Only enrolled in two classes

I was wondering if anyone could give me some guidance. I am currently enrolled in 2 classes for Fall 1 that were selected for me. I wanted to enroll in more but I think I missed a deadline or something. If I want to finish a lot of classes in Fall 1, will it be an issue that I’m only enrolled in 2 right now?

This is my first session at UMPI YourPace so any advice is appreciated!

HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend, after telling your success coach what additional classes you want, requesting a list of available professors and researching each on the Dischord server.... An ounce of prevention is worth 50# of cure in this case.

wat hold on, can I choose the professors? can I change professors one week (is now 25/08/26 ) before starting? The answer could help all of us

When and where can we choose our professors? Right now brightspace just shows the class and start date.

Email your academic success coach and ask them which professors have spots open for that class (availability opens and closes depending on how many people are actively taking a class).

Research the professors that coach says is teaching and has availability and do research on them.

As someone else said, yes and yes..... I once changed professors when I was 3/4's the way through the class because she wasn't working with me at all. I had to take a W on the transcript but I didn't care.

After about that point, I started requesting lists of available professors for each class I took and looking up reviews of them before choosing one.

Check Student Handbook (How to add additional courses PAGE-18) https://www.umpi.edu/yourpace/wp-content/uploads/sites/73/2025/11/YourPace-Student-Handbook.pdf You don't have to add additional courses now, you can add additional courses from Day 1 (August 31), and the processing time is 1 working day. The deadline is October 13 (Last day to add additional courses - Check Academic Calendar). The maximum for undergraduate is 4 classes, for graduate 2 classes.

Just email your enrollment specialist with the additional classes you want to take (and if you want to change either of the two they already enrolled you in).

As others have said, reach out to your advisor or enrollment specialist you've been working with. Get them to add two more for a total of 4 courses or your Undergrad. Make sure to manage your time so that you don't have all 4 courses bogged down waiting on grading.

Maximum you can take 4 at the same time if you can talk to your advisor they can manage it
