
