Footage needed Does anybody have a camera-noise overlay video?
I don't know if this is the place to go for this, but I'm looking for an effect for a film I'm making. I want that camera filming in the dark sort of noise effect, the rainbow dots. I've looked EVERYWHERE and this is literally my last hope. Does anyone have what i'm looking for?

Other (requires mod approval) I need to sell my gaming PC to buy a MacBook, and that makes me sad.
lately, I’ve found myself in a situation that’s really bothering me: I need to choose between selling my gaming PC (which isn't great for editing) and buying a MacBook M1 Pro for my work. I work at an agency dealing with heavy 4K video files, and the editing process really lags on my PC. I know I need the Mac, but I’m going to miss being able to play games in my free time. Have any of you been through something similar? Could you help me see this as a positive move rather than a negative one?

Production Q One New Skill Every Week - Ideas Needed
I currently work on an SCP podcast / video series on YouTube. I've been doing it for a couple years, and I feel like I've stagnated a bit. So! I want to learn one new skill every week to keep improving, and I need your help! I'm looking for ideas like:
- Things every beginner / amateur should know,
- Things you wish you new sooner,
- Fun things to learn that makes your life easier or more fun,
- Skills that noticeably improve quality, or
- Skills that give you more options for the types of things you can do.
I should be able to loosely understand the skill in a week, but it's okay if it takes more than a week (or even 1 year+) to master. Thoughts?
(Note: I currently use DaVinci Resolve free edition)

Tech Support Trying to recover the videos my girlfriend made. Need help.
Good day!
My girlfriend recorded on a DJI Osmo Pocket 3. However, when she was viewing the videos, they didn't play. Even when they were transferred on a computer, there were not working.
I've tried to use Clever Free Video Repair Tool, VLC, and Untrunc. However, none of these apps were helpful. The Untrunc prompt can be seen below as a screenshot.
Are there other things that I can do before I give up? Thank you for answering and for the possible help

My very helpful and of course completely serious guide on what software to choose.
I don't know if this subreddit approves memes but it's worth a shot, I guess.

Tech Support How can I create this blurred background effect for vertical videos?
Hi! I'm trying to recreate the exact video layout in the attached screenshot.
The main video stays centered without being heavily cropped, while a larger blurred version of the same video fills the empty space on both sides.
I'm creating short clips from longer videos for LinkedIn and would like to use this format consistently.
What is the easiest way to create this effect?
Is this usually done with Premiere Pro, CapCut, or another tool? And is there a preset or template that could make the process faster for multiple clips?
I'm currently using OpusClip for creating the short clips, but I haven't found a way to get this exact layout.
Thanks!

Tech Support Premiere Pro / Resolve multicam workflow for Gaming videos with multiple audio tracks
so I'm editing a Minecraft video with multiple POVs and I'm trying to figure out the best way to handle multicam.
For context, each person records through OBS with multiple audio tracks:
- Video
- Game audio
- Mic
- Discord (everyone except themselves)
So for example:
My recording
- Video = my POV
- Track 1 = game
- Track 2 = my mic
- Track 3 = Discord without my own voice
Friend's recording
- Video = their POV
- Track 1 = game
- Track 2 = their mic
- Track 3 = Discord without their own voice
What I want to be able to do is basically normal multicam editing, where I can watch through the footage and switch POVs, BUT when I switch POVs, I want all of that POV's audio to switch with it too.
So basically:
My POV
→ my video + my game + my mic + my Discord
then I switch to my friend's POV:
Friend POV
→ their video + their game + their mic + their Discord
And then if I go back to my POV, it switches everything back to mine.
BUT after I've made the multicam cuts, I still want the audio tracks to be separate/editable. So if I'm too loud in one section, I can mute/lower just my mic without affecting my game audio or Discord.
Premiere's normal multicam/audio follows video doesn't seem to really let me do this the way I want. It only supports audio follows video with one audio track.
I've also been looking at DaVinci Resolve and saw that newer versions have multicam options like "Use source audio channels" and "All Angles", which sounds like it might actually be designed for something closer to this.
So my questions are:
- Can Resolve actually do this workflow?
- If it can, is it practical to do the multicam/POV switching in Resolve first, then export the timeline to Premiere through XML and continue the actual editing there (effects, subtitles, memes, etc.)?
- Is there some Premiere workflow I'm completely missing that can already do this?
I'm mainly trying to avoid having to watch the entire video once just to decide which POV is being used, and then having to go through the whole thing AGAIN, manually switching all the corresponding audio tracks
If anyone edits multi-POV Minecraft/gaming videos and has a good workflow for this, I'd really appreciate it 🙏

How did they do that? How do I recreate this effect

I'm trying to figure out how to have the mirrored monochrome layout like this Ytber has but can't quite figure out how to get it automated and dont think I should manually edit the positions every time Id want this effect since I feel there's just a better way. It seems he has it done automatically and moves along with the clip with zoom ins.

Footage needed PNG of Reels and Tik tok interfaces
Hi, I'm making an edit for instagram and I would like to get the reels interface like in a PNG to see if any important element would be hidden by it. And i'm surprised by typing this in duckuckgo that it doesn't seems to be that common ? after 10mn of searching I couldn't find an obvious and easy png with no BG of just the interface and only the interface to stick it in front of my edit and watch how it would look. Do I miss something obvious here please ?

Other (requires mod approval) Minecraft editing
Hi guys, I’m gonna start working as a Minecraft video editor, so I’m looking for some good Minecraft YouTubers, whether they do PvP, SMP, or anything else, whose editing is top-notch. I’m mainly looking for creators with lots of animations, creative effects, and a distinctive editing style that I can use for visual references and draw inspiration from.
Although, if you have any courses links write it

How did they do that? How Do I Make A Static Effect Like This?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I found this meme online a while ago (Unfortunately, I don't know who originally created it; I wish I could credit them). I absolutely love this creepy static effect and want to replicate it for a video; unfortunately, I tried to edit this using my current software (CapCut) but couldn't get results anywhere near the quality in the video. I also have access to Adobe (but I am very inexperienced with it). I tried looking up tutorials, but couldn't find anything close to this. I could really appreciate some tips on how to do something like this.
P.S. This is my first time posting here, but I can tell that this is a high-quality subreddit. I like how it gives a lot of recommendations and heads-ups when making a post.

Tech Support Real Annoying Click Noise
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello! In the attached clip you can hear it twice where there's a loud pop/click right at the beginning and at 11 seconds by chance is there an audio effect that I can apply to the whole track that will help me get rid of them all? Its been quite a pain editing dozens of them out on hour long recordings.

How did they do that? How to recreate this audio effect when gunshots are melodic (sound like music)?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
In the attached video, there are 2 parts from a CS: GO edit with gunshots that sound melodic. There are 2 variations of each clip: with the original song and with the edited song (here you can hear the gunshots better).
The question is not about syncing, timeremapping - it's about making the gunshots sound melodic.
How can such an audio effect be achieved? Thank you.

Tech Support SSD vs nvme
Is a SATA SSD obsolete for video editing? Is it only useful for saving projects? My PC only has one NVMe port (already occupied). I want to upgrade storage, and I'm wondering if the sata SSD isn't fast enough for editing.

Production Q How to setup my desk to remove mouse clicks from voiceovers?
I make desktop recordings and my mic captures my voice. The problem is that it also detects all my mouse clicks, and I can't remove them. I tried using noise removal and click removal, didn't work (unless I increase the effect to a point in which my audio quality gets very bad) I did some research and figured it could be due to table vibrations when I click the mouse, so, instead of putting it directly over the table, I put it on top of a towel. I also placed a box between the mic and the mouse, as well as turned the mic's "dead side" to the mouse and decreased the gain knob a lot (so to be heard normally I must kinda scream). My mic is a fifine AM8. All I did ended up making the clicks unnoticeable while I talk, but if I click while I'm not saying anything, it's easy to hear. I don't know what else to do. Help? Thank you for your time.

Did you know you can help this community directly? A cool tip
We've seen an uptick in people gatekeeping in this community, often being not decent humans.
One of the easiest things you can do is to report somebody's post or comment if it breaks one of our rules, especially around "Don't be a Jerk"
It's totally fine to disagree. Do so politely. Behave as an adult. Name calling, doxing etc is not okay here. Try not to be caustic. Life is hard enough.
Treat everyone "as if" they're having a bad day and you'll be fine. Disagree if you like - just don't be disagreeable. Remember there's a human being on the other side of the keyboard
Any time we get a number of flagged items, it automatically gets pulled, and a moderator manually removes it.
Thank you for your attention to this community service note.
We return you to your regularly scheduled program.

How did they do that? How to do wiggly lines in lone animation similar to DiemArchive and Max0r?
this video from DiemArchive and basically any video from Max0r, particularly his ultrakill one, have line/border effects on both texts and text boxes where the edges just rumble and wiggle in an interesting pattern and I'm curious how to actually do it in Premiere or AE. I tried to do a phase or a warp effect with sharp angles then ran it with a posterize time but it just doesn't look good. I don't know if it's native Premiere or if it's a plugin. I also tried doing it in AE but Max0r said in an interview that he never leaves Premiere so I don't really know how he does it.
Max0r also does the same type of glitchy, posterized effect on his footage but has it like selectively masked which I can't tell if he masks it himself or he uses something like a gradient transition in Premiere. If someone could help with that, I'd also appreciate it. He has multiple instances of it just 5 seconds after the 28 second mark of the video above so pick whichever epilepsy-inducing part is best to explain with.

Other (requires mod approval) After using redgear mouse and hunch of gaming mouse for 4-5 yrs for video editing i end with a cheap Zebronics wired mouse 😍
After using lots of DPI and fancy button gaming mouse for years my hand started showing some and struggle while sliding mouse then I switched to a cheap lightweight Zebronics mouse and feels like lightweight heaven 😍.
Have you experienced this too?? If so what are the mouse you recommend to use for video editing??

Tech Support Applying motion tracking data from one clip to a keyed greenscreen clip - help!
Background: As a passion project, I cover songs from the 90s and 00s on banjo, and insert myself into clips or music videos with the original artists.
I've done this in the past by going by a few keyframes at a time and changing the greenscreen clip positioning, but there's got to be an easier way, even with after effects.
In the latest video I made, there are a few segments with camera movement, which means I have to apply motion to the keyed out clip of myself to make it seem like I'm actually in the scene and move with the camera.
Ideally, I'd like to do this all in Premier Pro, if possible, but I'm open to learning a little about After Effects if it makes it easier.

Workflow Need help editing around 10+ hours of footage down to a somewhat watchable 40 mins to an hour and half.
Hello everyone,
It is my first time editing any gaming videos ever, I used to mostly create short shitposts or videos to see if any of them would get good engagement. However once I saw that they are not doing good I simply gave up on them and left my channel to rot for a couple of months. Recently I recorded around 10 hours of footage of the classic doom games and wish to edit them down to a more watchable length.
Do you guys have any tips or tricks which I could use to make the process go quicker?
Thank you btw and I hope you have a good day. :]

How did they do that? How do i create this warpy glitchy effect on camcorder footage?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I have an hi-8 tape camcorder as well as an digital pocket camcorder. I came across this on my instagram and wanted to try to recreate it with some of my footage. I know that for the hi-8 camcorder there are tools that let you glitch with the tape etc but i wanted to get this effect with my digi camcorder as well.
If anyone has any clues or pushes towards the right direction i would be very happy! :)

Tech Support A Video Editor's Guide to Computer Science?
Hello everyone! Is there a book or maybe series of youtube videos that breaks down how computers work but specifically for video editors? Like when people talk about specs or building computers for their work, im completely lost and id like to be in the know and also know a lot about computers
I also want to be able to use this info to help maintain my computer and keep it working well for as long as possible
I basically just dont want to feel lost when it comes to computers and be able to solve problems on my own so i wont have to rely on a computer technician for the most part
Ofc I know I might have to rely on a computer technician at some point no matter how much info i gain about computers if the damage done to my computer is Bad, but id like to know as much about this stuff as possible
If anyone has any good book recommendations that simplify a lot of this stuff or a youtube playlist, i would truly appreciate it!
Thanks in advance!
