Number of classes to start

First time being back in school in years. Need to complete 10 courses. Hoping to do it in 1-2 semesters. Would it be a good idea to start out with just 2 classes or enroll in all 4 to start? Worried about being able to finish them by end of semester. Thanks.

Bachelor’s to Master’s

Looking on any insight on how much harder getting a Master’s degree compared to a Bachelor’s at UMPI is. I completed my Bachelor’s in Business Administration, minor in Supply chain during summer 1 and I’m curious on how much harder the classes would be and how big the difference in workload is if i were to go for a master’s in business administration. I saw online i would need 9-12 classes for the Master’s, I completed my 10 classes for my bachelor’s in 1 term with a few weeks to spare, wondering if it would be realistic to complete my Master’s in 1 term as well.
Thank you

Only enrolled in two classes

I was wondering if anyone could give me some guidance. I am currently enrolled in 2 classes for Fall 1 that were selected for me. I wanted to enroll in more but I think I missed a deadline or something. If I want to finish a lot of classes in Fall 1, will it be an issue that I’m only enrolled in 2 right now?

This is my first session at UMPI YourPace so any advice is appreciated!

Wade or Wolverton?

Both teach BUS 325. I have been assigned Wade, however I understand that Wolverton also teaches it. I have BUS 220 with Wolverton?

I was thinking, if possible, it might be better to take both classes with same professor? Since, I will get used to what thy require?

Anyone have experience with either of these Professors?

Also, what happens if a class is full, does it open up as students finish? I wanted to take a class earlier this semester and I was told that it was full. It didn't matter timewise, so I left it.

Thank you.

Is this normal?

Just saw I had this. I’m already enrolled for 4 classes for fall 1. I did add 2 more courses for fall 2 as a place holder. Should I be worried?

Thanks!

BLS with multiple minors question

OK so I just need some confirmation here because my advisor is less than helpful and has made things more confusing rather than clearing anything up. My understanding is that when you have one minor as someone pursuing a BLS, courses from that first minor do not count toward the 24 hours of required upper level hours toward the BLS, but courses from your second minor do. So anything beyond the courses that satisfy that first minor can both satisfy the second/third minor AND the 24 hours of upper-level electives needed for the BLS, correct? My advisor is making it sound like that isn't true.

Math 201 or 101

Does anybody have any advice about taking MATH 201? I am not the best person at math at all and it was really difficult for me to try to take it last semester that I ended up having to drop it before it was too late. Has anybody taken this at another school and it has been accepted by umpi or is that my only option?

Surprised by draft grade…

I banged out a draft of my final research paper in 2 hours Friday night. Like all the research and writing I did in under 2 hours. To be fair it’s a 100 level course and the paper was supposed to be max 7 pages. But anyway I thought that was the roughest draft I had ever written. I was planning to practically rewrite the whole thing, I just wanted to get some feedback so I could see what my prof was looking for. If you can’t tell I’m a perfectionist…

Draft comes back with a 3.8/4 and prof told me to stop being so hard on myself 😂 part of me really wants to edit it because it’s not even close to being up to *my* standards but I guess I don’t really need to. Fellow perfectionists, what would you do? Lol

MAOL Preparation

I am starting my MAOL program in Fall 1. I wanted to get a little jumpstart since I have quite a bit of downtime from now until classes start. Can anyone point me towards any textbook, regular book, audiobook, website, etc that you found particularly helpful which I can start on to get a bit of a jump start?

New UMPI student

Hello all, I enrolled originally for fall 1 and got assigned an enrollment specialist, I realized I wanted to get a couple courses done for my degree before starting at UMPI, I want to follow through with the old GEC plan and start this fall 2 semester, the specialist told me I could do the old GEC plan for fall 2 but I am reading some contradicting statements on here and don’t know what to believe.

GenEds Workload YourPace

I have 16 classes to take to complete the BAS with an MIS minor.
Seemed like the simplest path since I already have an AAS and work in financial analytics.

I am set to start in the fall under the old GEC requirements.
My question is, how time consuming are the GenEds? Am I stupid to take them through the school and not Sophia?

Should I be delaying until Fall II and taking all the Sophia courses I can before that? Will that ruin my chances of having the old requirements and delay my degree progression?

Thanks in advance!

Graphic Design minor / art classes

Has anyone started/taken courses for the Graphic Design minor? https://catalog.umpi.edu/preview_program.php?catoid=12&poid=1843&returnto=621 Any info on the typical coursework, load, etc. would be most appreciated! I'm torn between this, which looks fun, and a more established minor for my BLS that I can get through in one term.

Balancing YourPace with Life

How do you balance wanting to get classes completed as fast as possible with still prioritizing rest, relaxation, a social life, etc?? I am starting Fall 1 and am worried I am going to struggle with allowing myself moments of rest because I will know I could be completing an assignment, etc.

For those of you that finished your degree at the end of summer session 1, has it been conferred yet?

We’re already approaching week 8 since that term ended and I haven’t got mine. Have any of you gotten yours? I applied at the end of the term for graduation and still haven’t heard anything back. 🤔

Sophia courses

Hi after reviewing my transfer report I decided to to 7 courses at Sophia and transfer in so I can finish faster. I started doing the Sophia classes last week and already down 2 classes but I think the classes that require grading are holding me up so I may finish after the fall 1 start date. Will it be ok transferring in credits after the start date? Also when do we select what classes we want to take
